We have been living in Nanaimo since 2007 and love all the island has to offer. We especially enjoy the wonderful moderate climate, and the wide variety of healthy outdoor activities available at our doorstep. Having travelled extensively in Europe, the UK, Australia and New Zealand, we have always enjoyed the value and flexibility of staying in self contained suites. It is because of our enjoyable travelling experiences that set us on this path to offer this distinct, one of a kind accommodation. Norma is a retired Operating room Registered Nurse. Robert has been a furniture designer and maker for 40 years. His working Studio is on the property so he is always available for visits from our guests. He was instrumental in organizing the popular Hammond Bay Open Studio Tour featuring fabulous local artists working in various mediums. A number of these talented artists exhibit in the Artful Suite, which lends to the richness of the decor. So our intent was not only to offer unique, comfortable surroundings for travellers but also a venue for local artists to showcase their work which is available for sale through the Artful Suite.
