I first discovered Marina Chacala in 2006 on my search for a location to build an upscale boutique resort. When I passed through the unassuming gates that separate the community from the traditional Mexican fishing village of Chacala, I felt like having entered a live setting of Jurassic Park. After a short drive along a well-manicured cobblestone road towered by majestic, surreal-looking trees amidst a lush tropical forest, we stopped at a cluster of white-washed Palapa villas. From a modest hallway, I turned a corner and there it was --- one of the most incredible sceneries I had ever seen in my life: a manicured, deep-green grass meadow extending into a palm tree-covered white sandy cove of azure blue water!! To make a long story short, I had to share this experience with my wife and children. Over the years, we created memories of a lifetime(s) through family reunions, birthday parties, social gatherings, and simple time-outs to reconnect with ourselves, our families, and friends. Along the way, every one of us agrees that this is the closest place to paradise on earth.
