I recently retired as an administrator at a small college and have lived in the Boston area for many years. I've always considered myself a lover of the ocean and sea. I enjoy kayaking, swimming, sunsets, and walks on the beach. I originally bought this house to live in, and I lived there year-round. I found Plum Island to be magical and a great place for rejuvenation. The ocean is literally only five minutes away, and there is a wonderful 45-minute walk you can take at low tide from The Basin adjacent to the house around the tip of Plum Island and back along the Atlantic Ocean shore. You can't help but be affected by the beauty of the island and the power of the ocean. Even though Plum Island is less than an hour from Boston, the beaches are not crowded even in high season, and you can feel relaxed and reflective while in the presence of natural beauty.
