Compton grew up in Charlottesville and I (John) hail from a small town outside of Louisville, KY.

As fortune would have it, we met and married in Vail, and spent the next five years enjoying all the valley had to offer.In 1998 we realized a family was imminent, but with our families on the East coast we made the tough decision to sell our home, quit our jobs and head for the Blue Ridge Mountains.

We started our family with the four-legged variety before progressing to the ones that require diapers, talk back and consume large sums of money.

After moving back to Charlottesville we lived in the Fry Springs area before buying Poplar's Edge from Compton's aunt (the original owner) in 2002. Since purchasing the property we have re-designed the interiors for more living space, cut down many trees for light, added gardens to extend the living space and added plenty of deck space for those seeking refuge outside.

We love sharing our home and all that Charlottesville has to offer!
