In the 1960's, we unexpectedly inherited the land now occupied by the Wynne Rae. After visiting the property and camping on the beach out front in those early days, we realized what a grand circumstance and special opportunity we had.
We landed teaching jobs at a private school on Abaco but the school only lasted three years, but long enough to hook us on the Bahamas.
We went on to pursue our teaching careers which resulted in a total of 27 years of overseas teaching including 4 years in Taipei and 20 in Dubai. We, along with our daughters and son-in-laws, eventually managing to build the Wynne Rae vacation home during our summer teaching vacations.
And now our family and countless other renters and guests have been able to enjoy the fruits of our labors. We return in the fall to take advantage of all that the area has to offer including sailing with our own sailboat on the Sea of Abaco as the photo so aptly depicts.
"And now you know the rest of the story."

Barbara and her daughter, Jill, are decorators extraordinaire! It reflects Jim and Barb's love of the water and their travel adventures. … See more
