Villa Maura is a detached house in a dominant position over a green valley with a fantastic pool. Villa Maura has 2 bedrooms and is the perfect accommodation to combine sightseeing in Tuscany and relax with family and frends. It is ideally positioned near Lucca and between Pisa and Florence.
Villa Maura is in a little holiday home complex, with wonderful pool and large garden. LA SCUOLA holiday home is a small holiday complex in a very quiet countryside (directly inside Parco delle Cerbaie, where even storks come to nest) overlooking a green valley. It allows you to relax, while being able, at the same time, to be in less than 1 hour in almost every tourist destination in Tuscany (Lucca, Pisa, Vinci, San Gimignano, Florence, the beach). So, in the morning you can take a walk to the little country shops or go to the supermarkets in Fucecchio (5 kms) with your car, then visit one or more tourist attraction in Tuscany, come back to enjoy a swim our fantastic pool (12x6m), relax in the large equipped garden sipping an aperitivo while the tomato sauce boils in the kitchen, then have a relaxing dinner in the garden alfresco. The 6 basic apartments in the former school building have 1, 2 or even 4 bedrooms while the brand new villa offers some more comforts and sleeps up to 6. Parking inside the property. Nice country bar / pizzeria / restaurant at walking distance.

A 25% non-refundable deposit is due when booking. Balance to be paid 2 months prior arrival.
Please note that full payment will be required for any bookings made within 70 days of the start of the rental date. Refundable breakages deposit of 300.00 euro cash required on arrival.
We regret we cannot accept pets.
No smoking inside the house. Smoking inside the villa will result in immediate termination of occupancy and forfeiture of all payments.
We can accept bank transfer payments in Euros only. Payments accepted also through credit card (plus 3% credit card charge).
The client is recommended to arrange comprehensive travel insurance (including cancellation cover), baggage, personal belongings and public liability etc., as these things are not covered by the owners insurance.
The Tourist Tax is not included (one euro per person / per night, maximum of 6 nights, children under 14 free). The Tourist Tax is levied on behalf of the municipality of Fucecchio separately.

This is our second visit to La Scuola in Tuscany and our group consisted of four adults. It has an ideal location for sight seeing, being close to Pisa, Florence, and Lucca, not to mention the vineyards and wine tasting, but you do need a vehicle as it is special in its remoteness from urban life. It is in a beautiful setting, within the rolling hills and picturesque scenery you expect from the area. There is a swimming pool to be shared by the few apartments but it is mainly very quiet for a relaxing day with a good book. We have stayed in both an apartment and the Villa Maura which is an exceptional property with all the facilities a family could need. Both met our needs more than adequately.
Tiziana the proprietor gives exceptional customer service and this year she helped us with a series of visits with local dignitaries and local places in the area in our efforts to establish some things of unexpected but special historical interest to my family. She has, on both our visits, offered her time and service to help us out. Tizzie even arranged our first basket of shopping to ensure we had groceries for our arrival as it was late in the day and at the weekend.
We enjoy a balance between touring and relaxing and this gives the opportunity to do both. If you don't wish to drive into cities there is adequate railway provision locally to get where ever you wish to go.
The town of Fuccechio has an open air market each week and there are large local supermarkets close at hand. There are detailed information packs in the Villa and apartments to help you. I would highly recommend this property as a base to chill out or as a base to see the wonders of historical Tuscany or as for us, a chance to do both.

Villa Maura was fantastic, spotlessly clean and well equipped. The owners made us feel as if we were in our own home and were attentive to our needs, which made our stay all the more pleasant. We all (family of 4) loved the heavenly pool. The gardens and view from the balcony are really stunning. It is a great base for exploring the area of Lucca and Florence.

We both recommend the place and the region. The villa in La Scuola domain is well furnished and equipped. Nothing is missing ! Even sheets and towels are given and changed at the end of each week. The villa remains cool even when it is hot outside. No problem to sleep. The place is very quiet day and night. People taking care of the domain are helpful, nice. The swimming pool is wide, clean and we underline the quality of pool furniture (chairs for example). The landscape you can admire from the windows of the villa is typical : olive and cypress trees, hills and a little bit further mountains. The private garden with a table, chairs and a barbecue are welcome. As there are other families staying in the near flats, children play with one another though they might not speak the same language !! The domain is wide enough to play football without disturbing a baby's nap.
As far as the region is concerned, you will need to come twice to discover each treasure that lie hidden in the region. The Scuola is in the middle of everything. 45mn drive from Florence, 40mn from Pisa etc... To be seen also : Volterra, San Giminiano, Lucca and its unforgettable Tiramisu 'semi-fredo' in the 'gelateria Fiori Dal Centro' via borgo Giannotti. One last point : car is a "must have" there ! Ciao tutti and enjoy Italia !!! -

Schöne, gepflegte anlage mit sehr netten Vermietern, die mit Tipps und Hilfe immer zur Seite stehen. Ideal um sich zu erholen oder ausflüge nach Pisa, Florenz, Siena oder Lucca zu machen.Ein auto ist allerdings unbedingt notwendig.
