Beautifully appointed Gites situated in the Valley of the Rotja 5 minutes from the Unesco fortified Village of Villefranche de Conflent. It is the ideal location for walking, cycling and generally exploring the area, which is rich in historical sites and natural wonders. Alternatively, it is an excellent location for just relaxing in the courtyard, enjoying an al-fresco meals and just generally winding down.
The Gites are in newly converted barn with a beautiful courtyard overlooked by the majestic Mont Canigou surrounded by splendid views.

We are situated at 550m into the Pyrenees, yet only under an hour to the Mediterranean Beaches, 45 mins to the historic region capital Perpignan and to the ski slopes.
The area is rich in walks and cycle paths. In our village we have a friendly bar and restaurant, and in the nearby village there is a bakery, grocery and butchers.
There a two spas within easy reach by car.

My husband and I loved the gite, the property, the location, and the owners were very helpful and hospitable. Our gite was spacious, beautifully decorated, had everything we could want, including satellite TV and internet. We were surrounded by mountains, countryside, but close to neighboring towns, so exploring from home base was easy. Even Spain was easily accessible-- the Dali house and museum are worth a trip. Lovely restaurants, easy shopping, trips into the mountains by car or train, plenty of hiking-- all within easy reach. We would happily return to this property.

Situated up a narrow mountain valley road amongst fruit farms and holiday homes, les Hirondelles makes a convenient base for getting to know the surrounding villages of Villefranche, Prades, Vernet les Bains and, a little favourite perched above the River Tet, Eus. All three of the local abbeys that we visited were simple, delightful, peaceful places - St Martin, St Michel and Serabone.

We had a wonderful honeymoon at Les Hirondelles. The owners were so friendly, welcoming and helpful with local information and the accommodation was so much more than we anticipated. The location was beautiful and a great place to get away from everything. The only downside was the two weeks of rain we arrived for! But we're used to the rain anyway so it didn't spoil our holiday!

Excellent, friendly ,helpful and knowledgable service;comfortable house with all modcons,tho would have preferrred proper small oven to microwave oven.Stunning location and views with walks from the door, but a 40 minute walk to nearest village to butcher and local shop.Liked sitting outside for meals best, and the spiral staircase to bedroom and bathroom least.
