Left on 02/13/2012 for a stay in October 2011
A friend and I stayed at the Misty River Retreat last fall for an extended (5 day) weekend, and to attend a Virginia Tech football game. The location is absolutely beautiful - right on the river, tubing and kayaking are available nearby, and you can fish right in front of the house. The owner's parents were right on hand to help us out when we arrived, and couldn't have been any more helpful.
We went primarily for the football game, and the location was very convenient. It took us about 90 minutes to get from the house to the parking lot for the game. Of course, we left fairly early, so there was very little traffic.
I didn't bring my kids, but I'm sure they would have loved the playhouse and playing in the creak. I'd absolutely recommend this propoerty to anyone looking for a relaxing trip on the river. Beautiful property, beautiful location, perfect trip!
