Very convenient, great location, good for families

Left on 10/30/2012 for a stay in October 2012

Stayed here mid Oct and was generally very happy with the place.
We were 4 adults and 2 small kiddies. We were met by someone managing the apartments to let us in and he was very helpful with local info and advice.
The apartments have everything you need and are clean and tidy. Wi-Fi is great and they also have a PVR linked to the TV so I was able to record and catch up on the rugby highlights later in the evening (Munster won by the way :))
The bus outside the door is very punctual and takes you straight into the city.
Sliverstrand beach and Barna (mini-woods :) ) is close by also. Salthill is a 4 min drive and the city is 12-15 mins max.
Only complaint is that the electric storage heaters in the living area did not seem to work so it was cold on the first night until we turned on the booster function. In my own experience everywhere I have stayed that has had electric storage heaters installed never seem to work properly.
Other than that all good and will definitely go back again and thx to Pat for keeping in touch on email before we arrived.

      Reasonably priced/great location...

Left on 08/30/2012 for a stay in August 2012

The location is great-- just west of Galway city and Salthill.

As for the apartment-- what you get is pretty much reflected in the price. We had a two bedroom place, decent kitchen, small TV and a washer. Air drying the clothes is somewhat difficult in Ireland but better than nothing. Everything was clean.

Excellent self-catering accommodation in Galway. We are a family with two teenagers so particularly appreciate the three bedrooms and bathrooms, and the wifi. Accommodation is well maintained and equipped and very clean. The owners, Pat and James, are a delight. Both are very welcoming, and go out of their way to ensure a pleasant stay. From our experience self-catering in Ireland can be rather hit and miss but this place is easily the best we have stayed in anywhere in Ireland. Good value too. Our second stay and we will be back.

      Not What it Seems

Left on 07/24/2012 for a stay in July 2012

As many have stated previously, it is difficult to find. Once we were assisted with locating the flat, we were given a very polite intro to the home. The flat is decorated to look like a university student's flat. Upon arrival, we did request additional towels. It seemed that there were only five towels in the flat for five people for the whole seven day stay. We received the towels later in the first evening, but had to launder them before using them. The doorbell was jammed and continued to ring for the first hour we were in the flat. One of the members of our party eventually pulled it out to make the ringing stop. The flat only had a washer, no formal dryer. The shower in the upstairs bathroom did not work at all. The television audio comes and goes. The internet must constantly be reset. The beds were not comfortable either. When we arrived we were also asked for a 200 Euro deposit, which we were not notified about beforehand. It is close to the bus stop, and near to Salthill. We were just expecting much more than we found.

      Owner

Firstly, as all our guests are on holidays we hope that they have a pleasant stay, last thing we want is hassle while your away, rest and relaxation is the aim of a holiday so apologies for the inconveniences.
It is disappointing that I was not made aware of these issues while you were there as I'm always happy to sort out anything that may arise, again our guests are the priority.
In light of your difficulty finding the apartment we now send a map with directions to all guests as part of the booking procedure, plus we are on google maps as stated previously.
Our next guests made us aware and I was able to replace a faulty SCART cable on the TV which was causing the audio problem, likewise a loose connection in the bell was fixed very quickly.
The apartment has a combined washer/dryer, it the same machine.
Both of the upstairs showers are pumped electric showers, so you have to have the switch on and then it works.
I know additional towels were supplied upon request, we have no problem supplying towels at no additional cost and they are always supplied laundered.
Bookings received through online websites such as Ebookireland.com list full terms and conditions and all state that a €200 security deposit is taken upon arrival and returned upon departure, but I will follow up with them to ensure that this is made clear as it is with other websites.
I hope this answers the issues you had, as stated earlier if issues arise I'm more than happy to sort them then and there because your stay and holiday is the priority.

Great apartment; clean, well equipped and perfect location to travel the Galway area.
The bus line stops right in front which is a big plus. We had plenty of room for our family and found the area quiet and friendly. Would recommend this location to anyone traveling to west Ireland.

The apartment was just what we required with family living close by. We are well seasoned visitors to Galway, previously renting cottages or staying with family. I spent a week in Salthill with my adult son and his girlfrind. The apartment was clean, comfortable and provided a fine base for exploring the nearby regions. We found the small towns west of Galway on the bay were more accessable and delightful for dining. Pat was very helpful with local knowledge and recommendations--the kind of help a visitor needs to make a visit memorable.

If you have a GPS use it! It was a bit difficult to find but once we were there Pat was gracious and welcoming. It is a good place to base your stay in Galway and the bus literally stops right outside the house. It was very clean and roomy for my husband, myself and our three adult children to spread out. Our only issue was the heat. We were never able to get the apt warm enough. Our adult children slept in the bedrooms on the second floor and one of those rooms heated to a comfortable temperature but the downstairs stayed cool no matter how much we ran the wall units. Granted, we were there during an unusual cold snap and the country was having a water crises due to burst pipes!

The apartment is not the easiest to find, but Pat was availabe straight away to guide you through Galway / Salthill. We had a very warm welcome and got a good intro for the flat which we wanted to use as a base for day trips to Connemara and night out / dinner in Galway. The apartment itself was very clean and well equipped with kitchen utensils and beddings/towels etc. most of it in practicable Ikea style.
Galway city is only 15 minutes away by car, so you can even walk it in a longer evening stroll. Alternatively, a bus stop is just opposite the apartment block, but we did not try it. Overall, we enjoyed our stay in the apartment and would recommend it if you´re looking for a clean and tidy place for your party.

Very enjoyable weekend with pleasant staff.

Left on 12/09/2009 for a stay in November 2009

The apartment was a little hard to find as the
signage for the apartment block was quite small
though Pat the keyholder was great in advising the
party where the flat was. The flat itself was ideal
for the weekend, I was down for my 30th birthday
with a few friends and wanted somewhere clean,
reasonably priced where we could grab a few beers
and make a bite to eat and have the freedom to come
and go as we pleased, things we couldn't have done
at a B&B or hotel. There were 3 big bedrooms, 2
ensuite and 1 with a bathroom just opposite. The
apartment was very well equipped with cooking
utensils, crockery and cutlery. There was also a
washing machine/tumble dryer, iron, etc, which
would have been very useful had we been staying
longer. When we arrived we were given a quick tour,
told how to use the heating system how to operate
the showers and given the number for a local taxi
driver. The taxi driver lived in the apartment
block also and sorted out taxis for us very quickly
throughout the weekend. Galway city was only 15
minutes away by taxi and the average cost was about
15 euros though the 8 seater taxi which we got on a
couple of occasions taking 7 was 20 euros. There
was a bus stop which left you into the city centre
just opposite the apartment block. In summary a
very enjoyable experience dealing with very
friendly and helpful staff in a clean and well
equipped apartment. I would recommend it and would
definitely book it again for a similar event.
