londonbest family holiday ever
Left on 06/26/2010 for a stay in June 2010
This was the best family holiday we have ever taken.
The apartment was huge, and everything we needed was there. The pool complex was excellent (very large pool and lots of toys).
Canaules is a great location with so much to see and do for all the family.
We hope to return again some day soon to this lovely part of France -

Galway, IrelandBrilliant Location and Apartments
Left on 03/12/2010 for a stay in May 2009
We spent a fantastic few days in La Bastide De Lavandieres in the Summer of 09.
It was extremely easy to book and organise the trip.
The apartments are about 2 hours from Carcassonne and are in the sleepy village of Canaules.
It must be said that the standard of accomodation offered here is one more akin to apartments many times the price in more popular destinations.
A car is an essential asset and a Sat Nav can come in extremely handy given the rural setting.
That said it really not far at all to cities like Nimes, Montpellier, Sete, etc etc.
The local capital of Uzes is definately worth a visit for its amazing market which complement the self-catering accomodation very well as there is nothing better than stocking up on French goodies feasting at your leisure in Canaules.
The best thing I can say about it is we have already booked our Summer '10 Holiday in Canaules.

Happy Visitor
Galway, IrelandThis is Heaven
Left on 03/12/2010 for a stay in October 2009
Having stayed a few times at La Bastide des Lavandieres the last time being in October 2009 and will be returning to Canaules within the next couple of months we cannot praise it enough. This apartment offers space, a home away home and yet you know that you are on vacation. The service to arrange the booking is always very helpful and the apartment is maintained to a very high standard and very clean. The apartment is large and well equipped with good quality furniture and appliances. Outside the patio is large and spacious and the surrounding gardens and pool amenities are spacious and very relaxing - it is an ideal place for both couples and families.
Canaules is where a person can go to just relax and recharge the batteries and yet should you wish to venture elsewhere there are many activities available to take advantage of, ranging from horse riding, canoeing on the rivers or just going for a walk amoungst the surrounding fields and mountains. You are surrounded by amazing scenery in this location of the Languedoc and you get to spend a few days living within a French village and to savour all its charm. However, there are many towns and cities within an hour's drive of Canaules depending how busy a town you want.
La Bastide des Lavandieres will always be a place that we look forward to returning to time and time again. -

IrelandGreat Ambiance - a place to revisit

This apartment is in a tastefully renovated building - has great character. Apt 1 is on the ground floor, and has a private terrace, with BBQ facility. It is beside the swimming pool. The apt is equipped to a high standard - home from home. And the highly comprehensive information file on the region gives lots of ideas on what to do in the area (particularly good for families).
Location is incredible - surrounded by picturesque villages - at least one for every day of the week. Great markets - Anduze and Uzes are the highlights.
Locals are extremely friendly and be sure to mention where you are staying!
If you are a wine buff - you will be busy... tasting.
Enjoy your stay!

North YorkshireSo good we're going back!
Left on 03/04/2010 for a stay in August 2009
We stayed at Las Bastide des Lavandieres in August 2009, myself, my husband and 16 year old daughter (we'd have known in no uncertain terms if it wasn't up to scratch). The apartment was spacious and well equipped, with a DVD for films when you're too tired to go out. The pool was great; we had very warm weather so returning after a morning's sight seeing able to use a virtually private pool was a real plus point.
There's no shortage of places to visit and restaurants to sample. So we're going back this year and taking two friends, who are domiciled in another region of France: we're very confident they'll love it too. -

Left on 03/04/2010 for a stay in February 2010
You take your chances with the weather in France in February. Temperatures ranged over the week from a cool -6 to a beautiful sunny +16 degrees.
The accomodation was a well proportioned modern apartment in an old stone building located in a quaint French Village. Perfectly located for day trips around this part of France with large cities like Nimes, Avignon and Montpellier in easy reach as well as the beach. The beach wasn't on our agenda in February. There is also a large swimming pool in the garden.
Surprise, surprise, the local produce is wine. We tried some very nice examples which was so good we brought some home with us.
You need to drive to get to a restaurant but there are a number of good eateries within a short distance and the apartment has all modern kitchen appliances as well as a barbeque on the patio which is perfect for eating in.
The administration and booking was a piece of cake and although we never met Sean O'Neill he was the perfect host, was very helpful and made us feel welcome.
Did we have an enjoyable holiday? Yes we did and my son discovered that his school French actually worked.
Would we go back at this time of year again? Yes we would.
Would we go any other time of the year? Absolutely, in fact we are hoping to go back in late Summer and see the grape harvest.

We had a lovely family holiday in La Bastide des Lavandiéres. The apartments are very comfortable and well kitted out to suit our needs and we loved the swimming pool!! La Bastide des Lavandiéres is in a beatiful rural setting which helps to get you into a relaxed frame of mind, while at the same time central enough to cover the region if you want to!! We will be back!
