The great outdoors is waiting for you just minutes from our front door, including hiking, kayaking and both lake and ocean swimming. Come back from your excursion to a long bath in our soaker tub, a glass of wine by the fire overlooking the ocean or a BBQ on one of the decks with views across to Vancouver Island.

Often referred to as the “Venice of the North”, Pender Harbour is known for its hidden bays and tiny islands, coves, lakes and reefs. The best view of the harbour is offered from the top of Mount Daniel, one of the hikes that can be done in the area.
Pender Harbour is a small community, with a population of just over 2,500. Over the summer months, it doubles in population. Many people are attracted to the area for the music and art festivals which occur each year. The main town, Madeira Park, has all the basic amenities and then some. You will find a guide book waiting or you at our home, to acquaint you with Pender Harbour and the surrounding area.
In the Daniel Point neigbourhood where our house is located, there is a new path down to Sakinaw Lake, which connects to the ocean....a great spot for a summer picnic with friends and family. There are a variety of different hikes in the area that will challenge enthusiasts of all ages, from gentle oceanside trails to challenging mountain climbs. We have provided maps and instructions here at the house to lead you to the trailheads in the area, including Pender Hill, Mt. Daniel and Skoocumchuck Narrows.
For water lovers, our property has a great swimming rock, and our new trail makes getting down to the water an easy task. There are also five freshwater lakes nearby, including Catherine lake which has a small beach and a playground and is ideal for young children. Kayak and motorboat rentals are also possible, and boat trips up Princess Louisa Inlet, fishing and Pender Harbour boat tours can be arranged upon arrival. Again, you will find more information at the house when you arrive, and rentals are easy to arrange once you arrive.
For those you would like to be pampered, there are fine and casual dining options, and a new spa at the Painted Boat Resort in Madeira Park. In Touch Therapuetics Yoga and Massage Studio is also a fantastic new option, with yoga classes running daily, and incredible massage that can be arranged in advance. Check out their website.

We rented the Brook's home and absolutely loved it! The home is perfect for a couple or families as it has both upstairs and downstairs living areas. The views from the wrap around deck are spectacular. The Brook's are a lovely family and easy to work with. We hope to stay there again soon.

Greetings! My family and I have stayed at Brook's Nook twice over the last few years and it's truly wonderful! The house is lovely, very comfortable and everything you need is provided. The decks are the best part and the view is spectacular. This house is especially good for kids. I would highly recommend this amazing place and I hope that we can make it back there again soon!

We have been lucky enough to stay at Brook's Nook twice. The hosts are very gracious and take care of all necessary details. The home itself is very comfortable. Both times we stayed with three couples for a "friends" vacation. There is enough room for everyone, with two living room areas and two kitchens. Spectacular views and large decks. We've even managed showers of shooting stars both times! Highly recommend.
