    Skiing
    Oberstdorf is a perfect place for skiing in Winter with access to many different ski areas to chose from. You can get a "Kurkarte" for 2 Euros per night. With this one you can use the Skibus (a shuttle) to the lifts for free. The shuttle stop is located about 3-4 minutes from the apartment. Please ask for exact location of the shuttle stop when you arrive and the owner will provide directions. Depending on which ski area you like you need about 5 to 15 minutes to get there.
    How to Get Here:
    Coming on autobahn Munich-Garmisch (A95), continue on Bundesstrasse 2 towards Garmisch-Partenkirchen when the autobahn ends.
    Past the tunnel, turn right towards Grainau/Reute. Follow this main road which will continue as Zugspitzstrasse. Past the two gas stations (OMV, ESSO), you will come to a Sparkasse bank with a large Euro symbol made of metal. Turn left onto Hochblassenstrasse and follow that until you get to the next main road, the St. Martinsstrasse.
    Having crossed that, you will be on the Riesserseestrasse where you’ll find the apartment after just a few meters.
    Check-in is between 3 and 6 p.m.; please come straight to the apartment within that time.
    Call us when you arrive; we’ll come to hand you your keys and answer any questions you may have. Should you be delayed, please inform us in time.

    The region of Garmisch-Partenkirchen is great for walks and mountain hikes in any season; winter makes ice skating possible on many of the lakes. The Riessersee lake was the site where the ice skating and ice hockey competitions of the 1936 Olympic Games took part, for example.
