Description

Come stay at an authentic log home on Ski Mountain in the exclusive Chalet Village in Gatlinburg. This is a built-from-scratch log home, not a standard home 'converted' to a log home. Not much drywall in this home. Interior construction features exposed log timbers and cedar walls.The home features a unique floor plan. The living area is anchored by a huge stone fireplace. The space overhead reveals a cathedral ceiling with exposed log timbers. The furniture is new and exhibits a mountain theme. The sofa converts to a bed providing total sleep accommodations for 8. A 46' LCD HDTV is provided in the living area. A staircase winds behind the fireplace leading to a loft overlooking the living area. The loft contains a regulation billiards table. The master bedroom is also located on the 2nd floor and features a sitting area and a large jetted Jacuzzi oversized tub. All the bedroom furniture is also brand new. Ample windows afford a view of the Ski Mountain valley and distant peaks.Two spacious guest bedrooms are located on the first floor with queen size beds. A guest bedroom with a jetted jacuzzi tub serves these bedrooms All bedrooms contain cable LCD TV's. The kitchen contains all new major appliances and is equipped with all cooking and eating utensils. Outside is a spectacular covered porch with a view across Ski Mountain. The porch has rocking chairs for great lounging and socializing. A grill is available. A 4 person hot tub is located on the porch. Next to the home is a sun deck with full patio furniture and seating areas.This is an amazing home with an incredible layout. Come relax and have a great vacation or weekend getaway !

Response from the owner It was a pleasure hosting this guest and we’re pleased he enjoyed observing one of our local bear residents We’d like to provide some information about some of the comments he made. This home is an authentic cedar log home. It is made of natural cedar and does not contain drywall and paint like a typical home in which which most of our guests reside. Cedar homes have a very natural, outdoorsy smell. Most people find it quite attractive but some people mistake it for outdoor smells like greenery, soil, tree mold and other smells one observes in the woods. Many guests comment that they like the rugged, natural smell of cedar. We checked the bathroom and bedroom after the guest’s departure and found no mold. The cedar walls contained sections of weathering which is natural for cedar and appears as a darker tint. There is no bubbling sewage at the steps. It is some runoff from the drainage system channeling rain water from the side of the home. This home contains 63 working light bulbs. At times during a guest’s stay one bulb may burn out while they are our guests. We provide a basket of spare bulbs and batteries just in case a guest might prefer to quickly replace a bulb or a TV remote battery without the inconvenience of waiting for a tech to come up and replace the bulb. Many guests tell us they like this option and appreciate the opportunity to avoid a maintenance visit. This guest reported one burned out bulb (not 2 or 3) and indicated he was agreeable to use one of the spare bulbs. Unfortunately, his review tells a slightly different story. We can not guarantee a guest will never see a cobweb but the home is thoroughly cleaned between each stay and is deep cleaned every 6 months. Our driveway is sloped just like nearly EVERY other driveway on the side of a mountain. However, the driveway is asphalt paved and easily navigated either going forward or backing up. This guest was not familiar with our mountain living and probably had not seen many sloped driveways in the past. Again it was a pleasure hosting this guest and perhaps he is now more familiar with a true log home.
