Left on 11/17/2012 for a stay in October 2012
The view from this romantic mountain getaway is spectacular. The cozy tri-level cabin has everything inside you could possibly need. From a fabulous whirlpool tub mid level for indoor relaxation to a hot tub on the deck outdoors overseeing the splendor of the beautiful mountains. It is not unusual to see a bear or two casually walking by. The canopy bed upstairs gives couples of all ages a wonderful honeymoon feeling. Cool weather permitting there is huge brick fireplace on the open concept family room/kitchen/dinette area. You can count on an ejoyable refreshing experience staying here!

We always have a good time at the Canoodle Nest Mountain Laurel Chalet. Only complaint is the mattress on the bed...by the 3rd night our backs were sore. Think the mattress may need to be softer or have a thicker mattress pad.

Columbus, OhioGreat Cabin, not good for motorcycles
Left on 10/08/2012 for a stay in September 2012
The cabin is beautiful. We had a great weekend. It is nearly impossible to drive/park a motorcycle there and when leaving be careful as the drive ends in a blind area for on-coming traffic. Would highly recommend staying there. We will be back when we drive our car.

Left on 09/15/2012 for a stay in September 2012
The house was nice. The only real complaint I had was the bed was too tall and being all of 5foot tall I needed a step stool to get into it. There were four steps before you get to the stairs onto the deck that could have been changed (rough on those that are unsteady on their feet).A railing might help. But other than that the house was wonderful. The double shower was wonderful and the hot tub was used during the whole trip.

The service was fantastic, all personal were very kind. The home was nice but did have trouble with ants around the sink area. The location was outstanding, as we had a visit from a bear, yes on the deck; maybe placing a gate at the entrance of the deck may be a good idea. Also seen a mountain lion behind the house next door, about 80 feet away. Views were outstanding.

Canoodle Nest is where we spent our honeymoon 15 years ago - enjoyed it very much then and now. Beautiful, contemporary design chalet with loft beadroom, jacuzzi tub, hot tub on deck and beautiful surroundings. It was an extremely enjoyable stay the only issue was the bed mattress being rather hard which was probably put in new as part of the nice renovation from a few years ago... boy the mattress that we slept on 15 years ago and several times up to this stay was very soft and comfortable but after so many years I'm sure it was time for a change. Softer would be better - lol!
A very wonderful and memorable stay - we'll do it again sometime! -

My husband and I honeymooned in the Canoodle Nest and we couldn't have had a more romantic stay. The view was amazing and the chalet was perfect and cozy. We have visited Gatlinburg twice since our honeymoon but the Canoodle Nest wasn't available either time. We have been extremely pleased with Mountain Laurel and will continue to vacation with them. However, we haven't found another place quite like the Canoodle Nest!

Great, great view. Made excellent use of the hot tub. The chalet wasn't that hard to get to and we settled in quickly. Felt the price was reasonable, especially considering the cabin felt pretty spacious for two people.
Only complaint would be that the chalet is overdue for some new furniture.
Overall had an awesome stay! -

We received good service and the ladies at Mountain Laurel Chalets was very helpful and ready to help in any way.
The home was not done justice by the pics and previous reviews. It all just takes your breath away. I was so comfy just like I was in my own home. Of course the hot tub was a plus and the views of the mountains OMG!
Yeah the driveway was a bit tricky but what do you expect your in the mountains!!! -

My boyfriend was home on leave from afghanistan and we wanted to get away from home for a few days. We enjoyed our stay. Some things could use an update (things in the kitchen) but for the most part it was a very nice trip. Also, its not very private. Im sure out neighbors could see right in the windows beside the stairs. We would defenitely do this again though.

we always rent with you all & this was no exception. The house was darling, the only thing they need to do is put lighting out by the stairs leading up to the deck & a light into the parking area. It is way tooo dark & someone can easily get injured with it being so dark when returning at night & having to get to the deck. The entry to the driveway is really a very sharp left from the road & there could be someway to enter easier. The house was perfect for just the two of us & the hot tub was great. Our best was the encounter with the year old or year & 1/2 bear on the deck, my husband had just sat down with his dinner when I came out with my dinner & right behind my husband was this darling face looking at me & if Ron had put his hand back he would have been petting the top of a furry black bear's head. Just my saying "Oh my God" & they both took off, Ron for the living rm & the bear back down the driveway I think. I am wondering if people staying there have been feeding the bear as he kinda had not too much fear since he was sooo close to Ron. He was at the corner where you come around the stairs to the deck...half of him still behind the stone wall, the front half right behind Ron. So talk about a close encounter of the furry kind ! All's well that ends well. We will rent from you next yr probably same time & perhaps the Canoodle again. I will remember my sketch pad & pens the next time as I forgot them this time. I have to tell you, you are the only chalets we ever rent from as you do a great job, & we appreciate what you do.

Spectacular view of The Smokies off a nice big deck with jacuzzi. Far enough away from town, but not too far. Only a few minutes car ride to Smnp. We saw a large adult black bear just a few yards from our deck! We were very pleased and hope to return next year. Front desk was very nice. Canoodle Nest was pretty awesome.

Left on 07/27/2010 for a stay in July 2010
We pulled into the "nest" on Thursday July 22nd. The nest was very clean and cozy. This was our 25 year marriage retreat and boy we had a great time. Sitting out on the deck and listening to the sounds of birds. The bed was a little hard for me. We used the hot tub a few times at night as it did cool off. We didnt see any bears until we packed up on Sunday and put a bag of trash on the hood of the car to bring to the cage. We pulled down the driveway and a big ole bear stopped and looked at us. Lucky for me I had the video recorder going. Wow that was pretty cool. I do suggest to drive your trash down to the cage. Well everything was great and we will be back. Cheers

Left on 06/10/2010 for a stay in May 2010
Lisa and I spent a few days in the Canoodle Nest for our birthdays. It is an incredible place. Big, open, pretty spacious. Great for two. The huge jacuzzi inside was very cool and being out in the hot tub at night was amazing.
Can't say enough good things about the place. It was clean, tidy and thoughtfully decorated. Very pleasant to stay in and come back to after a day out and about. The bed could use a new mattress, but otherwise, it was wonderful.
We were told about Bears when we got there... yea, yea yea... they always say that in Gatlinburg. Lisa had two birthday wishes - to ride the ski lift and see a bear. On the morning of her birthday I was out on the deck and a big ole bear came out from under the deck and wandered over towards our car to pose for pictures before sauntering down the driveway.

This was my wife's and I first chalet experience. It was a good one. The chalet was very rustic and had plenty of charm. It was perfect for the two of us.We enjoyed the covered hot tub, as it rained the two days we stayed. We were quite content in the warm atmosphere of the chalet, and only went into town once. The roads as stated by others demanded caution, but remember this is the "moutians". The only real complaint we had was the security light next door.It should be relocated that it at least blinds both chalets. The driveway is a little tricky, but managable. Overall it was a good time, and look forward to returning in the fall.

Despite a fairly good "snowstorm" during our stay, we had a wonderful 28th wedding anniversary celebration in the Canoodle Nest. The Chalet was clean, warm, "sexy" and most inviting. There is nothing negative I could say about our stay - from the Mountain Laurel staff right thru the chalet itself. We definitely plan on coming back again!

Left on 11/30/2009 for a stay in November 2009
Everyone at Mtn. Laurel Chalets was so nice. We didn't really need too much from them except confirming reservation, checking in and checking out. Our cabin - the Canoodle Nest - was very nice. The location was beautiful (great view) and we really enjoyed the hot tub outside. The updated bathroom was nice also and everything was very clean. We think the cabin could use a few updates and some repairs (several of the blinds were broken/bent). Could be time for a new couch and it would be nice to have something to put your feet up on while relaxing in front of the fire. We liked the hot tub, the fireplace, and the view the best. The roads on the mountain were very confusing, especially at night. We least liked the couch, bed (a little too firm for me), and trying to find the cabin.
Overall though we had a fantastic time and would love to come back sometime. Thanks!! -

Left on 10/28/2009 for a stay in October 2009
The staff at Mountain Laurel Chalets were friendly, efficient and helpful - it was very easy booking the chalet and checking in and out.
The house itself was fantastic! Beautiful view of Mt LaConte, and the house was very clean. The hot tub was used every day, the jacuzzi was used everyday, and the fireplace was used every day - what more could a person want?
I also really liked the tall windows giving us a view of the back side of the property, it made us feel like we really were nestled in the woods.
Honestly, there was nothing I disliked about the home, and we will definitely be visiting the Canoodle Nest again in the future. -

This home is perfect for a getaway for two. It has all the amenities we wanted, jacuzzi, hot tub, 2 person shower. The house is just beautiful, and the view of Mt. Leconte is incredible. You can see the ski lift lit up at night, and the stars are shining bright on clear nights.
Our whole trip was very memorable, we even saw a bear cub cross the road, and my husband saw two huge wild turkeys.
We had no problems at all! The last night we were there, we had noisy neighbors down the mountain, but other than that everything was perfect. Thank you to Mountain Laurel Chalets. -

We are not sure where to start. The scenery is beautiful, the cabin is wonderful and the people were so nice. We were there on our honeymoon and we fell in love with the place as soon as we woke up in the morning and saw it, (we got in at 2:00 a.m.). The roads going to and from are a bit scary and hard on your car, but ours did fine. We would just like to say thank you for a wonderful experience.

We enjoyed every minute! The Caboodle's Nest was all we expected and more. Being a clean freak, the accomodations were immaculate and well take care of. We had been warned of the odd angle of the drive way, and it was a challenge; but we had it by the 2nd day. The folks at the Chalet office were friendly and more than helpful. If dining in, be sure and take necessary condiments, ice, etc. as they are not provided. We planned on going into town more than we did, but it was so beautiful we ended up staying on the porch for some much needed rest. This place is perfect for two people and romantic too! Richard and I would recommend Mountain Laurel Chalets to anyone and especially the Caboodle's Nest! (except on the week we'll be going back!)

This place is GODS country no doubt about it. The View was Spectacular,The chalet was Adorable. it was just what we needed to feel rejuvenated and re-energized. I highly recommend it to anyone who is just going for a little getaway or a nice long vacation --It was just so beautiful up there, we took like a million pictures (of the sunrise, of the snow covered mountains across from us ) my sister who has been out to Colorado a couple times says she thinks the mountains in Tenn. looks better than Colorados and the town (Gatlinburg) looked like a winter wonderland. whether we were in the hot tub in 32 degree weather sipping wine or snuggled up under a blankie on the couch in front of a roaring fire (which they keep you stocked in firewood) just watching TV my husband and I just reconnected (we have been together 20 years ) and it was just so nice and relaxing and stress free ,I guess what I am trying to say is I LOVED IT!! We are returning in Jan.2009 and we WILL be using Mountain Laurel again! Thanks for a wonderful 5 days.Connie & Jeff

We spent a wonderful weekend at the Canoodle Nest and had a wonderful time. This is the first time that we stayed in a vacation rental home instead of a hotel -- and it was perfect. It's even nicer than the pictures of the web!
Would definitely recommend this house - especially if you're bringing kids. Take note that the rooms are not sound proof; in fact there is not so much of a wall to speak off .. sounds strange but it give a very nice airy feeling to the room; remember to take that into consideration for your planning.
Also, there's a hot tub both inside the house & one outside the house ... wonderful place to relax after a day of outdoor activities.
We cooked & grill outside and we actually found some time to relax on our vacation! Hopefully will be here again
the following year.
Enjoy. -

We spent a wonderfully quiet and secluded weekend for our 25th Anniversary at the Canoodle Nest.
We were not disappointed, the chalet is beautiful! Nestled in the mountains the view is amazing and we couldn't have asked for better weather.
We took our coffee out on the deck each morning and drenched ourselves in the fresh air and wonder of the sounds of nature that surrounded us.
We completely utilized the bbq grill and the kitchen was complete with everything we needed to prepare a wonderful anniversary dinner. The accommodations were most comfortable.
This is a wonderful chalet for honeymooners or a couple just wanting to get away from the hustle of life.
Two of my favorite amenities would have to be the jacuzzi and the fireplace that added to the romance and ambiance of this special weekend.
We will definitely return. -

I liked the coziness of the chalet & view, but at the time we stayed the blinds facing the bed where the morning sun came through were messed up and because of the height, we had no way of trying to fix them. Also, I think it is a little overpriced, according to some of the ones we've stayed at with the same rental company.

The chalet was very pretty, with spectacular views.
The only issue we had was the bed was like sleeping on a concrete slab. -

This was our first time in Gatlinburg, and the Canoodle Nest was a perfect place to headquarter. Just minutes from the National Park and all the other tourist activities, the views and ambiance were stellar. It was a very hot and dry August, so we also enjoyed the various swimming pools that were available to the renters.
We especially enjoyed evenings in the outdoor hot tub at sunset.
If this property has been renovated, we're sure they only improve it...things were a bit dated. Minor inconveniences for all the great things about the locale.
One word of warning...the driveway entrance is very tricky and difficult to access from the down-mountain approach. Best to access by going past the entrance, turn around, then come downhill and go up via that approach. We had car repairs after we returned home due to body damage to the bumpers and underside of the front and back of the car, which is not a big vehicle to begin with.
That being said, the overall experience was so good that the car damage was 'worth it', actually. -

The weather was great. Warm weather and low humidity which made the mountain views great. The house was very cozy and made you feel like you were at home.
