the place is well maintained and as seen on the photos. The house was cleaned good, but floors needed some more cleaning. The kitchen has all the items and gadget that one may need. It has good privacy and view, all rooms have items/amenities . The reason we give it a 4 star is that parking is at steep slope and is challenging in wet weather conditions and if it was cleaned well we would have given it a 5 star. We would definately consider staying at Early Dawn again in summer.

Great place to stay and relax. Very clean and what a beuatiful house. I can honestly say I would stay here again for my next vacation to Gatlinburg. Quiet,Very Clean,updated,fully stocked kitchen, has everything you need. The only negative is the drive to get to the cabin is a pretty steep 1.3 mile drive. The drive is worth it though.

This is the 2nd year in a row we have stayed in this cabin. It is breathtaking...amazing views and the cabin itself is beautiful!! The front desk staff are always so sweet and curtious. I have absolutely no complaints about mountain laurel and plan to go back again in the years to come and stay in Early Dawn!!

Our stay in Early Dawn was fabulous!!! We enjoyed everything about this cabin. It was very nice and clean. The iron was broken but besides that everything was excellent!!! The staff in the Mt. Laurel office were very nice and helpful. We will definitely be staying here in the future!!!

Clean house with nice lay out. bedrooms separated by a floor. It has a well equiped kitchen, but Oven was very slow to warm and cook the frozen pizza , and upper aC was not adequate to cool the hot days.

Thanks for letting us know about the AC and oven. The bake element has been replaced in the oven and there was a piece of insulation obstructing the flow of air to the upstairs. So, now it is back to perfect! Hope to see you again soon.

My first Mountain Laurel rental experience. It was great! I have been coming to the Smokies for both meetings and pleasure for years and had always rented from another company. Mountain Laurel Chalets has the benefit of same pricing all year as opposed to "seasonal" prices as some other rental companies do.
Early Dawn was an exceptionally nice chalet. Very roomy, nice woodburning fireplace, great deck with hot tub. My only recommendation would be a large doormat right inside the front door. I was there during a very rainy week, and the all hardwood floors were a little slick with wet shoes on.
Will definately use Mountain Laurel for all my future rental needs in the Smokies area!! -

The cabin was beautiful and very clean. It was equipped with everything you need for a vacation. The only complaint I had was there were not enough washclothes and towels for the whole stay. You had to go to the office each day for new towels unless you washed them yourself, which wasn't a huge problem, just a slight inconvenience.

We have used Mountain Laurel for many years now and would not think of using any other company! Thank you to everyone there, especially Connie! We stayed in Early Dawn for four nights and loved the house! It did not bother us that there were just a few window treatments because the house offered lots of privacy for us. Our only negative comment would be in regards to the living room tv. We didn't watch tv very much because we found the screen to be too small for the size of the room and the furniture placement. But other than that we had everything we needed. The view was very nice, lots of leaf color to enjoy right outside our windows. Plus waking up to snow one morning was a treat! We plan to definitely come back to this house in the future. Thank you again Mountain Laurel staff...may God bless you all!

We expected the Early Dawn to be more isolated than it was. Houses all around, front, behind and on each side. We wish there would have been some blinds, we felt as if we were on display or something. The screened in porch on the top level had a tear in it, making it a haven for wasps, couldn't enjoy that one bit because of the big nest on the ceiling. The young lady that checked us in was wonderful, The older, short lady that checked us out was awful, if she was the one that checked us in and acted like she did, we probably would have cancelled on the spot and made other plans, she is not a people person. Overall we had a terrific vacation. We will definately stay with Mr. Laurel again. Although the Early Dawn is pretty, we will try a different chalet, just for a change. Maybe more isolated and private (blinds).

Service from staff was excellent. We loved staying at Early Dawn because the chalet was so roomy and had all the amenities we needed. We especially enjoyed the hot tub and pool room. The laundry facilities also came in handy.

We loved staying at Early Dawn. The view was great for the price of the chalet and the chalet was very homey. There was an issue with the cable/internet but that did not prevent us from enjoying our vacation. My first time in the mountains so I was a little leery about the drive to our chalet!!! I didn't realize you could drive up roads that steep. Parking was a little tight also at the chalet but if you pull in backwards your truck fits like a charm. We are already planning to come back next year!! Hopefully next year I will see a bear :)

We had a wonderful time staying at Early Dawn in Gatlinburg this past spring. The house is very roomy and well constructed with beautiful woodsy views of the Smokys in the distance. The enterance to the Smoky Mountain National Park is only about 10 minutes away.
Being from Illinois, we were a bit suprised at the steepness of the roads to get to the house and the slant of the parking space in front of the house was a little steeper than we are used to. We quickly learned how to down shift and use the parking brakes and by the end of the week it was no problem!
We would definately return to Early Dawn and look forward to future Smoky Mountain vacations! -

Early Dawn is a great chalet. We have stayed in several of Mountain Laurel Chalets, and have never been disappointed. The staff is always very friendly and the Chalets very clean. The hot tub and pool table in Early Dawn are great. There are a lot of steps in the Chalet, there are three floors, so if you don't want to climb steps, this probably wouldn't be the best chalet for you, but we loved it!

This is definitely the best chalet we have stayed in. We loved the hard wood floors throughout, the decor, the beds, the view and the three decks. The parking was not as tight as we had expected from reading other renters reviews (and we own a Chevy Tahoe - not a small car). The chalet was clean, well decorated and stocked with all of the essentials. The kitchen accessories were of good quality, and we found ourselves needing nothing during out stay. We would have liked cable in the upstairs bedroom (our daughters were bummed about not being able to watch cartoons in bed) and a tv in the downstairs bedroom (we're spoiled by watching the news in bed at night). Other than that, we were very pleasantly surprised. I would recommend this chalet to anyone. It was absolutely gorgeous and convenient for all of our activities.

We booked online and everything was exactly as we expected on checkin. The directions were clear and we found our rental property easily. The roads are winding and steep but in dry weather they are not a problem. Early Dawn is an amazing property, there is a great view of the Smokies and the sun rises outside in the most amazing colors every morning. The lot is shielded from the adjoining properties so privacy was never a problem. The furnishings are great and there was plenty of kitchen appliances and dishes though we ate out most times. A great spot we would revisit.

David and I have been coming to Mountain Laurel for years. Early Dawn is by far one of THE NICEST properties we've ever stayed in! It was so beautiful and so comfortable, we did not want to leave! Love the windows,

We have rented through Mountain Laurel for the past 5 yrs. This was the first time at Early Dawn.
We enjoyed our stay tremendously! The view was excellent. We especially enjoyed it from the hot tub. Everything we needed was there. We had a couple of rainy days and the pool table was perfect for filling in some time.
There is plenty of room for two couples without getting in each others "space".
I did think the cleaning crew missed a few spots - behind the bathroom door in the master bath on the top floor, and the dining room furniture was dusty. All in all, it was a great place and we will definitely stay there again. -

We have rented chalets with Mtn Laurel Chalets for many years. This was the first time we stayed at Early Dawn and it has now become our favorite. The view is wonderful and we loved the closeness to downtown. The upstairs screen porch is wonderful!!! The parking is a little tight since it is so close to the road, but other than that, we loved our stay and the house. My son thought the pool table was awesome. Will definitely stay here again.

This was a very nice chalet. The three levels make it great for multiple couples who want to stay together but want privacy too. Bedroom top and bottom, living space and kitchen in the middle. The chalet was more up to date than others I have stayed in, and the architectural design really made you feel like you were staying in a vacation home rather than just a house on a mountain with a spectacular view. My only negative comments are that the parking was very tight and it wasn't overly private. We have a small SUV so we were able to get in and out fairly easily, but a truck or large SUV may have some problems as it is right on the road. It also wasn't as secluded as some of the other chalets, you could see other chalets from the windows. Although the only place you feel exposed is on the stairwell which is not that big a deal, and it is very nice aesthetically. Overall a solid chalet.

Myself, my daughter, and two granddaughters try to vacation at least once a year together for some much needed girl time. We loved the cabin and will no doubt come back to Gatlinburg again. Every thing in the cabin was beautiful and the view from the cabin was spectacular. At night we could see the tram come up the mountain and just to the right of our cabin. The lights in Gatlinburg at night were amazing. We were just talking last night about next years trip. Fun Fun Fun

We go to Gatlinburg at least twice every year. We own a time share and stay there once, but we also like to stay in the chalets, so we try to stay in one of them each year. We've stayed with Mountain Laurel numerous times, but this was our favorite chalet. We actually preferred it to the time share we own. Access was easy, the view was absolutely great, and the amenities were wonderful. Additionally, parking was easy, which is not always true of some chalets. We were very comfortable and we determined that this is the chalet we will return to again and again.

The view was spectacular. We loved the screened-in private balcony on the top level. This property was perfect for our family. We had our privacy in the top level and the 3 kids loved their own bedroom and game room. Very comfortable place to be to spend quality time with your spouse or the whole family.

We had a blast staying here. We usually stay on Ski Mountain Road, or just off Ski Mountain Road. This location was closer to town than we have ever stayed. Beautiful sun rises. Loved the house plans. Wonderful upstairs bedroom. Hope to stay here again.
