Stayed in this cabin about 10 years ago and enjoyed it then and enjoyed it again this time. It is a great value for the money. Could use some updating but the décor is not bad. Enjoyed reading about other peoples stay including ours from 10 years ago.

Service was great. We were a little confused at first on the pricing, but we got it all situated when we checked out. Everyone was nice and very helpful. We learned now it's better to reserve by calling and not reserving online. The home was very nice and clean. Love the grill outside upstairs. The only thing that didn't work out was the tub inside didn't stay hot enough to fill up, but we just used the hot tub outside and it was great. Beds could have been a bit softer to our needs, but was still nice. Location was good. It was nice and private. We had a very nice weekend stay there.

The house was great ,however the drive up to it was a bit scary the 1st few times.(We are from Michigan--not use to Mtns) We thoroughly enjoyed the house with the jaccuzi and the hot tub.The view was good too and close to the pool for the kids. Staff at the office was very kind and easy to work with and very helpful with directions and advice for tourists.

The chalet was awesome. Great view and nice amenities!!!
However, I had a scary experience on morning when my family went out for the day. I opened the door to place my five year old son in the back seat. Here comes a bear and the bear gets up in the car. We go inside and helplessly watch the bear have his way with the car!!! The bear finally got out of the car and went his way. However, we spotted the momma bear and two more cubs later in the day near the chalet. What if I had placed my five year old in the car and the bear had gotten up in the car with him!!! This is very dangerous for such a vacation spot where many visit! I think that you need to call a ranger or whatever power that be to remove these bears to the national park!!! I have enjoyed staying with you all for many years but have never had this! -

This is our 2nd time renting from Mt Laurel Chalets. We always receive excellent customer service from the rental staff. The first cabin we rented was excellent, but Traveler's Rest needs to be completely recarpeted, and the cleaning crew needs to do a much better job of cleaning. After walking around for 1/2 an hour, our bare feet were black from the dirt. I accidentally spilled a little water in the kitchen and it turned to mud from the dirt on the tile. My 5 year old daughter got a glass shard stuck in her foot as she was walking down the carpeted stairs. The 2 bedrooms are in the basement and so there is a terrible problem with spiders. Yes, I know the chalet is in the woods, and spiders should be expected. But, we killed 5 spiders in our bedroom in a 2 hour period. I asked the office to please spray, and they happily did so for us. The seals around the doors are not tight, so the bugs get in that way. The stove is ancient, one of the burners wouldn't work properly, there was only 1 frying pan, there was trash in the woods left over from previous renters (beer cans, twist off beer caps, etc). Would rent again, but not this cabin.

Very nice, quiet chalet hidden in the mountains. Check-in and out were both hassle free. The chalet is very well-kept and has modest amenities for the price. We enjoyed our stay and had surprise snow on the last day that kept us from enjoying the outdoor hot tub but that was okay. We just wanted to stay in and enjoy each other and this is a wonderful place for that.

My husband and I enjoyed our stay in this old school home. By this, I mean the decor was a little 1970's style, but with a few upgrades. This really didn't bother us too much other than the teenie TVs in the bedrooms. We loved the hot tub and used it every night! We cooked in a lot and found everything we needed in the kitchen. A couple of suggestions would be to upgrade the TVs and get new mattresses as they were super firm. This did not bother my husband but I felt like I was sleeping on a board. Also, there were no clocks in the bedrooms and we thought some clocks with docking for iPods would be a nice addition. Overall, we would rent this house again, if only for the great hot tub!!

We had a wonderful stay in the Travlers Rest. It is a very pretty home. Lots of space and very quite. It was higher up on the mountain than what we thought. That made it even better. We highly recommend this home to anyone.

We love to stay at Traveler's Rest because year after year we know what to expect, we know it will be clean, it has a great view, it is easy to drive to from Sky Mtn. Rd., the wrap around sofa gives my husband and myself enough room to recline, it is very quiet, the oversized whirlpool between the den and kitchen with its own hot water heater is big enough for both of us, the 2 bedrooms and baths give us plenty of space, the lighting in every room is excellent including the side lights going up the stairs. A lot of thought was put into the design of this chalet and we appreciate it.

Check in was easy & fast, people were very friendly. Love staying in the mountains of Gatlinburg making this chalet the perfect choice for my husband & I. Close enough to town and the bypass but, far enough away to feel like you are away from it all. Chalet very cozy...love the oversized tub in the living area!!!

We stayed at the Travlers Rest in March it was wonderful! The view was great and we had a visit each day from a bear. There were 2 adults and 3 children and we had ample space for everyone. We actually enjoyed it so much we spent an extra day.

Our family really did enjoy our stay! As always, the staff is excellent & I always recommend Mountain Laurel Chalets to our friends/family. Our cabin was nice, but it was laid out a little funny. As soon as you walk into the cabin, you have a choice of either going upstairs or downstairs. Upstairs was the kitchen/living room and downstairs being the bedrooms. We felt a little separated at times, but overall, enjoyed our stay. The cabin could use a thorough cleaning, but it was not so bad that it interrupted our stay. Overall, it was a relaxing and fun mini vaca!

We loved staying in this chalet. It was very comfortable and homey. It was wonderful for a family of 4. The view was beautiful and the trees were nice as well. Love the fact that this chalet is Non-smoking that is extremely important to us since I am pregnant and we have a child with asthma. Very clean and well taken care of. Had a lovely time!!

Traveler's Rest was a very nice weekend retreat for my group. The house was very roomy although the view wasn't as good as some of the chalets I have rented in the same area. Overall, it was very quiet, clean, and spacious.

Our home was very clean and just wanted we needed. It had everything we were looking for. The location was perfect. We were not to high up in the mountains. The service we received was great. The kids liked the hottub. One of our children liked sitting outside to eat breakfast.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Travelers Rest. The chalet was beautifully furnished and decorated. We loved the openness of the living room and dining room. Both bedrooms downstairs have their own full bathroom. The view was spectacular from the deck where we ate our meals. This chalet has been our favorite and we have been coming to the Smokies for seven years.

The service at the front desk was great as always.
The house was very comfortable. Had everything we needed. The jacuzzi was great because of where it was located (between the kitchen and living room).
Had a visit from a little fat raccoon that scared my wife silly. The only thing that I can honestly say that I did not like about the house is the gold wall that has the fireplace on it. -

This is a very nice Chalet. A beautiful view from the living room window. The place could use an update. The driveway isn't the best, but out of the ones I saw in the area, this is probably one of the best. I would stay again.

Our stay with Mountain Laurel Chalets was great and our stay at Traveler's Rest was good. We will definetly book again with Mtn. Laurel, but will try a different chalet (see below for reason).
The set up of the house was perfect for our family of 5 - 2 bedrooms downstairs, living area upstairs. There was an open room at the bottom of the stairs with a futon that one of my children slept on.
The kitchen was adequately sized and stocked with anything we would have needed.
The only negative remark about this house, was that the beds were very firm and thus uncomfortable for myself and my husband. If you like firm mattresses, then this place is for you. -

Overall, we were very pleased with Traveler's Rest. We stayed in Canoodle Nest for our honeymoon in 2002, and this chalet was definitely more modern looking. You could see other chalets from out deck, but it was quiet. The bedrooms were on the bottom floor, which we liked because we could hear our two-year-old wake up in the morning. He especially liked playing in the large whirlpool tub and climbing up and down the stairs.
Just a few complaints with the chalet: (1)The driveway was short, but still awkward to navigate. I would not feel comfortable having more than one vehicle there. Of course, there isn't much that can be done about that--but just a warning.(2)The mattresses were not very soft. We stayed in a hotel on our way home, and their mattresses were much softer. (3)The closet door to the washer/dryer was broken. It was nice to do our laundry there, but the door kept hitting my back whenever I'd get things in or out of the washer.
I would recommed this chalet just for the quiet and nice view. The chalet had great windows. Mountain Laurel has always had great customer service, and we will always use them when we vacation on Gatlinburg. We were very happy to have a non-smoking chalet! You need more of those so people have more chalets to choose from. -

We had a great time in the smokeys.Your chalet wss very nice,clean,remote location and we truly enjoyed the Mama Bear and her two cubs. The hot tub was relaxing. You have a very nice home.We certainly will return.

We stayed here with 2 kids and one set of grandparents. There was plenty of room for all of us. We really enjoyed the hot tub. It snowed while we were there and the yard was great for snowmen and a snowball fight. It was convenient to both Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge. As always the staff of Mtn. Laurel was great and we had no complaints about the cabin or staff. It was great to have 2 king beds so that we didn't have to fight over who got to sleep in the bigger bed and the futon near the bar area was great for the kids. We cooked 2 dinner meals in the chalet and the kitchen was well equipped with everything we needed. It was a great stay and would stay there again in the future!

My husband and I rented the chalet for a long weekend. It was ideal for our mini vacation. I loved the floor plan but would have like the space upstairs where the whirlpool tub is as living space. The driveway was somewhat of a challenge. The chalet was clean and well decorated. We have rented with Mountain Laurel Chalets in the past and will rent from them again - our experience with them is always pleasant. The staff has always been helpful.

My daughter and I spent a week at Traveler's Rest, and absolutely loved it. The chalet was beautiful! It was very clean and comfortable, and had everything we could possibly need for our stay. We loved the hot tub, and spent lots of time on the deck, just relaxing with nature. It was much larger than I expected, and we felt at home as soon as we walked in. And, it's a short, easy drive to downtown Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge. I've already recommended Traveler's Rest to my friends and family. Also, the staff at Mountain Laurel Chalets is top notch. They were extremely friendly and helpful.

The service at Mountain Laurel was wonderful as always. The people that work there are great to work with you. We have stayed at several chalets with Mtn laurel,Travelers Rest is one of our favorites. The kitchen is well stocked, very clean and comfortable great for small family or couples. When we go again we will choose this cabin.

My Mom, my sister, my niece and myself spent a long weekend at Travelers Rest. The staff at Mtn Laurel were great, everyone was so nice and helpful. Traveler's Rest looked almost exactly like the pictures from the website both inside and out. We enjoyed the hot tub and jacuzzi, spending time on the deck and inside just relaxing. We really liked having the kitchen and grill so we could eat-in when we wanted. This was our first time renting a house for vacation and now we think it's the only way to stay. We would recommend Mountain Laurel and Travelers Rest to anyone.

Travelers Rest is a beautiful chalet, and I highly recommend it to anyone wanting a little piece of heaven away from home. The furnishings are very comfortable. The kitchen is fully stocked, all you need to bring is your food. The views are awesome, we got snow which made the views even more spectacular. We will definitely be visiting again.

WE HAD A WONDERFUL TIME AT "TRAVELER'S REST" THE HOUSE WAS CLEAN AND VERY NICE. THE LIVING ROOM AND KITCHEN BEING JOINED BY THE WHIRLPOOL WAS A CLEAVER IDEA--ONE OF A KIND. YOU WERE ABLE TO WATCH TV AS WELL AS ENJOY THE VIEW FROM THE WINDOW. WE ENJOYED USING THE GRILL ON THE DECK TO MAKE A ROMANTIC DINNER,TO BE EATEN BY THE FIRE AND CANDLE LIGHT. THE WET BAR AREA DOWN STAIRS IS VERY COZY, AND A GOOD WAY TO HAVE THE BEDROOMS DEVIDED. THE HOT TUB BEING ACCESSABLE TO BOTH BEDROOMS WAS VERY NICE. THE MANY WINDOWS MADE YOU FEEL LIKE YOU WERE OUTSIDE, BUT WITH THE COMFORT OF BEING IN A WARM CHALET. OUR FAMILY IS PLANNING ON RETURNING AGAIN IN THE NEXT MONTH OR TWO IF POSSIBLE (WITH OUR CHILDREN).

We stayed in the Traveler's rest for our honeymoon. Matt husband had never been to the mountains, so he was amazed on how wonderful it was. We even had bears visit our place! I know my family will be visiting again in the near future.

This is a very quiet unit with ok veiw in summer.Bears are very active in this area along with a full time resident that blow's canned boat horn at the sight of any bear's passing thru (very obnoxious)The bed's are hard as a rock but other than that enjoyed stay very much.

For many years , we have spent our anniversary in this beautiful chalet.Since it is winter, the fireplace and everyting about the property provides the most romantic experience possible. We take everything we need and only rest and enjoy being together without outside influences. It always make me feel like Queen for a Day in this beautiful home. The inside hot tub adds to the romantic flavor of the chalet.

We spent the week with our daughter and son-in-law to celebrate their first anniversary. The home was nice and well equipped. The location and view were also very nice and we even had a visit by a couple of black bears which made the vacation memorable.

This was my second time staying at Travelers Rest and I look forward to the next chance I get to come back. This house is wonderful for a quiet weekend. The hot tub is my favorite part but just sitting on the deck and looking at the view is wonderful. It has everything you would need, so you do not need to leave the house the entire time. I hope everyone else enjoys the house like I did.
