We went to Emotional Rescue for a week over the New Year holiday. We are all teachers and we went to celebrate two of us turning the big 50! We had a wonderful time. The home was beautiful, inviting, roomy, and fun! We played pool, cooked, played in the snow, sat around the fire enjoying great wine and friendships. The house was perfect! The beds were comfortable and the kitchen had all the things you could possibly need. The family that owns Emotional Rescue sent a nice box of chocolate for the birthdays. We will go back next year and this is the place we will stay! Go and have fun.
Great place to stay!

Emotional Rescue was wonderful! Plenty of room for my immediate and extended family. The cabin had all the comforts of home and the beds were very comfortable! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay!
Eight of us thoroughly enjoyed the cabin during our stay!

This cabin was furnished in the kitchen better than any other place we have rented with any appliance you could wish for right down to a Kurieg coffee maker. It was nicely furnished with four king-sized beds. My only complaint that I could possibly say about this cabin is the mattresses are extremely firm. The cabin is on top of the resort mountain with spectacular views. Both decks contained several rocking chairs, a porch swing on the upper deck and hot tub on the lower deck. Each bedroom had French doors that opened out to the decks. Awesome cabin, extremely clean, washer and dryer. Would definitive recommend to any one. Our last night, we did have a bear that did damage to the outside garbage container.

Very spacious. The 4 king size beds with bath was perfect for our 7 adults. The 2 balconies were nice to drink coffee on in the mornings. Check in was very quick however check out was not as pain less. I had to make 4 calls to speak with someone before they answered. Do not recommend if bad weather on the roads. However, they may maintain well, in bad weather. Everything clean! Owners pay attention to small details. Wish I had known all that was in cabin before going such as K cup coffee maker.
Nice, clean place but not supplied well

While the house was clean and nicely furnished we were surprised how little was supplied. There were dishes and cookware but no salt, no pepper, enough toilet paper and dish soap for one - two days even though we were there for a week. The sign marking the way had been torn down so the house was a little hard to find. Paint the speed bumps!!! Upon entering there are unmarked speed bumps that will take out the bottom of your car if you don't see them.
A wonderful vacation!

I stressed over renting a cabin in the Smokies after getting burned once in Maggie Valley. We had the best time ever in the most beautiful, well equipped cabin we could have chosen! Their were 10 of us, my children and grandchildren and their was more than enough room for all of us. The cabin was spotless, well appointed and the view was a amazing off the decks. We would like to thank the owner and Jackson Mtn for our best vacation ever! The cabin is just as pictured and you will love it!
Great place to relax and enjoy the mountains.

This was a great property. Well appointed kitchen, well maintained property. Plenty of room . The mountain views were very scenic.
The beds are Very firm. Bedrooms are all pretty private , nice to have your own bathroom and shower. Loved the fact that I could do some laundry and not have to pack so many clothes.Pretty short trip to town. A little confusing at first, but being lost was very scenic also..
Accommodates 8 adults comfortably if there were more people they should probably be kids. Plenty for everyone to occupy themselves.

Couple of rainy days didn't dampen the mood. Great to watch the storms come in. Only drawback was TV. Not accessible for hooking up blu ray player. Only allow dvd. Wireless was great.

We have rented several cabins in Black Bear Falls, and this was one of the nicest ones. The only negative would be lack of comfortable seating to accommodate the number of guest in the living room. We had eight people that wanted to sit together so some had to sit at the bar or at the dining table. This kitchen was very workable, but was not as well equipped as some. The view was outstanding, and the out door seating was very good. The beds were very good also. We always look for king beds, and private baths for each bedroom and this filled that need. We had friends from out of state, that had never been to Black Bear Falls, and they were very impressed.

I look forward to the Gatlinburg trip with my spouse and friends every year. We decided to stay at Emotional Rescue a 2nd time b/c we loved it so much the 1st time. It is well accommodated and roomy and we love staying in Black Bear Falls - you can feel secluded but know you are right in the middle of town at the same time.
My only real complaint is that the beds are really uncomfortable. I don't remember them being this bad last time - they are really hard. I thought it was just me b/c I am pregnant, but everyone else complained too. If you can't replace the beds, maybe some mattress toppers or something would be a nice idea. But we do love this cabin and will return! Read more
Thank you for taking the time to review your most recent stay at Emotional Rescue. We are happy to hear that you loved it - again! We apologize that you experienced any discomfort from the beds. We will have them assessed right away. We appreciate you bringing this to our attention and your understanding. We look forward to seeing all of you again!
We are happy to report that in consideration of your comment, the owner has replaced all of the beds and looks forward to your next visit at Emotional Rescue!

The cabin was a little smaller than what the pictures showed, but I guess it's all the way you look at it. The only thing I can say for myself was the bathroom connected to my bedroom was not clean!!! I can't speak for the others cause I was not in their bathroom. We had a bear come two nights got into the garbage can ( they weight a ton) I don't see how they did it the garbage can was locked well he did turn it over twice. I must say the view of the mountains was beautiful from the porch. The people at the office was very friendly and helpful. The parking was great when you got over going down hill. Thanks for letting us come and enjoy your cabins. Again the bathroom could be cleaner . P.L. Read more

The cabin was all that was described and more, beautiful views, lots of room for the 9 of us. Everything we needed was there which was great, grocery store not far from cabin. We had fun playing pool, hanging out on the beautiful decks - rocking in rocking chairs and swings. We even had a visit to our trash from a bear!! Very relaxing and enjoyable time by all. We have already planned our trip back next year!! Jackson Mountain Homes was awesome, we had an issue with the hottub not working and they had someone there within 20-30 minutes!! Only recommendation is to replace the matresses on the fold out couches they were not comfortable but the two teenage boys who were sleeping on them just slept on the couches themselves. Only thing I would change!! Read more

This is our second year staying at Black Bear Falls. The previous 3 bedroom unit; as well as, the four bedroom Emotional Rescue exceeded our expectations. The kitchens are well stocked with supplies, the furnishings are beautiful and comfortable, and the views are spectacular! I highly recommend the community and Emotional Rescue to families looking for a relaxing vacation. We did have a bear encounter at the cabin which was quite exciting. Jackson Mtn Homes sent someone to our cabin to ease our mInds and he gave us a personal bear do's and don't "lesson". He was great but please pay attention to the bear alerts that JMH provides. We were never in danger but they really are serious when they tell you bears are in the area! Thanks to JMH and the owners of Emotional Rescue for providing a great place to stay. We will certainly be back!

The cabin was immaculate as advertised. The view was exceptional as well. There are many cabins in close proximity, however, it seems like your own vacation spot.
However, we did not appreciate the gas powered weed whippers starting up at 7 am. There was some tree trimming involving chain saws as well. For the amount of the rental cost, I think it would have been more courteous to at least wait until 9 am. Read more

We really had a great time at the cabin. It is difficult to find, I'm not sure we ever drove straight to it without having to turn around and backtrack at some point. The bedroom/bathroom combination was perfect for us - 4 couples. The upstairs living room is limited on seating for the group but there's not really much additional space to add more seating. We might book here again but will likely look around for something easier to access. Thanks.

We rented the Emotional Rescue cabin. The cabin was one of the highest in the mountains. The cabin was beautiful and the view of the mountains was spectacular. We loved the kitchen and dining area. We enjoyed eating our meals at the large country table. The only drawback was there were only 10 chairs. There were 12 of us, so two of us had two stand up or eat on the couch. We couldn't have asked for a better location and view of the mountains. The whole family enjoyed the pool table. The cabin was very clean and well-kept up. The swimming pool was small. It would have been more enjoyable if it had been larger. Overall, the cabin, location, view and everything was great. This was one of the best family vacations we have ever taken. I would definitely return to Jackson Mountain Homes cabins again. Read more

After checking in and finally getting into the cabin, I found the cabin to be adequate. I have stayed at the Black Bears Resort before and like the proximity to downtown Gatlinburg. The only negative about our stay was the hot tub. On the description for Emotional Rescue it states, "relax the tensions away in the large hot tub." Considering the chalet sleeps 12, one would think a 'large' hot tub would seat more than 4 adults comfortably. We only had 7 people on our trip, however getting more than 4 into the hot tub was next to impossible.
Other than that, everything was great.

JMH went above and beyond in making sure we enjoyed our stay at Emotional Rescue, including accommodating a late night relocation to Emotional Rescue from another cabin. Great cabin and view, though a little tricky to find initially, especially at night.
I liked the location of Black Bear Falls. It is a rental neighborhood, meaning no full-time residents that let their dogs bark around the clock like in some other areas around Gatlinburg (be warned if looking at Country Lodge!).
Pluses: Nice size, clean surroundings, close to town, dual decks, hot tub, pool table, two plasma TVs w/ surround sound, decent size kitchen, spacious bedrooms, comfortable furniture, quiet area. Very clean, takes dogs of all sizes. Top notch views of surrounding area (it is one of the highest elevation cabins in Black Bear Falls).
Downsides? Downstairs bathrooms have very small showers, a warning if you are claustrophobic. Shared driveway with not much parking (though that is the case in most of Black Bear Falls, Emotional Rescue's parking/driveway situation is actually good relative to many other cabins in the area). Also, if you require internet access, be sure to inquire about if the modem/router have been relocated, as the WiFi proved to be unreliable during my stay and the electronics were locked in the owner's closet so they could not be reset.

Each family had their own bedroom with a great view, king size bed, and bathroom. I've stayed at other getaways in this area before, but the Emotional Rescue has the greatest mountian view of any of them. It's very quiet, yet close enough to shopping and dining. We loved this home. The view was breathtaking - even with the rain we had. Beautiful view of Mt. LeConte. The neighborhood was quiet even though it was a holiday weekend and there were people staying all around us. The home had a rustic feel and was perfect for 2 families with 2 children each. All bedrooms had their own private bathrooms - which was wonderful. The kids stayed downstairs with the game room and hot tub and the parents stayed upstairs. 2 large screen tvs - one up and one down, plus the bedrooms had tvs too! We also enjoyed the whole house audio system...especially while in the hot tub. The location was perfect for us. Near the Smoky Mountains, horseback riding and a grocery store. The only downfall was the small, uncovered grill. It would have been nice to have a covered grill since it rained 2 nights we stayed. Overall a great, relaxing weekend at Emotional Rescue. First of all, I had no issues with the service from Jackson Mountain; they were very pleasant and helpful to deal with. The chalet itself was nice, but I will have to say I was not impressed with the Black Bear commmunity. Over the years I have stayed at many chalets in the Smokies; so I do have a basis for comparison. The chalets in this area are really packed in there and obviously as close togethere as they can build them. I had an issue with garbage pick-up. I'm not sure if this is a Jackson Mountain issue or with the Black Bear community. Garbage could only be picked up once during my stay, and we had to call. The garbage cans were not large, and we had 6 adults and 3 children. We stayed for a week, and this was not adequate. The home itself was very nice. The view was wonderful, and we love the nice tv's. I also enjoyed the swing on the porch, but I had to cover it because it really had a lot of splinters - needs to be painted or stained. I will definitely rent from Jackson again. You have a lot of pet friendly chalets, and I love that I can have my dogs with me. Read more
Thank you for your feedback. Black Bear Falls is one of many resort communities in Sevier County. Proximity to neighborhing cabins vary among these communities and we are sorry you felt crowded in this community. Garbarge is typically picked up by housekeeping upon departure, however, as you noted if we received a call we will arrange a midstay pick up and we provide dumpsters behind our office for guests to use as needed.
