      Best week of my life.

Left on 04/20/2013 for a stay in April 2013

I've never had an experience like this past week. Fifteen of us. All my children and grandchildren, all together in a place that far exceeded what we expected from the brochure. The first night and next day we had planned to go into the commercial part of town. Before we even had the bags out of the car all of us agreed together that we would spend as much time as possible together in this magical place. We only went into town once the entire week we were there. I spent three solid, no exaggeration, looking out the master bedroom window watching the rain clouds move around the mountain. Then my boy's wanted me to play a card game with them. Moving from the ineffable to the intimate was over powering and I will forget it as long as I live.
Putting a price on the week our family was there is impossible. We brought our Love for each other there and you provided the best place I can imagine to allow that to express itself.
Thank You so much. We hope to use the same cabin again in the future and we will gladly song the praises of your service to all our friends and acquaintances.

Left on 02/12/2013 for a stay in January 2013

The cabin was spectacular...not only was it beautiful but very clean!
My number one requirement is cleanliness and this cabin was clean.
It had plenty of room for our family of 12 to spread out and have a great time. So we booked again for next year:)

      Great Choice, beautiful cabin!

Left on 02/03/2013 for a stay in January 2013

We stayed the first week of January so it was cold and the view was amazing. The service by Jackson Mountain Homes was really good right from the start. The cabin was just like the pictures, clean, neat, and enough room for our group of 16. The water was hot for a long time, the kids had a place to play in, and we had enough space for everyone not to be crowed. The hot tub outside was relaxing. Although it was scary going up the mountain to the cabin, the location was good, and I recommend this cabin for any large group. Fyi the room upstairs is private, has the best view with a the best bathroom. We didn't want to leave, we loved the cabin.

      Lovely view, excellent accommodations.

Left on 09/20/2012 for a stay in September 2012

My large group rents from Jackson Mountain Homes annually over Labor Day and we are always pleased with the service and the cabins are always as advertised; view, amenities, etc. This year was extra special due to this lovely cabin which was not only spacious but very well-appointed with extra appliances, cookware, and dishes. Also the keyless entry eliminated the need to coordinate our comings and goings, very convenient.

There were two minor issues; not enough towels and the water pressure in the top floor fancy shower with all the jets and heads, so the folks who had that room were disappointed. The sofas in the main living room were so comfortable as were the beds, they were as good or better than home.

One thing I have found and a major reason that we keep coming back to JMH to reserve cabins is that the properties are immaculately clean. Even the grill was totally clean! Now that is service. Looking forward to next year.

Words cannot describe the wonderful time we had at Kodiak Mtn. Lodge. The check-in was easy and we received excellent service when we had a question. The home is very well maintained and very comfortable. It was almost like a second home. The views from the home were awesome! We enjoyed all of the many features of the home. Especially the hot tub. We liked the views the best . Some would have liked it to be closer to Gatlinburg. However, the views and comfort of the lodge outweighed any negative.

      Perfection

Left on 08/16/2012 for a stay in August 2012

My mom is critically ill and wanted to spend some of her last good days with family in a cabin. This one looked great on the website, but even better in person. Spotless and spacious. They thought of everything...there was not one appliance we needed that wasn't in the kitchen. We put mom & dad upstairs (that oddly shaped window frames the most gorgeous view you can imagine)and even with lots of kids in the house, they were able to rest in peace. Most of the other bedrooms are on the lowest level...too many stairs for mom (almost too many for me)! Also, the staff were perfect. We worked with Tammy, who was so caring about our having a perfect weekend to make memories with mom. Family came from all around to spend time and always had a place to sit comfortably. We hope to return again.

We had 19 1/2 people stay at the Kodiak for a week! It was awesome!!! Jackson Mountain Homes are clean, well equiped, and the beds are comfortable! No one wanted to leave the cabin when it was time to go!!! We differently want to come back sometime!!! Only down fall of this cabin is all the steps (elevator would be good) you have to climb!!
Love this cabin and would recommend it!

My family and I had a wonderful time staying at Kodiak Mountain Lodge in June. The house is spacious and clean and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The views from the deck are breathtaking. We enjoyed the home theater and did family movie nights after days of sightseeing and hiking in the mountains. It is a little far from Gatlinburg and the activities there, but it doesn't feel remote.
This is the second home we have rented from Jackson Mountain Homes and we have been more than satisfied with the quality and cleanliness of the properties.

No ceiling fans in any of the rooms. One BR on lower level did not have the fancy shower heads that were advertised. No drawers to put clothes in some cared, some didn't. Floors on big kitchen and main floor where pool table was were pretty dirty. Movie room, DVD didn't work for a while. Part of the problem was someone who previously stayed there removed cables from behind the equipment nice going!! Too many steps for older people!! It was very pretty inside and had alot of nice things for big families. It is too bad that things had to be bolted down so people don't steal, for the price you pay to stay there

      Perfect

Left on 01/12/2012 for a stay in December 2011

Our family rented the Kodiak Lodge to spend this last Christmas. It was absolutely perfect! There were 11 of us and we could have easily fit a few more in. The kitchen is very well thought out and has two of everything (two dishwashers, two microwaves, two stoves, etc...) to accommodate the amount of people that fit in the home.
We have an issue with cleanliness and the house (particularly the kitchen and bathrooms) was in perfect condition. Unfortunately it didn't snow but there were plenty of things to do in the house (games, movie theatre, hot tub, pool table, etc...).
The only downside is that it is pricey but it was definitely worth it...I would absolutely recommend this home and would love to return someday!

The desk staff is friendly and helpful from booking through checkout. The home was beautiful, spacious and clean. Location was remote enough to feel "away" but close enough to enjoy hikes (Greenbrier) and downtown Gatlinburg within 15 mins. Enjoyed the theater and video game the best. Second time we have used this property in 6 years.

Walking into the front door was pretty breathtaking. Everything we needed, outside of groceries, was right at the cabin. Most of our family members found it hard to leave. We had an issue with trying to hook up our laptop to the entertainment room and someone was out to help us within 30 minutes. He stayed for a long time and he was pretty enjoyable to have around. Overall it was pretty awesome even wiht the overcast skies for each day. The sun finally broke through on our last day and it beautiful.

We plan to head back next year.

Even though I rated some things less than 5 stars, we loved our stay at the Kodiak and had a really great trip. We were slightly upset with the 1st check in person at Jackson Mountain homes but the 2nd girl more than made up for it all. The Cabin was absolutely fantastic including the view, the cleanlines, and the layout. Not one complaint at all about the cabin itself. However, I wish when booking or reviewing online we could have determined the distance and time of the Cabin to/from Gatlinburg and Pidgeon Forge. We thought we were staying much closer to the activities than we ended up. We worked through it but it was an 1 1/2 hour or so commitment to do anything, even run and get something from the store you forgot. Anyway, we will be there again but we will be much better preparred to ask questions about the location of the cabin next time.

      Spectacular!!

Left on 12/18/2010 for a stay in November 2010

Kodiak Mountain Lodge is, by far, the best cabin we have rented in the six years we have been coming to Gatlinburg. From the large parking area to the amazing view, the attention to detail was excellent. Jackson Mountain Homes always delivers comfort, cleanliness and a welcome atmosphere. The thought that went into the layout of the cabin did not go unnoticed. The master suite is on the upper level which affords comfort and privacy. The on-suite bathroom is tremendous. The shower room is a treat, along with the large jetted tub. Well thought out. The main level has adequate living space for a large group. A wonderful kitchen with 2 range/oven/microwave/dishwashers was so helpful with our group of 12 adults. We have a cooking competition throughout the week and the kitchen was great for that. We loved the round table that was able to seat all of us. So many good conversations and games took place there. The lower level with its' gaming areas, pool table, extra fridge and theater was amazing. We had our annual awards ceremony in the theater and it was a blast. The lowest level had more bedrooms which offered our little one a quiet getaway for a quick nap and we didn't have to tip-toe so as not to wake him. We love the Cobbly Nob area so it was perfect for us in every way. The lodge was tastefully decorated---simply beautiful! The only drawback is the price. We go to Gatlinburg every year Thanksgiving week so it's at the highest price point and we've come to expect that but this cabin was truly a stretch. If price is no object, choose Kodiak Mountain Lodge. You won't be disappointed.

My husband and I -- along with our children and grandchildren -- celebrated our 35th wedding anniversary with a vacation to Gatlinburg. We stayed at the Kodiak Mtn Lodge and thoroughly enjoyed this beautiful and well-appointed home. The view is spectacular and the game room, theater, and kitchen are all wonderful. The house is large enough to easily accomodate a family of 10+. The JMH folks were always courteous and I would highly recommend them to any first time visitors. The only (slight) drawback is the drive up to this mountain-top home. It is nearly two miles of narrow, twisty, uphill road and I would hesitate to make the drive after dark.

We stayed at Kodiak Mountain Lodge with four families, and children ranging in age from 4 to 13 years old. There were 14 of us. The home was all we expected and more. The little ones loved the cubby on the bedroom floor. The gameroom was a hit with all, expecially the electronic game that required no quarters. It was enjoyed by everyone from 6 to 70. The kitchen was a dream and so well equipped with appliances, utinsels and dishes. We found and used all three Cobbly Nob pools. The view is breathtaking. There is so much to do in the area, but it was always a great pleasure to come back to the home. We all agreed it was the best vacation ever.

Great place. View is spectacular. Mountain roads are a bit intimidating, but really didn't have any problems with them. Great game room and pool table. Very nice kitchen. Two-tiered pool is really neat but not ideal for young kids. Other pool off Sunshine Trail is better for them. 3rd pool near golf community is definitely nothing to write home about.Grocery Store is 8-9 miles west, so not 30 min like others have indicated. Takes about 5 min to get down mountain and maybe 15 min after that. There's never any traffic on that stretch. All in all, just a great place!

      Great Cabin

Left on 05/31/2010 for a stay in May 2010

We had a family get-together - Adults only. We had a fantastic time. The cabin was all we anticipated and more. There was plenty of room for all nine of us to have our own space. Media room was great and loved having the pool table. We loved the kitchen – two stoves, two dishwashers and two microwaves – we cooked in for breakfast and dinner and there was plenty of work space. The location was great – away from the maddening crowd. A beautiful view of the Smokey Mountains. We did not want to leave.

Would be a great place for a family with kids, also – Nine TVs so there would be no fighting over which show to watch.

I would definitely recommend this cabin if you don’t want to be in the center of the all activities - Fantastic relaxation place.

But if you wanted to go to town it took only took about 15- 20 minutes to get into Gatlinburg. It had a very nice golf course at the foot of the hill (1.3 miles down the hill). The grocery store was about 15 minutes away.

What more can I say – FANTASTIC – A VACATION TO REMEMBER.

Our group of 3 families - 13 people total - loved Kodiak Mountain Lodge! The staff at Jackson Mountain Homes helped me choose this particular house - they were very professional and did a great job suggesting a house to meet our needs. Our group included 6 teenagers and the house had plenty of things to do to keep them happy. We adults appreciated the large kitchen, outside decks and seating areas for all. And of course, the mountain view was beautiful! The only drawback we found was having the 3 bedrooms on the bottom floor under the game room & movie theater - pretty noisy even with normal foot traffic. If we return to the area, we would definitely choose this house again!

Awesome Cabin with Spectacular Mountain View it is PERFECT!

Left on 03/10/2010 for a stay in March 2010

This cabin has everything a large family needs to enjoy a mountain vacation. Bedrooms with private baths are a BIG plus for this cabin. The mountain view out the back of the cabin is spectacular. This is a beautiful cabin with all the amenities you could ask for. The only drawback for some may be that it takes a good 30 minutes to get down the mountain and in to Gatlinburg. For our group we saw that as a plus. It was close enough to go in to town, but far enough to feel like we were the only ones on the mountain. I HIGHLY recommend this cabin to anyone. We will be staying at the Kodiak Mountain Lodge again real soon!

We visited the Kodiak Cabin February 2010. The home was beautiful! The pictures don't do it any justice! We had minor problems with the cable box and the but the rental office were right on top of things. They truly went above and beyond to make our stay wonderful. We had five couples of which everyone loved their room. We had the master suite with the fireplace and jacuzzi tub, it was truly awesome! Will definitely go again next year.

Great Time in A great place. Pictures dont do Justice for the View we had and dont give credit to how nice of a cabin it was. I/We were very please from the begging. Talking with the reservation staff and 1st stepping in to the cabin. Overall great experience. Just as it was last time I stayed there thru Jackson Mountain back in '97. That is why I chose to go through them again.

      Thank you

What a GREAT Place for a Large Family

Left on 01/06/2010 for a stay in January 2010

We love everything about the Kodiak Mountian Lodge.
Way up high on the Mountain and overlooking a breathtaking view from every window we spent the end of 2009 and began the New Year of 2010 with our entire family. Ample room for all of us. The beds were so wonderful all w/ warm blankets and all were Kings except the one room w/ 2 Queens. Each room is so cozy and offers something different. You will have plenty of room for privacy as well. You will not Believe the showers!! All of our children loved the Movie Theater, they had movie marathons and played viedo games in there everyday. The guys had Pool Tournaments in the gameroom and enjoyed the Hot Tub each day and again at night. I of course love to cook and I did enjoy the kitchen there were 2 of everything and we had wonderful dinners each night and all of us set around the dining table together at night and at the kitchen dining bar and corner table for breakfast each morning. Huge family Room has a full rock fireplace w/ gas logs (so does the very private upper bedroom that my husband and I grabbed..this shower will blow your mind) The Family room also has a huge sectional sofa that 10 people can sit together on, this was our spot for the New Years Eve ball drop watch. Just a perfect time all the way around. We even had SNOW!! I could go on and on about this place. The Views, Comfort, Privacy, THE SHOWERS....
Gatlenburg is only a quick 15 min. drive down, and the grocery store is only 10 min. drive down
You can not go wrong by booking this piece of heaven. We really LOVED IT!!
**We had 20 people on our stay and we had plenty of room.( we only took 1 blow up bed )**

we really enjoyed this home. my husband & i hosted our four children & their families here. two of our children had been to tn before. it was the first time for the rest of us. so it was the first time for a cabin and to us the only way to go. the scenery at this cabin is wonderful. the men loved the theater room. the children had the most fun. we only had a couple of minor incidents that we needed to call the office, but they were taken care of very timely. very nice people. hated to leave. my husband and i are already planning another trip there for us to see a lot of things we didn't have time for. i am sure jackson mountain homes will be our choice again (just a smaller cabin). if we were to bring our whole family again we would not hesitate to come back to kodiak mountain lodge............THANK YOU SO MUCH....this was the beginning to a great week......

      Not much missing here!!

Left on 12/02/2009 for a stay in November 2009

For several years we have been coming to Gatlinburg in October-November for our yearly family get-together. Each year we have rented a different cabin for the 9 of us. This is the best one we have found for our group and we have already reserved it for next year.

It is a bit further out from Gatlinburg, however the drive was much easier than trying to wander around Wiley Oakley to find a house.

In the well planned kitchen there are two stoves-ovens and two dishwashers. Great idea! For once, all of us could sit at the same dinner table. The lazy-susan at the table did create some enjoyable memories as the food one wanted circled on by and ended up at a different spot.

The theater was used regularly by the young ones for movies. The pool table was better than the one at home! Everyone enjoyed the air hockey. The extra fridge in the entertainment room was helpful. One of the daughters wanted a sauna room and since some of us are XXL and XXXL the jacuzzi could have been larger(I think we started a new mountain stream when three of us got in at once).

View was fantastic, we can only imagine what it was like in October at the peak of the fall colors.

The master bedroom was a little difficult for the wife's bad knees. It was surprisingly quieter than imagined by being upstairs and next to the living room's vaulted ceiling. The two kids slept on the entertainment level and did not seem to be bothered by the rowdy adults at night. From the bedroom level on the bottom floor it was quite the hike to the kitchen.

Had minor problems with two batteries going dead, but the staff was quick to replace them at our convenience.

Again, returning to the same cabin next year.

PROS: View, kitchen, dining, pool table quality, air hockey quality, theater, quiet sleeping areas, staff from Jackson Mountain Homes.

CONS: Small hot tub for sleeping accommodations, a lot of climbing stairs(get in shape).

      Truly incredibel views!

Left on 10/01/2009 for a stay in September 2009

I have stayed at a number of large cabins in the Gatlinburg area, but, the view from this cabin topped them all!

Our group of ten voted this cabin overall the best yet (comparing to some really great cabins such as "Grizzlies Den" and "dreaming bears") for these reasons:

      1. View - Wow!
      2. Easy parking for 5 cars
      3. Kitchen - 2 stoves, 2 dishwashers plus a second refrig for beverages.
      4. Comfy beds
      5. Round table seated entire party of 10
      6. Soothing sound of the creek at the bottom of the moutain
      7. Movie theater with great sound system
      8. Location - easy access from I-40 vis 321 avoiding congested areas of Pigeon Forge and Sevierville
      9. Peace and quiet
10.Jackson Mountain Homes staff - Perfect from reservations to check in to housekeeping. 5 stars!

      A Great Cabin

Left on 09/23/2009 for a stay in September 2009

Kodiak Mountain Lodge is exactly how it appears in the pictures. The view is amazing and the area isn't as developed as other parts of the Gatlinburg area so even though you can see some other homes from the deck, you don't see anywhere near as many as in other places.

The interior is gorgeous and very tastefully decorated as well. Three of the bedrooms have very nice, custom tiled showers and four of them have king beds. The kitchen is very large and with the dining table that seats 10, provides a perfect place to gather with friends.

The only issues that kept me from giving this property the full 5 stars were these. The master bath had some leaking problems, but the owner was going to have it fixed after our stay and Jackson Mountain refunded a portion of our money.

The only other thing that we didn't really care for was the grill. It's a custom grill, which in theory is really cool, but it's location and size make it a little impractical. It rained on the night we wanted to grill and rain came right off the roof and onto the grillmaster. The grill is also very narrow (maybe 12 inches from front to back), long (maybe 5 or 6 feet long) and not very deep (maybe 4 inches deep) so it can be a challenge to stack the coals and arrange the food on the grill.

Overall, though, these minor issues did not detract from our stay. We've gone to Gatlinburg for 5 years in a row now and this is one of the nicer places we've stayed in.

Thank you for your comments about Kodiak Mounatin Lodge. It's a great cabin! We are sorry you had problems with the master bathroom - the cabin owner has been working on the repair this to hopefully get it taken care of. We will be sure to pass along your comments regarding the grill. With our rainy summer, it has been a challenge on the grill and your suggestions are very valid! Thank you again and we hope to see you in the future!

The home was beautiful and spacious enough to handle 15 of us. Our entire family, ages 5 thru 69 enjoyed it immensely. Three features that were big hits were numerous flat screen TV's, the movie theatre and hot-tup. My son, the cook, had numerous accolades for the kitchen. The view of the mountains was just great. I was disappointed with the pool. We were told there were three pools that we could use but we only found one. We called the office and they could only direct us to one.

      1. Jackson Mountain Homes reservation people are always first class. Pleasure to deal with them. Like your terms and conditions.

      2. House was very nice to stay in. Unfortunate but understand a) shower in master bathroom was not operating during entire stay (1/2 day refund provided and appreciated); AC unit on main floor not working on check-in day (fixed within 3 hours of call-in); unable to operate home theatre (fixed within 3 hours of call-in) - great customer service on call-ins.

      3. Amenities were very nice (appreciate the two dishwashers, two stoves, two coffe makers, etc - nice considerations for large family groups.

      4. Appreciate the pet friendly status. We travel everywhere with our pet.

      5. Will highly recommend this unit and jackson mountain homes.

We just spent a wonderful weekend at the Kodiak mountain lodge and had a wonderful time. The cabin had a amazing view of Mountains. All the rooms were decorated very nicely. The cabin was fully loaded. You name a thing and it was present in this cabin. We were a party of 15 and the cabin had more than enough space for every one. I will definitely recommend this cabin.

I can not end this review with out a word for Jackson Mountain Homes Staff. They were simply great, Very friendly and courteous. On the way to cabin I got lost twice and they were always there to help me out with right directions and landmark. Thank you Jackson Homes for making this weekend break so memorable.

      Amazing Chalet

Wow is the word I would use to describe Kodiak Mountain Lodge. Everything
about the chalet is top notch! From the BIG screen TVS to the indoor MOVIE room
to the incredible kitchen. The furniture is really nice and comfy, as well as the
bedrooms. The SHOWER in the main bedroom is worth fighting over! Amazing!
The view is awesome. Probably, one of the best around! Location is great. Around
20 minutes from downtown Gatlinburg. The main thing is that this chalet is as described on the web! Amazing! We will be back soon! God Bless! David Bryant
