The cabin had plenty of room, fully equipped and clean - Perfect
The location of the cabin was just right because you could get to Pigeon Forge in minutes and into Gatlinburg too - we seemed 1/2 way between both -- Perfect
The mountain view from the cabin was - Perfect
The cabin was not located on a windy up hill road for miles - easy trip to and from cabin to main road in Gatlinburg - Perfect
Just wish there had been a ramp leading to the wrap around porch -unloading car was tough with the steps
Definitely we will be back

The cabin was perfect for us! Very clean and all furniture and fixtures were modern and comfortable. We had more 'start up' supplies than I expected which was a bonus.
Within 30 minutes of our arrival, there was a bear in our side yard eating berries from a bush! It was exciting and scary! :-)
We did walk to town several times but it is a challenging walk. The cabin is located at traffic light 2 then up a fairly steep hill. It's not a bad hill to drive up, just steep to walk. But if in decent shape, it's definitely doable. We loved it.
The only problem we had was the projector in the theater quit working and the first man they sent arrived quickly but was unable to fix it so we missed out on Saturday night movies. It did get fixed the next day. Every one we dealt with at Jackson Mountain was super nice and took good care of us.
Thanks! We will be back.

This cabin was everything we expected with the exception of the view. The pictures of this cabin are a bit deceptive. However the home was large, accommodating, clean, close to town and otherwise everything we had hoped to find. We had problems with both the entry system on arrival and the theater system the second day. Both issues were handled quickly and efficiently. We had two families with 6 college kids between us stay comfortably. We would consider staying here again if we return with a large group.

This was my families first time in Gatlinburg and our stay was awesome. The staff checked us in in a manner of minutes. The cabin was gorgeous and spacious for my large group of 12!! The kitchen was fully stocked and we cooked several nights to save on dinner. It was only a couple of minutes from downtown Gatlinburg and about 15 min from Pigeon Forge. I will most definitely stay again..

We rented laurel lodge based on previous reviews. So happy I did my homework before booking any other place. Laurel lodge was very clean (this is coming from a clean freak that I pack my own sheets, towels & slippers) We were a total of 3 families ( husbands, wives & lots of kids). We had a blast cooking out, playing on the flat land outside & just sittin' on the porch swing. The location is ideal. Close to shopping & restaurants. We cooked while we stayed & there was plenty of space for all 3 families to settle in comfortably. We are looking forward to renting it again!!!

The cabin was beautiful, our only problem was trying to all eat together, the dining table does not accommodate the number of guests! We really enjoyed the wrap around porch and hot tub. Check in and check out was great and when we had a little trouble with the locks, we were helped right away. Walking distance to downtown? As one southern cousin commented, " well everything is within walking distance, it just depends on how far you want to walk!" We had a great time, plenty to keep us occupied and plenty of time and space to just be together.
Always enjoy the stay at Laurel Lodge.

My friends and family enjoyed the stay at Laurel Lodge. They love the Lodge and the location. It is centrally located for all the things they want to do. First day we were there we finally saw a momma bear and three cubs. We really enjoyed that. We have been there many times and this was a first for us. They were not afraid of us and we took pictures of them. They were below the deck. Thanks, Kerry and Rachel, for the beautiful cabin. Any one who stays there will enjoy it.

Our family of 6 adults and 2 small children spent a week in Laurel Lodge. Excellent location! Close enough to walk to downtown Gatlinburg, even with the hill, a manageable walk. Private. Floorplan of the house was excellent, but lack of interior insulation made it a bit noisy, especially if a movie was going in the theater room or a game of pool in the loft. Not handicap accessible. Jackson Mountain Homes was an excellent rental company to work with, great communication and easy check-in/check-out.

I was beyond pleased with this cabin! My husband and I,along with 4 other couples retreated at Laurel Lodge for a Marriage Retreat and could not have been more pleased. The cabin with very clean, and had all the items needed to accommidate all 10 adults. The bed linens were clean, the bathroonms clean, the kitchen had everything we needed to prepare meals. The men really enjoyed the pool table, and the hot tub and theater was an additional treat. The cabin is located in the perfect location, just a short walk to the strip. We had a few issues with the fridge cooling, but after the first day it adjusted. We will definately be back, and I highly reccommend Laurel Lodge for your Gatlinburg accommidations...you wont be dissappointed.

Our stay at Laurel Lodge was perfect. Jackson Mountain Homes made it very easy to check in and out of the cabin. The cabin was beautiful and surrounded by Dogwood trees in full bloom. We loved the wrap around porch and made good use of it from early morning to late at night. We went hiking everyday, so we liked the location being only minutes away from the park. The kitchen was equipped with eveything we needed for a group of nine. We had plenty of bath towels, trash bags, dish soap, etc. I would have to say that my favorite things about the cabin were the location, the beauty of it, and that great porch!

I called the rental office before the trip to ask if the house was in walking distance to downtown Gatlinburg. The women in the office told me it was not. Actuality, it is about a 5 minute walk. (a little steep downhill all the way there, and up hill walking back).
Everyday we walked to the shops, and even as far as Ober Gatlinburg.

We stayed Lurel Lodge and will definitely stay there again. From the location of the cabin,to the hot tub, to the theatre room, everything was perfect. The only thing I would like to see changed was the check out time. 10am is a very early check out, earlier than any other rental we have stayed in. The cleaning crew was at our front door at exactly 10 am, rushing us out the door, making our last day of vacation very stressful and frustrating. This needs to be changed to 11 or even 12, as we've experienced in other vacation rentals. Read more
Thank you for taking the time complete a review regarding your recent stay at Laurel Lodge. We are happy to hear that you had a great weekend getaway! We apologize that you felt rushed. Unfortunately, we do have a 10am check-out time, as do many rental companies in the area, to allow enough time for the cabins to be thoroughly cleaned and inspected prior to our 3pm check-in time. As you can imagine, it does take several hours to clean a large cabin such as this. The next time you visit, please feel free to call our office and if we are able to accommodate a bit later check-out, we are happy to do so. Please keep in mind though, that this isn't always possible. We appreciate your understanding and look forward to seeing you again soon!

The cabin was beautiful, better than what I expected. I know when I booked it, it wasn't going to be in it's own secluded area which was fine because it was quiet and no one bothered us. On the way back from Ober Gatlinburg our friends saw a bear as he was pulling into the driveway. They were freaked out but amazed at the same time. The cabin was well decorated and clean. The only crazy thing was the street that the cabin is on, it can only fit one way traffic. So you had to make sure that there were no cars coming from the opposite direction, but we didn't have a problem with any cars coming from the opposite direction. Overall, we had an awesome time and would highly recommend booking the Laurel Lodge.

We were a party of 12, including 6 children under 8 yrs. Everyone raved about the cabin. It was beautiful and very comfortable. The location was perfect for going to the national park or into town. We received excellent service upon arrival when we found 3 (sadly) dead and decaying baby birds on the porch. A maintenance person came out as soon as I called and did a very thorough clean-up, including scrubbing and disinfecting the area. Some areas of the house could have been a little cleaner, e.g., we arrived to find hair on a bathroom floor. Also, after dinner the first night I was on my hands and knees cleaning up under the counter stools where the children had been eating and found cracker crumbs and other remains that were not from us.

The cabin was beautiful...well decorated and modern. I loved the owner's personal touches.
Our only problem was that we couldn't get the showers to work. We inquired at the management office, and were told someone would get back with us. No one ever did. We took baths :-(
I felt like the management company was satisfied that their duties were fulfilled once they collected the steep rental fee for this cabin. It might have been worth it if the service had been there. We had issues with the shower, and they apparently didn't care!!! Read more

This cabin is in a marvelous location, easy to get to and very close to Gatlinburg. The cabin is very clean and very nicely appointed. The area is quiet and no one bothered us at all. The kitchen is very well equipped. I liked the fact that the cabin is alarmed and monitored. My least favorite feature was the grill. I love cooking with charcoal, but this grill is too small and the front is too low, too much heat escapes and while you are cooking, the heat spilling out the front is uncomfortable. One big, big positive – even with four showers in use at once and washing dishes in the kitchen, we never ran out of hot water! Overall, I would stay again and recommend this cabin to anyone.

Another Family Christmas in the Smokies

For several years, our extended families have met in the Smokies to celebrate Christmas. Once again in 2009 we did this. This is the second year that we stayed in this particular cabin, and everyone was perfectly pleased with the accommodations. The cabin is located very close to downtown Gatlinburg, yet, it has a beautiful view. Although it was December and we had a good deal of snow, the road up to the cabin never gave us any problem. While staying at this cabin in 2008, we saw black bears and turkeys, and this year, 2009, we saw two dear. All of which were just off the front porch! I believe this location is the perfect balance between seclusion and being close to the action! The staff at Jackson Mountain Homes was very accommodating and friendly, taking care of all our needs very promptly. The only problem we had was that my mother, who has limited mobility, did have difficulty with all of the steps.

- From the ordering process to our (minor) needs during our stay, Jackson Mtn Homes' staff was a pleasure to deal with.
- Laurel Lodge was easy to find, comfortable for every member of the 3 generations of our family and decorated just beautifully. Laurel Lodge offered us main floor area to be together comfortably and bedrooms that were roomy, quiet and comfortable.
- We could easily walk to town from Laurel Lodge & enjoy Gatlinburg on foot. Merchants and restaurants in the area had great helpful staff. In terms of driving, Gatlinburg & routes to the mountains in October are simply too crowded with bumper to bumper traffic, especially (but not exclusively) on the weekend.
- Early in our stay, the weather was rainy, chilly and dreary but being in Laurel Lodge was a plus because we could all be together comfortably with lots to do there for every age group. While being stuck indoors could have been a low point, instead we had a great time.

My family and I stayed at Laurel Lodge for a long weekend in August. We were there to catch up and spend some time with my husband who was home visiting from Iraq.
The cabin was absolutely amazing! We didn't want to leave! Our first night there, we saw a bear in the yard. The place was immaculately clean, as well, and the hot tub and movie room were great bonuses! Also, we loved how close it is to downtown Gatlinburg. That was very convenient. Luckily, though, it's secluded enough that you don't realize how close you are to the town.
The only suggestions I have are to provide more bath towels...and larger ones! We had one towel per person and wound up having to do laundry several times. That's not too much of a problem, except that the dryer didn't work very well, so we often had to dry off with damp towels.
Really, though, I have no complaints. The place was amazing and we had a most wonderful time! Read more
Thank you for your great comments. We will have someone check the dryer out for proper operation. Sorry that was a problem during your stay. We look forward to your future visits to Laurel Lodge! :)

Jackson Mtn. Homes staff is top notch and extremely friendly.
Laurel Lodge is a terrific place to stay. We could not have asked for better amenities. The teenagers especially loved the home theater room (adults too, but especially the teens). Initially we were disappinted that the cabine was not in a more remote location, however, we ended up appreciating the fact we could park at the motel at the bottom of the hill WALK to town. That was particularly nice since the trolley was sometimes too full to ride due to the 4th of July crowds.
I can not think of anything negative to say. It was perfect for our extended family that is located in three states and can not get together at the same time, in the same place very often.
I would recommend Laurel Lodge and especially Jackson Mountain homes to anybody.
