Southwest, VA.Clean, quiet & cozy...
Left on 04/23/2013 for a stay in April 2013
My husband, two daughters, & I, recently stayed in Gatlinburg for our family vacation. We live about 3 1/2 hours away from Gatlinburg, and visit there yearly. We usually rent a cabin when we go there. This cabin was clean, comfortable, and was in a quiet neighborhood. We really enjoyed ourselves & felt relaxed during our stay. Our only complaints were that the cabin had no internet, and needed to be stocked a little better. We felt we could've used a little more toilet paper, towels, soap, & garbage bags. Other than those things, we were very pleased. Would stay here again.

A slice of heaven was so awesome! It was just what we were looking for in a cabin. It was low elevation for my mom, convenient (close to everything)and the cabin was comfy and cozy. I loved that this cabin was pet friendly and the fact that it didn't have that pet smell. The only flaw was the few stains on the couch that we covered up with a blanket and our last two days there, the fire place wouldn't come on, but other than that it was awesome.

Left on 01/17/2013 for a stay in October 2012
This chalet is in a convenient location to downtown Gatlinburg. The rooms were very clean. We rented this chalet because it was pet friendly. The screened porch on the side was very nice. The only thing that I would consider a negative is that there was no washer and dryer, therefore we couldn't wash our towels and wash cloths.

It would have been great except it smelled like dirty dog. Could not get rid of odor. Our clothes even smelled that way when we went out. Next time I will know what pet friendly means. Cabin was great and beautiful, just the smell.

Loved this cabin,we rented this cabin back in 2005 after my husband returned from Iraq.It was available in July of this year, so we rented it again, it was a special place to us.It has plenty of room for our 2 sons, and everyone had their own space to go and relax, after a day of, shopping or sight seeing .We used the kitchen and grill on the porch, loved the hot tub. We wished it had the internet.I would recommend this cabin to anyone who wanted to get away for a few days and just relax and enjoy the beautiful mountain scenery. The staff was friendly very helpful, they called us to check on us to see if we needed anything,we will definitely try to go back again.

We always stay at Jackson Mt properties and this time wanted to try a cabin closer to town. This cabin was surrounded by trees but also had a nice flat yard to walk our little dog. We did enjoy the hot tub in the screened in porch. Probably the only thing missing was a washer/dryer but all and all it was nice to be so close to town.

Left on 07/18/2012 for a stay in July 2012
A Slice of Heaven is very nice, although the upstairs bedroom was extremely hot when we arrived. We kicked the thermostat down to 68 degrees and had to run the ceiling fan continuously to cool the room down. The weather was very hot (100+ degrees)so that was a big factor. Overall, we loved the cabin which was very clean and comfortable.

The cabin was very nice and cozy. The T.V. with cable was nice. Hot tub was good but the jets were quite weak even at full force. The pricing was very affordable and the location was excellent. Only 10 min walk from down town Gatlinburg and 10 min drive from down town Pigeon Fordge. Would not hesitate to stay there again.

Everything inside the cabin was really nice and clean. The only complaint was that a recliner would have been much more comfortable by the couch rather than a regular standard stuffed chair. We came in at night and did not know we had to have a code to the office outside door to get our key. When we did call the emergency number we got the code and key. Also, the cabin was hard to find in the dark. My GPS put me about 1/2 block of the cabin and someone was in that cabin. I was lucky that I ran into a guy who was nice enough to go on foot and find the cabin for me. It was in a neighborhood of cabins and homes but was still private. I would recommend this cabin to others.

Thank you for taking the time to review your recent stay at A Slice of Heaven. We hope that you enjoyed your stay and are sorry to hear that you experienced any difficulty.
We know that sometimes it is impossible to arrive at our office during business hours, so we note in our confirmation and policies that if you are going to be arriving after hours, just give us a call and we will make arrangements for you. Also, the emergency line is able to quickly provide that information after business hours.
Because GPS is not always accurate, especially in the mountains, we provide a map from our office to the cabin, complete with turn-by-turn mileage.
We appreciate you recommending Jackson Mountain Homes and hope to see you again soon. -

We loved our stay and the admenties that the cabin offered! They even left two dog bones for our traveling dog! The pictures doesn't do it justice. It was exactly what we needed. It was one mile to downtown and we walked one day. The hill is sort of steep when coming back from a day of downtown!! It does have two cabins beside it with a shared parking that would be perfect for large group traveling together! There is a big front yard and it doesn't feel like you are crowded by neighbors. It was so peaceful!

Left on 02/26/2012 for a stay in February 2012
The cabin was very nice. We had a small dog with us and liked that the hot tub area of the deck was closed in so he could be outside with us. The location is very convienient to downtown which was nice. The only gripes were no washer/dryer, the master bed was hard as a rock, and the cabin is very close to others. You trade privacy for location. Overall, I would stay here again if I wanted quick access to downtown Gatlinburg, but I would personally prefer something a little further out. Jmh was very helpful during the entire process and we will be staying with them again.

Very nice cabin with lots of space for four people. Kitchen has everything you will need. Hot tub was a bonus on cool nights. Lots of hot water which is appreciated. Lots of room for two cars. Just be mindful not to leave any food or snacks on the deck or in your car or you may have Yogi Bear come for a visit :)

We had a great stay at this house, even with a few neighbors, it was peaceful and comfortable. It's rare to be completely at ease when your staying some place unfamiliar, here it felt like home away from home. After a long day of being tourists, coming back and making dinner then sliding into the jacuzzi or hot tub was the perfect ending. Although it was somewhat difficult to find (a road sign was missing) the directions they gave us worked better than the GPS system we had. We would definitely come back again! Also, working JMH was very easy and they were very helpful and attentive to our needs. We have already recommended JMH to other friends.

The stay was excellant. Customer service and the cabin was above what I expected for the price. Location was excellant as well - you could here the road traffic but was secluded by the trees. The only thing that I would change would be the carpet in the cabin, I am not a carpet person. Plan on staying here in the future.

Our stay would have been more enjoyable if we didn't have to fight the construction traffic every time we wanted to go somewhere. The only way to and from the cabin was right smack dab in the construction zone. The kitchen could have been a little cleaner. But over all it was a nice place.

Thank you for taking the time to review your recent stay at A Slice of Heaven. With the above average amount of rain that we, as well as much of the country, have experienced, there was a small rock slide in Gatlinburg. Unfortunately, there have been some lane changes, for a very short distance (less than a block), while they work to repair the rock slide area. We apologize for any cleaning conerns that you had. We appreciate your understanding and hope that you will choose Jackson Mountain Homes again in the future.

We had a wonderful time! The house was great but needed a few more pots and pans. We loved the fact it is right in town but very quiet. We brought our Harley and the parking area was level which was a plus. The yard was an added bonus- it gave our Grandaughter a place to play in the afternoons. I highly recommend Jackson Mountain Homes. The staff is superb to work with- we will always rent from them! Thanks so much for a Great Stay!

Came up with a couple of friends. We really enjoyed the cabin. Plenty of room for us. Close enough to town to talk a walk in. Hill tough coming back up, but we made it. Not as nice as the other cabins that we have stayed in, the kitchen was not equipped as well as the others either. But we had a good time and just relaxed for the weekend.

This is a very nice, well taken care of cabin. The location, for me, lacks a little but only because I like a little more seclusion. The kitchen could use a few more pots, pans, plates, ect... but other than that it was all wonderful and very relaxing visit. The people in the office of JMH was wonderful as usual; very helpful and knowledgeable. I would definitely stay here again.

I loved everything about it. I've gone back a 2nd time, to this same place, and will alway choose this one in the future. It's located at stoplight #2. The hill is not too high, where you could walk to and from the main street. I brought along my maltese dog, so I appreciated the level lawn in front of the cabin. Some of their cabins of right off the street, so they wouldn't be safe, whereas this one was. Enough room to play outside. One night, it stormed, and the rain on the roof top of the deck was so peaceful. It's the little things in life that make one happy, and the porch swing did it for me.

Very nice cabin located close to two other Jackson properties. The other cabins were unoccupied when we were there and the property is located on a cul de sac-y kind of thing. Very clean, nice hot tub, hard wired gas grill, comfy furniture. My only complaint is that the kitchen is minimally stocked. Just enough plates and flatware for renters and very little cook/bake ware. We really enjoy cooking so tend not to eat out much. For others this may not be an issue. No 9x9, no 9x13, no mixing bowls, no measuring cups or measuring spoons, no wine glasses, minimal pots and pans. Otherwise a really nice place that I would stay again...but I'll take cooking supplies with me!

Loved this Cabin. Location is excellant. Only 2 things I would change. 1. cabin needs a washer/dryer. There is plenty of room in the closet next to the kitchen for a wash/dry. 2. Jackson mountains office needs a lighted sign by the road. Even though I have stayed with them many times, on late arrivals it is difficult to see there exact location. And we end up having to turn around a few times to locate it. Face it- after driving several hours, the last thing you want is more driving. I would recommend this cabin for those who want to be as close to downtown as possible, but still in a quite location. I also recommend parking behind the aquarium. It's only $6.00 all day and not far from main road. And yes you can have pizza delivered there.

Jackson Mountain provided us with great service and help with chosing our cabin. We settled on a cabin without a mountain view because it was larger and more cost-effective. The cabin is beautiful, and there was plenty of room for our family. We loved the hot tub on the screened in porch. We was a bit disappointed to have neighbors so close all around but overall it was very nice. In previous stays with different cabin rentals, there was always a washer and dryer. We had a rough week without these, and ended up buying more clothes and towels during our trip. Lesson learned for our next trip, we will definately be asking about these amenities...

Reservations were easy, cabin was in great shape - better than the last time even - but it had been smoked in and everything we had smelled like smoke. There was no indication in the reservations that you could smoke in the cabin. That is the only thing that wasn't perfect. Wish we had known ahead to ask for smoke-free environment. Will stay with Rainbow cabins again because we like them very much.

Thank you for your comment – we are glad that you enjoyed your stay. A Slice of Heaven is a smoking cabin, as advertised on our website. While the housekeeping department makes every effort to rid the cabin of any smoke smell, it does sometimes linger and for people who do not smoke, it can be noticeable. We do have many wonderful non-smoking cabins that our reservationists will be happy to get you into – just let them know that you prefer non-smoking. We are looking forward to seeing you again soon!
