Chimney Top Overlook in the Black Bear Falls community in Gatlinburg was just perfect for our family Thanksgiving experience. They even arranged a couple inches of beautiful snow so that we could fully appreciate the beauty of our surroundings. Jackson Mountain Homes thought of everything but our personal items and groceries. This unit has four bedrooms, four bathrooms, two loving areas with gas fireplaces, a huge kitchen, two bacons with rocking chairs, hot tub, etc. There were some bears in the area at night but the trash containers kept them from making a mess. The driveway is a bit steep and you would want to arrive during the daylight so you can find your way up the mountain but it was a great place to relax and have fun!

This cabin was a great cabin to stay at. We had one issue but after calling the office they had a maintenance personnel at the cabin within a hour. The highlight of the trip was a bear trying to take away the bear trap trash can outside. If you like a nice mountain view in the mornings this is a great cabin. My family and I look forward to renting a cabin through Jackson Mountain in the future.
Relaxing and enjoyable get away!

We love staying in Black Bear Falls. We've stayed there multiple times over the years. This was our first time staying in Chimey Top Overlook and we loved it! The view is fantastic and the home is beautiful. Thank you Jackson Mountain Homes.

From the moment we checked in at the office to our last day, we felt that we were treated like royalty. Our family including in-laws and children enjoyed everything about the cabin- the children and their parents stayed downstairs and enjoyed their own bathrooms and table games. The kitchen had all the utensils we needed-we brought our own Keurig coffee maker (we are spoiled) but there was one setting on the counter when we arrived!! All of the family had a great time and am planning for next year. Keep up the excellent facilities.

Perfect cabin for multi-family trip. Each bedroom has its own bathroom and layout of rooms on each side of cabins add extra privacy. Kids loved using the hot tub and pool table. Open kitchen and large dining table give plenty of room for breakfast, etc. View of the mountain is great and close to town while still secluded. Drive way entry is very steep so entry/exit is a little difficult and would be very hard to manage in icy conditions. Spring break snow fall did not stick to roads so it wasn't a problem at the cabin although the national park road was closed due to additional snow accumulation at higher altitude. Jackson Mountain website had the most detailed cabin information and everything matched high expectations from reviewing multiple options. Other cabins are close by but do not hinder view.

Chimney Top Overlook was a great place to stay. We had three families stay 6 adults and 5 children. Plenty of room and very comfortable. The kiddos had ample room to run and the adults had ample too room sit and chill out. I would go back today if I could.

Very clean and comfortable. Close to the grocery and downtown Gatlinburg. Not a luxury unit (doesn't have jacuzzi tubs in bathrooms, etc.) but a great family place to stay. We came with 2 families - each with four kids and we had plenty of room and great separate areas for kids and adults.
Even the flu couldn't dampen our spirits!

Upon arrival, a nasty flu bug made its way through the family - 8 adults and one baby. We were very thankful for four separate bathrooms! The view from the deck and the lovely cabin itself helped make being confined more pleasant for all. Everyone was thrilled with the video game in the basement with old favorites like Frogger and Donkey Kong - it became a challenged to top the scores in pinball.
The cabin was very conveniently located and with a back road to Pigeon Forge, made travelling a breeze. The entire cabin was very well equipped from the kitchen to the laundry room. There was reading material galore and plenty of games provided.
A most enjoyable week, despite the health issues, the kids all got to see a bear that walked across the back deck! I'm sure we will return for another stay and this cabin will continue to meet our needs for a few years until more grandchildren start arriving!
A gracious retreat

Jackson Homes provided a warm welcome, easy instructions on security and care of the home, and a follow up call to be sure everything was "just right". Chimney Top Overlook had a terrific open floor plan on the main level. Our family ranged in age from 15-91 year old --the main level bedrooms and bathrooms worked well for my mom and dad while the lower level worked well for the teenagers. I enjoyed chatting with family and friends gathered at the kitchen island. The rockers on the porches were delightful. We enjoyed our family reunion at the incredible common area near the pool. It was well worth the nominal rental fee! We'll be back.

The staff at Jackson Mountain Homes was very helpful when we made our reservation. We were concerned about the numbers of steps entering the home as we had senior adult traveling with us. The staff was able answer our questions regarding this matter.
We have stayed in many rentals, hotels, etc. in Gatlinburg over the last 20+ years. We have stayed near Ober Gatlinburg on Ski Mountain, off of Wiley Oakley, between Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge, and in downtown Gatliburg. We were a little unsure about staying in a "resort community" as we have never done so. The resort was really nice and peaceful. It wasn't crowded during our stay. The layout of the home is perfect for large groups and even couples. The location is great. You are close enough to all the action, but yet far enough away to enjoy the beautiful surroundings of the smokies. The drive up to the home isn't too bad. However, once you get to the home itself the driveway is very steep. This should be addressed more in the description of the home. If you have a small vehicle, I wouldn't recommend this partular rental. If staying during the winter months, it would be best to be in a vehicle with 4-wheel drive. I would also suggest that a hand-rail at the entrance into the home would be a nice addition. The steps could be a little step for senior adults or persons that have difficulty with steps. All in all our family would stay in Chimney Top again.

I have rented from JMH before, and they are always so helpful, courteous, and responsive. I can rely on them and their advertising.
Chimney Tops Overlook was just as we expected. We had four families meeting at the cabin, each with a bedroom, and with a few kids spread around on the floors. We loved that the dining table was big enough for us all to sit and eat together. The kitchen was well-equipped and nicely laid out. The two common rooms were very cozy, but with different feels to them. They allowed us to spread out when different groups needed space, although it was a little hard for 11 of us fit comfortably in one area for big events, like opening Christmas presents.
The location was great for the winter--we did not want something too secluded in case there was bad weather, and we wanted access to town and grocery for the kids, but without the commercialism. This place would be hard to get to on a snowy road, but since it is in a pretty large cabin community, it would likely be plowed and attended to. The drive to town and grocery was super-easy, but we still felt away from it all on the mountain-top. The view was great!
I have only two criticisms: the 4-person hot tub was small for a 12-person house. You would expect a 7-8-person tub for that size group. And it would have helped to have the hot tub cover on a different side of the tub so as not to block the view. Also, the house was a little run down in some aspects. The cabin is not brand new, but feels lived in and rented for several years. It might be time in a year or two for a little sprucing up! For instance, the washing machine smelled like mold, one of the Vcrs was broken, a tub's plumbing was stopped up, the bottom fell out of a rocking chair. Jmh responds to all of these issues immediately, but it seems as though past tenants do not always bring them to attention for upcoming guests to "find" on their own.
Fabulous mountain retreat added to our wonderful family vacation

This property in centrally located in the heart of Gatlinburg. It is minutes from a great market and the main shopping area of the town. The home is designed well and has four master suites, two on each floor. The kitchen and dining area are lovely. The kitchen is well layed out and the dining room table seats 10 or 12.
There are four master suites complete with their own bath. The furnishings are lovely and the view is spectacular. The game room has a pool table, air hockey table and there is a jacuzzi right outside on the lower deck.
The only drawback to the property is that it is located on a very steep incline and would be next to impossible to access during snowy weather.
The people at Jackson Homes are te3rrific and do their very best to make your stay plesurable. I would highly recommend this property and anxiously look forward to my return.

This was a wonderful home, that was well supplied except it needs more towels and rags, so you wouldn't have to wash as often. Other than that, it is perfect. I would sty there again, are any other cabin by this company. Staff was very friendly and promp with whatever we needed. Only thing upset me was I didn't get to see a bear, lol. Which of course is not the rentals fault, lol.
All in all, I could live there, noone wanted to leave, it had any and everything we needed, was very comfortable, it's actually a dream home :]

The cabin was great, although we had some difficulty with the downstairs TV remote--it might have needed batteries--not a big deal. On the last night of our stay, we were awakened by a bear trying to get into the trash container (he was successful at that a couple nights earlier). That was kind of scary! We love JMH and have stayed with you several times, and will very likely be back in a year or so. :-) Read more
Thank you for taking the time to review your recent stay at Chimney Top Overlook. Thank you for letting us know about the TV remote. We will replace the batteries. We agree, it can definitely be scary seeing a bear, but exciting too. We love having you as our guests and can't wait to see you again!

Very attractive and well furnished cabin. One of the queen bed mattresses not comfortable, but overall it was a lovely cabin with beautiful view. only downside was the antiquated charcoal barbque pit, a gas grill would have been more in keeping with the level of rental property

We had 9-11 people in our 4 bed/4 bath cabin for one week. Plenty of room. Nice pool facility. Great view. The living room and kitchen were a little smaller than it looked online, but the downstairs was plenty big so everyone had place to sit and relax.

Cabin very nice and comfortable. We had a wonderful time in Gatlinburg. Great views. Spacious, updated modern amenities. Would stay again because the cabin was wonderful. The only thing we noticed for improvement were the shower curtains had black mold on them because they were mounted too low and were always wet.

We loved the coziness of the home, even with 10 people, and the views were awesome. We were just minutes to downtown Gatlinburg and because we were just off Dudley Creek Bypass, we had a shortcut to Pigeon Forge. We were also very conveniently located close to the the arts and Crafts community on Glades Road and the grocery store was just a short distance. We had a great Thanksgiving meal right at the cabin and there were plenty of cooking and eating utensils to go around.

We had a wonderful vacation. Everyone was satisfied with their sleeping arrangements and the comfort of the accomodations. Our only sugestion would be some microwavable cups and dishes. Those in the cabin got very hot in the microwave so we couldn't easily reheat or make a cup of instant coffee.

What a beautiful place to stay!! My family and I, my parents and my sister and her family all stayed at Chimney Top Overlook in early April 2010. We were impressed with how easy and efficient the check-in process was. One of the great things about the location was that we were still very close to the attractions, shopping, and restaurants of downtown Gatlingburg but far enough away that we were out of the hub-bub and traffic. The home itself was very well taken care of with beautiful mountain furnishings. The porches with the rocking chairs were perfect for our morning coffee to watch the sunrise and great at night too. Our boys, ages 4-7, greatly enjoyed the air hockey table, pool table, NERF basketball, and the hot tub (the adults loved the hot tub as well). We loved that we could make our own meals at the house. There was even a charcoal grill outside the front door. All in all we had a great time and would highly recommend this house.
