Terre Haute, IndianaPeaceful stay with a beautiful view
Left on 06/27/2012 for a stay in June 2012
The service when renting from Jackson Mountain Homes is always superb. I doubt I would rent from anyone else. The home was well maintained and had all the necessary amenities needed. I do think they need to fix the balconies as they are slanting but still were sturdy. Just would have made me feel safer ont he side of the mountain. The view of the mountain each day was beautiful and we had a rainbow almost everyday. The cabin is very roomy allowing private time but also has plenty of space for all to be together. We had a wonderful stay. The location was great. It is a trek up the mountain but that is what we wanted for the view. This is stated as Sevierville on the survey but it was actually the other side of Gatlinburg. Parking was fine for our 4 cars. There is not a grassy area but that wasn't a problem for us since we didn't bring pets this time. I would stay there or another of the cabins thru JMH again. We hope to return soon. Jhm is a pleasure to work with.

While this cabin is furnished with tv's in nearly every room and a great surround-sound theater in the bottom level, we never got past the breathtaking views right outside. Loved the hot tub, private decks, pool table, and time-controlled fireplaces. On of the best retreats to the mountains I've had.

The home was perfect! Everyone had their own space, and a ton of common space to be together. The view was fabulous and accomodations were very comfortable. The parking was not well thought out, but we made it work with 5 cars. Overall, a great stay! We will be back.

Nashville, TNGreat time and a well stocked cabin
Left on 01/07/2012 for a stay in December 2011
We just returned from our stay over the New Year's holiday and wow, what a cabin. Excellent customer service at check-in and seamless!! We had 22 people in our group (toddler age to mid-sixty) and everyone really liked the cabin. It was stocked with plenty of dinnerware, silverware, cups and glasses, and pots and pans. With such a large crowd, it was a good thing we brought more garbage bags. Parking is definitely tricky. We were able to get 6 vehicles in, but it took some maneuvering. There was a leak in the bedroom to the left on the lower level. The bathroom tub leaked on the carpet on the other side of the wall in the bedroom. We never could get the Wi-Fi to work...I know it was suppose to be vacation...who needs Wi-Fi, but it comes in handy for Xbox games and some people had a little work to do. Overall, the cabin was really nice and well stocked with linens, toilet paper, and kitchen supplies. If you bring pets, be prepared to walk up or down the road (50-100 ft)for a grassy area. The grill outside was totally rotted out on the bottom and since we had abnormally warm weather for this time of year, it would've been nice to use it.

Left on 12/21/2011 for a stay in November 2011
Our 4 families gathered from all over and met in Gatlinburg. This home is beautiful and held our group of 15 comfortably. We loved gathering at the large dining room table and sharing meals together. The location is reasonably close to Gatlinburg for sightseeing. It is a very steep drive up to the home and the parking is very tight --4 cars max. The rooms and bathrooms are all of good size. The kids enjoyed playing games and watching TV downstairs. The pool table and air hockey are great but it does make it noisy to those watching TV below in the main living room - so plan your play time accordingly! We didn't use the hot tub as much as we thought we would - it is tucked away on the bottom level and it seemed a little dreary going there in the dark. Overall we had a blast winetasting and moonshine tasting in Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge. Kids loved all there was to do in town like miniature golf etc.

Second Annual Jackson Mountain trip to Gatlinburg
New Albany, IndianaWonderful cabin and view
Left on 11/16/2011 for a stay in November 2011
Jackson Mountain office had everything ready when we arrived for check in. When you first look at the directions to the cabin, you think they are vague but when you follow them as written, they are very accurate. They do a terrific job and are very friendly both on the phone and in person. The parking area needs some work. We had 4 cars and it was tight. When backing out, stay to the right or your car will bottom out. There were 11 of us in the Papa Bear's Lodge with plenty of room, although hot showers were difficult with everyone getting ready around the same time, everyone had their own bed. The cabin was clean and had all kitchen items you would need. The back deck was a bit unnerving with a slant toward the view. With the cabin as big as it is, it should have a gas grill instead of charcoal. The internet was out while we were there. We called and got prompt attention but it still didn't work. There were dead bugs all around the doors but a sign on the frig indicated the bugs were expected (we expected live ones). Any negatives mentioned above are paled with the positives. A great time was had by all during our stay.

The lodge is spacious, fantastic view, neat & clean. Very nice amenities, like pool table, air hockey, hot tub, tv/steros etc.
Kitchen is well equipped.
A few complaints: parking for more than 3 or 4 vehicles is difficult ; there was a bed w/ a broken spring and the sofa beds were uncomfortable; road lighting for nite driving would be helpful; and the signage for Pinnacle Vista Rd is hard to find at niteResponse from Jackson Mountain Homes - 08/25/2011

Papa Bear's Lodge is located far from town and is on a steep bank. The deck is in need of repair badly!! The cabin is nice and spacious. Beds are firm and a bit uncomfortable. Parking is best for smaller vehicles.

Left on 04/22/2011 for a stay in April 2011
There were two families in our party (4 adults and eight children). We stayed for four nights. We had more than enough room to spread out. More than one person commented how comfortable the beds are. The view from the cabin is awesome and very peaceful. We drank coffee/tea on the deck and watched the sunrise each morning. The only problem we had was trying to work the surround sound/dvd system in the basement - need instructions included in binder. When it was time to checkout, nobody wanted to leave. We plan to return again next year!

Left on 01/12/2011 for a stay in December 2010
We spent 7 nights in heaven. The office stay went out of their way to be helpful. The cabin was absolutely beautiful. Parking is very tricky though. Not a good spot for more than 3 vehicles. Everything else was as described and looked just like the pictures on the website. A few maint. issues (the two drawers in refrigerator were cracked making it hard to open and close them and the ice maker in the freezer hardly made any ice) Other than that it was a wonderful vacation. Would definately come again.

The cabin was fantastic, the view was heaven, the staff was the best-helpful and friendly, the parking alittle tricky, since we had 5 larger cars, but we figured it out. Our stay was so great that my grandkids are ready to go back now. They haven't stopped talking about it yet. With 19 people in the cabin, we had not one complaint, more than enough space and a ton of fun. Thank you for a most wonderful time. We have become very loyal customers and would recommend this cabin and the wonderful staff to anyone and everyone...We will be back!!!

Beautiful location, quiet, homey atmosphere, well epuipped, clean, Jackson Mt. Homes were very good and helpful. Only problem was parking for several automobiles. Max 3 vehicles for convience. We had 5 vehicles and to move 1 it was usually move all and parking that many required exceptional driving skill.

We had a wonderful time getting together with family from three different states! The "cabin" was wonderful for a large group. The weather was perfect the long weekend we were there - the only downside were the "ladybugs" (beetles) that infested the cabin! Everyone thoroughly enjoyed their stay!!

Cincinnati, OHAmazing views, updated & beautiful decor, plenty of space!
Left on 10/28/2010 for a stay in October 2010
Papa Bear's Lodge met and exceeded our expectations of a mountain rental home. We have rented approximately 15 homes over the past years in the Gatlinburg/Smoky Mountain area. This home has gorgeous views, in a peaceful area. There was plenty of room for our college students, grandparents, and 40 somethings to use. The private baths in each bedroom were huge and very nice. The decor and condition of the furniture was excellent. The access to town was easy enough, but we like to spend a lot of time in the park and this meant we always had to go through town first. In October this was a bit of an issue. The home is a little farther out from town than we prefer also. The road up to the home was difficult to find in the dark and sometimes during the day, better street signs would be helpful. However it road up was easy and not busy, which was sooo much better than say Ski Mountain Road. Overall, we would definitely return to this home.

Pictures and description are very accurate, parking is a issue and a leak from the master bath to the downstairs bedroom were the only problems that occured. The views are excellent and the cabin was very clean and just as advertised. I would stay again if I was staying in the area.

Thank you for your comments. We are happy to hear that you enjoyed your stay. We apologize for any parking issue with your motorcycles you experienced. Thank you for calling us about the leak so that we could send someone to the cabin immediately to check it. Fortunately, our maintenance department found the leak was due to the shower liner not being completely inside the shower. We are glad you did not experience any problems after that. We hope to see all of you again soon!
