I think it was a combination of things which led to disappointment by my wife and I. The location was out of the loop and required a great deal of driving to get back to Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg. It was sparsely furnished with basics but few extras which we have had in the past (blankets, firewood). Maybe I am just getting old and cranky. Read more
Thank you for taking the time to review your stay at Naughty by Nature. We are sorry to hear that you experienced any disappointment. Our website provides the approximate drive time from each cabin to downtown Gatlinburg (for this cabin, 12 minutes), as well as each cabin's location on an area map. As stated in our policies: "All of our homes provide bed linens (sheets, pillowcases, 1 blanket & bedspread per bed)". We do provide firewood. After your departure the cabin was inspected and we noted approximately 35 pieces of firewood remaining at the cabin. We apologize if it was overlooked. We sincerely hope that you did enjoy your stay and that you will choose Jackson Mountain Homes in the future.

We really loved this cabin for the week. Even though it's meant for couples it actually worked out super well for us and our baby. It's got pretty much everything you need. It's closer to the main part of gatlinburg than other places, though it's always important to keep in mind that it takes longer to get to places in the mountains cuz of all the ups and downs and winding roads! We are from the city and anything we need is like 5 minutes away in any direction! Anyway, the cabin was nice. The spiral staircase was scary but just takes getting used to. The view was great. It was very clean when we got there. It's also very up to date. It was nice to watch the mountains in the distance because we would see the clouds come up over them.
Honestly I think the only improvements I would have made were to the kitchen utensils.. For example the knives were really dull (which is dangerous) and cutting a potato with a chef knife was practically impossible. And I'm not sure if I'm spoiled because I work as a baker but I kept wishing for a rubber spatula! At the same time, though, I got by very well with everything they had there.

The cabin was just exactly what my husband & I were looking for to celebrate our anniversay. The privacy that came with this home both during the day & at night could not be beat. The cabin itself had everything that we needed - I did not cook but we did use the refrigerator, coffee pot & tea kettle. The hot tub was nice; however, there is no gate to shut out the world so anyone or anything could walk right down and you would not know it until they are already there. This did not bother my husband at all but I was a bit concerned. Other than that, this is a great cabin and we would definitely rent it again.

We arrived after hours on aug 5, but that didn't matter, the check-in process was easy. We called ahead for a number to obtain our keys and directions to the cabin without incident.
We have a lovely time at Naughty By Nature and though we were further from Gatlinburg than what we initially realized it still wasn't that bad of a drive.
The only suggestions I have is to tell renters they need to put a rock on the trash container otherwise they will have bear company.
The other suggestion I have is to add more light to the cabin. The kitchen sorely needs a light above the sink and it would be nice if there were a fan with a fan light in the ceiling.
Other than that, we wouldn't have any complaints.
It was nice to have a washer and dryer and internet service. Both of those came in very handy and the kitchen was well equipped.
Thank you for the wonderful stay. We will be contacting you again.
Nice, clean, well-kept. View not as expected.

The cabin was very nice, clean, and well-kept. It had somewhat of a urine smell, but nothing overvearing. Jackson Homes was great to meet all of our requests. While the cabin was nice, and the pictures on the website are real, remember that dimension is not shown in pictures. While the mountain view looks like you are at least even with the mountain, and it is quite a ways in the distance, we felt like the mountain was almost on top of us and we were looking up at it. This was the biggest disappointment for us as we are major 'view' people. Everything else was nice. While we won't stay here again, it's good for someone to whom view is not as important. This is not meant to be a negative review, but one to prevent someone else from being disappointed in the view. Read more
Thank you for taking the time to review your recent stay at Naughty by Nature. We hope that you enjoyed your stay and apologize for any smell. We are sorry to hear that you were disappointed by the view. Many guests have commented on how much they loved the view and several have included photos of the view in their own reviews; however, we understand that not everyone prefers the same thing. Thank you for noting that our photos online are accurate. We hope that you will choose Jackson Mountain Homes for your next vacation or getaway.

Me and my wife stayed here from 4-29 to 5-2 and we had a blast. Check in was a breeze and jackson mountain homes reps were helpful the whole way through the process. The cabin itself was wonderful pictures were accurate and had no pproblems. Cabin is right by a stream so we had the peaceful sound of rushing water the entire trip. Could not have been better.

This is now our 2nd visit in Naughty by Nature and our 3rd visit with Jackson Mountain Homes. We will never book with another company again! We absolutely love the gorgeous cabins you offer and your customer service is impeccable.
Naughty by Nature is updated, modern, and most of all comfortable. The views are great from both balconies.. we started each morning with a cup of coffee on the top deck and ended each night with a cold one in the hot tub on the bottom deck. Naughty by Nature is extremely easy to get to and even though there are a few cabins in your view, you still feel completely secluded. The mattress is comfortable, decor is on point, and the kitchen is stocked with anything you would need. The spiral staircase is a little steep and narrow, but what spiral staircase isn't?
Check-in is a breeze, late check-in is even easier. Upon request, maintenance kept our firewood fully stocked, even in the middle of heavy snowfall. The stay was flawless. Check-out was just a simple phone call.
We will forever recommend Jackson Mountain Homes and we're already looking forward to our next stay with you all this fall.

I checked in late and had no problems. The cabin was easily found and looked just like the photos on the website. Everything was clean and the kitchen was well stocked. The pillows were "noisy" as was mentioned in others' reviews, but my husband and I both thought the bed was comfortable. The only true negative thing was the sulfer smell of the water. I'm not sure if this always happens, but the smell was overwhelming. I never called to ask if this was "normal" so I really don't have much room to complain. Otherwise, everything was perfect. We were a late arrival after traveling 450 miles by motorcycle but had no problem picking up our packet or finding our cabin. The cabin was exactly as pictured and was very clean and comfortable. It smelled like new when we opened the door. We especially enjoyed the view, the privacy, the hot tub, the firepace, and the great roads in the area for motorcycling . We didn't do any cooking but the kitchen was well furnished. We found the bed to be very comfortable, not uncomfortably hard as others had commented. (Made us wonder if the owners had recently replaced the mattress?) Pillows were a little noisy due plastic covers but not bad. The water pump noise in the basement others commented on was not a problem at all. It only ran when we were using water. I am a "germophobic" nurse and pretty picky about accomodations but this cabin met my expectations! We would highly recommend it and definitely plan to return!

Everything was wonderful in the cabin we loved the hot tub and pool table , but we were pretty bummed we didn't see much wildlife . The staircase is a little hard to get up and down but all in all everything was great . It was our wedding week , horrible car show so be aware if your planning on coming back mid September because that was literally the worst traffic ever ! I had to walk 3 miles for my hair appt. for my wedding because we were at a standstill for an hour in traffic and still the traffic wasn't moving

This cabin is ~10 minutes outside of Gatlinburg, you are "alone"-- when on the back deck you can't see other cabins are right. We loved that! There is road noise (close to 321), but that's not a real burden. The hot tub was the best we've had. The cabin is nicely appointed, but there are a few "downers." The kitchen & upstairs bathroom are not well lit. The kitchen needs more flatware & plates (we had to do dishes every meal-- we cooked ~twice a day); cooking utensils are sparse. Only 1 oven mit. There is only 1 "water" glass and 2 highball glasses, but plenty of wine stems. The grill is tiny, and the cooking rack on it makes you use an insane amount of charcoal to keep the fire close enough to your food to cook. The two biggest issues for us were the aC and some water pressure thing in the basement making noise-- lots of noise. Ac unit that is so loud that we turned it off to sit outside not have to shout; the water thing in the basement is so loud that it woke us up at night. Comments by previous reviewers about a "hard bed" worried us, but it was fine, as were the linens. A warning about the spiral stairs-- if you're a bigger person, or someone with joint problems, these will probably be a problem for you; I got used to it after a day or so (use it to access pool table and hot tub and w/d). You can always walk around the house outside to get down there, though. It was a really lovely area, and we were very pleased overall-- it's the best JMH cabin we've stayed in (this is our 4th or 5th stay): great views and pretty darned quiet and secluded. Like this area so much we'll come back to stay at this cabin-- or the other JMH one up the road (Seneca)-- at our next visit in a year or so. Read more
Thank you for taking the time to review your recent stay at Naughty by Nature. We are very happy to hear that this was the best cabin you've stayed in! We apologize that you experienced any "downers". Typically, each cabin is stocked with enough kitchen items for the number of people it will accommodate. Because this cabin only sleeps 2 people, there are likely fewer items than you may find in some other cabins; however, we will assess the kitchen items and add more as needed. We will also have the a/c and water units serviced to make sure they are both working properly. We appreciate all of your kind words and your understanding. We look forward to seeing you again soon!

Our stay at Naughty by Nature was so relaxing! The view from the deck was breathtaking! Our cabin was clean and very functional. It is in a secluded location so there is no one to either side of you. The wifi worked with no problems and the kitchen is equipped with everything you need and then some. We had no problem sleeping, the bed was very comfortable, as were the couches in the main room. I have hip problems, but was able to manuever the spiral staircase with no problem. We would recommend Jackson Mountain Homes for their service and beautiful cabins!

This cabin was great in every area except the bedding. The bed was very hard and the pillows had some kind of cheap plastic cover. Other than those issues, everything else was perfect! The cabin was the perfect size for my husband and me. We loved the location and that there were no cabins directly beside it, which gave us more privacy. We got a lot of use out of the hot tub and the pool table, and we really enjoyed our stay. The staircase is kind of hard to maneuver, but it didn't stop us from going up and down all the time. The only bad thing was that every time we ran water, flushed a toilet, etc. the pump in the downstairs bathroom/laundry room made a really loud high pitched noise. Also, we booked our stay about 1 1/2 months in advance and a couple of weeks later, they offered a discount that we didn't get since we had already booked. So, I might recommend waiting to as close to your stay as possible to book to get the best deal. We had a great time, and we are really happy we spent our first anniversary there!
Amazing sunset view, private location, yard, firm bed
Left on 01/25/2012 for a stay in January 2012 | Lane Fox
The view of the mountain is pretty good but the view of the sunset is amazing. We spent each night in the hot tub watching the sunset. There is also a small back yard with a fence. I'm attaching a picture of the first night we stayed and saw the sunset.
The bed is very firm, we did not like it. The water heater or water pump or something was also running quite frequently and makes a loud whining noise while doing so.
It's 15-20 minutes east of mid town Gatlinburg basically 2 blocks from the Zipline tour office. The location is private, its the first cabin on the road entry and there are local houses below and beyond the trees and a few rental cabins futher up the road. We had no complaints about the cabin itself, everything was in excellent condition and is what you would expect from JMH. There is also Wireless internet, my wife was able to conveniently connect and do her online school tests one of the days.
I would choose something closer to town if you are looking to do a bunch of activities to the west such as Cades Cove since the daily 20 minute drive to town can be a little inconvenient if you like to get an early start like us.

The cabin rental staff was extremely friendly and helpful with everything. The cabin itself was great as well. It's a touch small, so if you have more than two people, you're going to be pretty cramped. Our one gripe was that there was no TV downstairs by the pool table. Great views, the hot tub was awesome, and the drive to the cabin from the city itself isn't nearly as long as some places we've stayed.

The reservation and check in process was a breeze. The home was great for the two of us and we loved the view. Privacy was important, so this cabin was perfect. We had a difficult time sleeping due to the linens and pillows. I suggest bringing your own. We had an extended stay and there are very few clothes hangers in the cabin. We had to purchase additional ones for our clothes and coats. Overall our stay was wonderful and we would recommend this cabin. We can't wait to stay here again!

Friendly easy check in, simple directions to cabin. Clean cabin, if you like to take a hot shower or bath this is the place for you. Great mountain view from the upper deck, lower deck you are surrounded by trees. We liked the cabin, like others mentioned before the matress is hard, if you are not used to one you will have trouble falling asleep. Location is away from the city, but you can jump on the trolley just a few miles down the road and head to Gatlinburg. The spiral staircase looks good, but is not practical, if you have hip problems you might have difficulties getting up and down. A nice place to stay if you like the quietness or solitute.

My husband and I booked Naughty by Nature for four nights, for our Wedding. We had stayed in another cabin previously that we loved, that was more rustic (& already booked) so we decided to try this one. While the photos are impressive, and at first glance the cabin looks nice, but it didn't take long for us to be disappointed by several things. For one thing, the type of, or lack of, lighting is frustrating and makes it difficult to see well in both the bedroom and in the kitchen area. The bed was absolutely the hardest bed we've ever slept in. Firm doesn't begin to describe it, and my husband slept miserably every night. The cable in the living room didn't work at all. There is very loud pump or tank of some sort that comes on every single time you use any water. Its extremely loud and stays on for several minutes each time it activates. This is very disturbing if someone uses the bathroom in the middle of the night. The drier (located in 1st floor bathroom) is vented inside that room. We put a load in to dry and within minutes the whole downstairs was like a sauna. The walls were dripping with water in the pool table room. And, the black sprial staircase was so wet from the drier humidity that black paint was rubbing off on our hands and clothing. The view is OK from the top deck, but no where near as nice as where we've stayed in other cabins in the area, and the hot tub didn't have nearly enough water in it so the jets were making loud suction noises. The cookware that is provided is awful. We made scrambled eggs and spent nearly 30 min trying to clean the pans because all of the non-stick finish had worn off previously. We find it very hard to believe that the owner has ever stayed there or they would have made several improvements, in order to make things more user friendly! The Great Smoky Mountains are a wonderful place to visit but we were disappointed in this cabin. Read more

Naughty by nature was a beautiful little retreat that was very private, yet easy to get to. Staff at Jackson Mountain Homes was very friendly and easy to work with when we were showing up late in the evening. The cabin was comfortable, a great place to relax and enjoy the morning and evenings, and still very close to Gatlinburg and the surrounding area. I was pleased and yet disappointed by the location of the cabin; pleased because it was far enough away from Gatlinburg that there was little to no noise disturbance which made for a very peaceful stay. But as we started to venture out and look for things to do, we found most activities to our liking were Past Gatlinburg in the park, so it made for quite a drive to go anywhere. But the seclusion overall outweighed the drive in the end I think, mainly because our trip was for our wedding, and we were quite happy to have the privacy when we were in the cabin.

We did a lot of looking before booking this cabin. Our stay was absolutely wonderful! The moment we walked in we fell in love with this place.
The only down side to the room was the firm bed. If you like firm beds then you will be fine. My wife and I both like softer beds. This is a personal preference, not a defect with the room.
However, we talked often while we were there about when we would return. Not sure when my wife and I will be able to go back, but Naughty by nature is at the top of our list to revisit!

The cabin was beautiful and either newly remodeled or newly built. Everything was clean and in great working condition. However, there were two major complaints. The first and more minor was a piece of equipment that ran downstairs every time you used water in the building that was quite loud. At least you only had to put up with it when you ran the water though. The biggest complaint was the bed. It was literally the hardest mattress that my fiance and I had ever tried to sleep on and the pillows were not much better. After our first sleepless night we resorted to pushing the couch and love seat together and sleeping on them for the next two nights. We told the staff at the office about the issue and they were apologetic but of course there wasn't much that could be done at that point. It's really such a shame that they had clearly spent so much time and money on a beautiful cabin but had skimped so horribly on something so essential. Read more
Thank you for taking the time to review your recent stay at Naughty by Nature. We hope that you enjoyed your stay and sincerely apologize that you experienced any discomfort with the bed. Everything we could have asked for. We used all the amenities and found everything we needed for our weekend. Slept soundly, enjoyed the private deck with amazing view. Wonderful pool table with amazing wood work throughout, & CD player. Just far enough out of town. Close to golf course. Staircase is a snug fit, but we had read the reviews and used it multiple times a day. Would love to see that view in the Fall. We would definitely recommend this cabin for couples.

My husband and I had a great time staying at this cabin. The second floor deck has a spectacular mountain view. The cabin also offers great wireless internet connection and cable tv channels (for those who still want to be plugged in). We loved the pool table and jacuzzi on the bottom level. Also the shower and whirpool tub are great!
The only minor problems we had were problems previous reviewers have covered. The stairs leading down to the bottom level are very narrow, making it hard to navigate down. Also, the bed is very firm, even though it appears to have a small mattress topper on it. We got used to it after the first night though. The pillows are also a little on the firm side. Luckily we brought our own from home. The last minor issue was with the toilet seat. According to my husband, it will not stay up. The knob the owners have installed for flushing the toilet sticks out very far making it hard for the seat to stay up.
Other than these minor issues, we had a great time. We would stay at this cabin again or any other through Jackson Mountain Homes.

I can't tell you how much we loved staying here! This was our first vacation in over a decade - our excuse was "in honor of our 14th wedding anniversary and my 40th birthday" - you have to have an excuse, don't you? Just make one up! ;)
The only other house you see is the next cabin up the road - but that's only as you pull up to yours. We never heard another soul and the view from the upper and lower decks were spectacular. If you want to see any light at night you're gonna have to look hard or turn your own on! View and seclusion were my priorities. I was not disappointed.
My husband loved the hot tub, wireless internet, pool table, and spiral staircase. The staircase was something to get used and the hot tub could use a step stool or something - a little effort to get into and out of. But it would not deter me from coming back.
I have to tell you that staff and maintenance were wonderful. The first night we discovered there was no hot water. We were content to wait till the morning but they got somebody out there right away - even though it was late evening. He worked on the hot water tank for a short while and got things fixed. Very nice people.
The cabin is about 10 minutes outside of downtown Gatlinburg and that's no hassle at all if you want some privacy.
We enjoyed every second of our stay at Naughty By Nature - I nearly cried when we had to leave ;)
Thank you Jackson Mountain Homes - we're following you on Facebook and we'll be back!!

Thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts regarding your most recent stay with us. We are delighted to hear you enjoyed this cabin but we are very sorry to hear you are experiencing a rash!
It is not uncommon for guests that spend anytime outdoors in Gatlinburg (on decks, hiking, arts & crafts area and even downtown) to come into contact with a variety of irritants from poison ivy, insects (chiggers in particular) to even the simple fact that we have a been under a high pollen alert which has caused everyone’s allergies to go into overdrive. In fact, the weather channel said we are #1 in the country for allergies this year! Regardless of the reason, we truly hope you are feeling better soon and hope you will keep us posted on your progress.

Check-in was seamless, and our cabin was lovely, clean, and very private...just what we were looking for. There are only 2 things that I would have to say in the negative and that is the spiral staircase to downstairs where the pool table is located is narrow and a bit difficult to manuver (especially after a few cocktails) and the bed is a bit firm for my taste but comfortable nonetheless. Very cozy, loved the kitchen, very tastefully decorated, and the location was great. My husband and I were on our honeymoon and couldn't have been any happier...private and perfect.

Overall Naughty by Nature is a great chalet. It was very clean and well decorated. The view was amazing. The bed was pretty comfortable and the couches in the family room were extremely comfortable.
It's about a 15 min drive to Gatlinburg, but the chalet is easy to find and the road it's on is not that difficult to manuver. Although there are other chalets near, it is secluded. This chalet is perfect for one couple, or maybe a couple with one or two children. Any more people than that and it may be a little crowded.
The only complaint we had was the spiral staircase. It's very narrow and might not be easy for everyone to use. Other than that it was perfect. I've rented from Jackson Mountain a few times and have never been disappointed. They are friendly and helpful! I recommend them to all my family and friends when they are looking for chalet rentals.

My boyfriend and I had a wonderful time staying in Naughty By Nature. Beautiful cabin, beautiful view, and beautiful weather. The cabin was wonderful! Very private and secluded. A little far from Gatlinburg, but overall we loved it! Our only complaint would be the ladybugs that chose to stay in the cabin as the same time as us, but it was only a minor blip in our stay! We've already talked about coming back next year and staying in the same cabin.
This was a very peaceful and private weekend.

Everything was what the website said it would be. Jmh did find one of the best photographers to take their website photos because they made the cabin look quite a bit larger than it was but it was still an awesome cabin. My only complaint would be the pillows & linens. A little douney never hurt anyone. The toilet seat wouldn't stay up either but that was a minor issue. overall it was a fantastic cabin and JMH was very plesant to deal with.
Cozy, comfortable cabin in a solitary location

The location of the cabin was excellent in terms of locality to others - very personal and secluded. However, it was a slight drive to get to Dollywood, and Downtown. The owner of the cabin checked in several times and was very friendly/helpful - this was very impressive! Overall a very nice place to stay, but had its "little" annoyances like any other "home away from home". For example, there was no floor mat by the front door (inside the unit), the toilet seat would not stay up due to oversize handle installed on toilet, the wireless internet kept going out, lack of lighting in the bathroom and kitchen. As you can tell I am an extremely picky person. Do not let these tidbits deter you from choosing this cabin as it is a wonderful choice for couples looking to get away. I would not hesitate to return to Naughty by Nature.

Would do this again. Was very nice. This is a secluded property, not part of a cabin community, so that was great! Very Romantic!! Great view of mountains off the decks! Only complaint was a very large hornet/wasp nest above the hot tub. Very big nest, no way this property had been checked over any time soon prior to our arrival. Check things over at any of these cabins as soon as you arrive. Cost us a day in the hot tub and this review from 5-stars! Read more
Thank you for taking the time to review your stay at Naughty by Nature. We are glad that you enjoyed the cabin! We are terribly sorry that the wasp nest was overlooked prior to your arrival. While we do inspect every cabin prior to arrival, occasionally, something can be missed. If you do experience any problem, please contact the office and we will send someone to the cabin immediately to take care of it. We appreciate your understanding and hope that you will choose Jackson Mountain Homes for your next vacation or getaway!
Great mountain view - secluded location.

We were very pleased with the overall condition of the cabin. It was well furnished, nicely decorated (no 80s decor!), and well maintained. The mountain view of the park was amazing, and you could not see the other cabins in the area. The road to the cabin was a little narrow and seems like it could be difficult to travel in bad weather. The name of the cabin, however, is terrible and should be changed! All in all, we were very pleased with the cabin and enjoyed our stay.

Staff was great to deal with and we appreicated the phone call too see if everything was OK. The view from both decks were great and very private.Location was about 15 minutes away from main street gatlinburg. The cabin is small but ok for 2 people.Cabin is clean and has every thing you need fully equiped kitchen charcoal grill on deck.Bed was very hard, and could use a step to help get in and out of hot tub.A dvd player would be nice also..Wife didnt care for spiral steps to lower level. Over all would stay again and recommend for couple wanting a private getaway.
