We stayed at the Cottage View for 2 for our 17th wedding anniversary. We've been coming to the Gatlinburg/Pigeon Forge area for years, and this was our favorite place yet! The view is amazing, and the cottage is very comfortable and secluded, yet right off the road. The decor is beautiful and homey. The driveway and parking area is flat, which is a plus. It is a quick (and curvy) drive to the main drag in Gatlinburg, so you are close to the action, but far enough away to only hear the sounds of nature. And there is a charming path that leads through the woods to a beautiful outlook. The Mountain Laurel Chalets staff is wonderful, and the price was good for the amenities. We have already recommended this cottage to our friends and are looking forward to coming back next year! Thank you for sharing your sweet cottage with us!

Our stay at this chalet was great all around except for one thing: wasps\bees on the upstairs porch area. My girl friend was stung one time - no big deal - but it was annoying to be buzzed all the time by the insects while trying to enjoy the hot tub and view.
Thank you for your recent stay with us. We regret that you had a problem with wasps. Please contact our office when you have any issues and we will do our best to correct them. We are glad that this didn't ruin your stay. We hope that you will come back and stay with us on your next trip to the smokies.

We loved the views from this property. The changing weather patterns provided varied and spectacular views of Mt. LeConte. The cottage was very cozy, comfortable and well appointed. We loved the house and was in awe of the view! We celebrated our 40th wedding anniversary here and enjoyed everything-playing pool, having breakfast on the balcony each morning, The only drawback was that the bed was not comfortable so restful sleep was not possible. We've never tried a sleep number bed and now will never buy one. Other than that we had a great time! Read more

We appreciate all your good feed back on the chalet. It does have a great view and is a great chalet. We are sorry that the bed was not comfortable. Unfortunately we all have different wants as far as mattresses are concerned. Hopefully next time the bed will be more to your suiting. We look forward to seeing you soon.

This is a very cozy home for two. Lots of space and privacy which in the villlage is a rare commity. Well laid out with very comfortable furniture and well equipped kitchen. The only drawback is the outdoor grill , charcoal, which requires more time and mess to grill on versus a gas grill. We mention this because a young bear loves to visit the front porch , look in the windows and check out the grill area. You have to pay attention when grilling so you do not feed an uninvited guest.
We loved this home and will stay there again. We go too the mountains 2-3 times each year and found this gem by chance. A definite must stay.

After 35 yrs. of staying in Mountain Laurel Chalets I must say they just keep getting better. After a violent Thunder storm took out some key amenities the company and owners were swift to rectify the situation and restore all services.
We loved this place so very much and after a week we still did not want to leave! The cottage was very well equipped and offered the most spectacular view of the mountains I have ever seen. It was exactly as advertised but better than the photos and video offered. Because I am somewhat disabled the stairs were a challenge. But other than that, I wouldn't change a thing! The land around this unit was superb. Very private! It was so quiet and peaceful that we melted into a mountain grove that made us want to just stay there...al the time. Unfortunately no bears visited. But I guess that's a good thing, they are in the wild where they should be.

We loved staying at this chalet. It had everything we needed to have a nice relaxing week to ourselves. It was also far enough from the city to be nice but not so far as to be completely out of the way. We loved the views especially from the upper deck. We were celebrating our first vacation together and I hope it will not be our last. Thank you so much for the experience.

Cute little house with a big view. Lots of color the week of our stay, especially on the property. Very private and secluded even though home is close to the road. Enjoyed the Halloween decorations, gave a "homey" feel to the place. Stayed at owners other property (Bear Butt Bluff) for Valentines, and it was decorated as well. Kitchens at both homes were very well stocked with everything we needed.
We really had no use for the pool table room, other than for storage for our luggage. Not a lot of closet space for two people for a week needing to accomodate several jackets and coats. Neither one of us ever really got comfortable with the sleep number bed. Did not use the park style grill in the yard. Was afraid of attracting bears as there had been bear problems in town that week.
We would stay at either of these properties again, as they are so well appointed and cared for. We didn't have to sacrifice comfort for beauty or view. We are all about the view and the beauty of the mountains. We are drawn back year after year. We have only stayed at properties managed by Mountain Laurel the last few years. They are always extremely nice and helpful to us. No need to look anywhere else. They manage the best properties.

Our stay in this cozy little cottage was extraordinary! The steep drive up the hillside to the chalet can be challenging at night, but that's our only complaint.
The chalet has level/safe parking (gravel instead of concrete), a washer and dryer (unexpected bonus!), and an extraordinary view.
The two gas fireplaces were very handy, and provided some nice warmth on the cold Smokey Mountain nights. The view in the morning and evening was amazing, especially from the top porch/balcony. The kitchen is well-equipped with everything you'll need to cook just about anything.
We will definitely stay here again - this chalet's owners are very active in maintaining the chalet, and adding new things like a very reliable high-speed internet connection (I brought my iPad to do some light email)!

Stayed in this chalet for our 25th anniversary it was fantastic!! The view was breathtaking. It was very clean and well kept up. The first morning we were there we were in the hottub and 3 bears came up the driveway and right up to the front of the chalet then walked over to the outdoor grill then into the woods. It was truly thrilling to see the bears that is the one thing i really wanted to see on my trip and I got triplets!!! It is a very romantic place definately recommend for anniversary or honeymoon. Mountains were beautiful. Perhaps the Map could have been more help, but we arrived @ 1 am and are not the "sharpest knife in the drawer" with directions. Located on a beautiful, scenic mountainside setting, this home met all of our needs for space, amenities, and proximity to the area attractions. We loved the layout with the second floor hot tub and Jacuzzi, and the views from both of them. It was well stocked with kitchen items and the linen exchange service was friendly and convenient. We visited many of the Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge attractions, and a day trip to the Biltmore Estate was a fun outing, even with the Interstate closed. Our only complaint was the sharp turn needed to negotiate the driveway at the house. We got stuck on a stump in the driveway and damaged our car. Overall we would highly recommend this home to anyone looking for some time away alone!

This is the 4th time Deb and I have stayed at Cottage View 4 2. We have also stayed at Bear Butt Bluff and the Destin FL condo owned by the same family. Their properties are WONDERFUL and we will remain loyal customers for years to come.
Cottage View 4 2 is perfect for a couple looking to get away and share some intimacy. The grounds are private, the view is spectacular, and the chalet is wonderfully kept up and well stocked will all of the amenities you need. We will be coming back soon.
Bear Butt is the place to be for a family, or multiple couples. A little higher up the mountain, it also offers spectacular views. Large bedrooms, top of the line furnishings, granite counter tops, and two amazing decks here!
Their place in Destin is beyond words. Check it out in the book they have at either chalet. I promise you'll love it. We are going back there this August and we can't wait! The first time we booked it we were staying at Cottage View! And on the last day of our vacation in Destin we decided to extend it for 2 days by booking Cottage View again!

We were greeted by the friendly and helpful staff that informed us about directions, stores, and exchanging linen. The home was beautiful and very clean. We picked this place because it said that it was located on several acres of land. Even though there was a home across the road from us and one behind us, with the tall trees and the way the home was facing it gave a very quiet, private feeling - which is exactly what we wanted. The kitchen had everything you needed. It came with a pool table, which we didn't think we would use, but we did enjoy playing pool every night. It was minutes away from downtown Gaitlinburg so it didn't take long to get to a store or restuarant. The best part of our stay was spending time on the upper deck either just looking at the wonderful view in the daytime or relaxing in the hot tub looking at the stars. We lucked out with a full moon coming out before our stay had ended. It was quiet and restful. We hardly watched T.V. or left the chalet. The first night we arrived we saw a large bear walking across the front lawn. We were on the upper deck so she didn't even know we were there. It was great, but we never did see another bear. I would have enjoyed the hot tub better had there been a small stool to step up on to get in and out. I am only 5'2", so without my husband's help it would have been very difficult. I understand not wanting to put up "steps", but a short stool, say about 6" high would have been nice. We also noticed that one of the trees in the front yard is beginning to block some of the beatiful view. Other than that, our visit was wonderful and we have already told others about how nice this house is. Which by the way, we heard about Mountain Laurel Chalets from a friend who had stayed at the Magnolia Place. While we were there we drove up to look at it in case we want to try someplace different on a return trip.

My wife and I stayed 5 days/nights in the Cottage View For 2. The house was very neat and clean and equipped with everything we needed. We spent a LOT of time in the hot tub enjoying the mountain view. Only complaint was work going on in the area...2 days of chainsaws as workers cleared power lines, and a period of no water when workers worked on water out in the street. However, no fault of the chalet...all in all, it was a great stay. I would highly recommend it and would stay there again.

view for two! The view is great! We wanted
this vacation to be quiet, relaxing. Boy,
did we get this with this chalet. It is so
private. The bedroom was upstairs, it had a
whirlpool tub, hot tub on deck, the view was
great. We have stayed with Mountain Laurel
many times before and this is the first
chalet we have seen BEARS! Our first day
there we had one come up the path that is
made for viewing the Mt LeConte. It came
right up on the porch then wondered around
the house and all. On 8 different occasions
we seen them, one day there was two
together. Wow, right up on the porch. We got
lots of good pictures and video! After that
we did not lounge around on the lower deck,
instead we used the upstairs deck which we
got great views of them!
The chalet is really equipped with
everything you need, the kitchen had all the
things one needs. We took all our food with
us and did our own cooking, so we wouldn't
have to go down off the mountain, everything
at your fingertips! Such a great place!!!

I have stayed in a couple of different rentals in this area but this was by far the nicest. Everything was exactly as described. It was very well appointed and there was nothing that I felt was left out.
Picking up the keys was quick and the drive up the mountain is pleasant. Do check the weather though because past the office where you pick up the keys, if there is ice or snow, you will need 4-wheel drive or chains to make it up to the house.
The views are spectacular from the house and even though it's closer to the road than I would have thought, it's very private.
Everything was in great working order - the fireplaces, all the appliances, the hot tub. It was all well maintained and clean.
The whole house was so nicely decorated.
If there was one thing I would change, that isn't really a complaint so much for me personally, but might be for others is the grill. It wasn't great, and was very small and primitive. More like something you'd see at a camp ground than a nice house.
I would definitely recomment this place to anyone looking for a nice play to stay on the mountain.

My wife and I stayed here for our 10th anniversary last year. It was the first week of October. Another week would have given us more leaf color, but there was plenty to keep your attention. The cottage was beautiful. It was very clean, quiet and comfortable. Relaxing wasn't a problem as it felt more like our own place than a hotel room would have. A short drive to Gatlinburg for dining and shopping was a plus, but not near as wonderful as drives through the Smoky Mountain National Park. Beautiful views and amazing scenery were just a short drive away. We plan on returning and taking our son with us next time. I would highly recommend this property.
