We had an amazing week at Big Bear Lodge and plan to do it again

Our family, including our children, their spouses and 7 grandchildren - were at the cabin. We found it spacious for all 15 of us. The bedrooms were perfect. We loved having the large game room in the basement. We really liked the privacy. There is a cabin behind Big Bear Lodge but it was through the trees and not real close.
Great cabin but...

We brought a group of 24 people (mostly teenagers) to Gatlinburg for our Fall Retreat and the Big Bear Lodge worked perfectly for us. There was more than enough room, the house was clean, the view was lovely and the kitchen worked great for us to cook several meals. We would absolutely go there again if we were in the area with a large group!

We had a very nice trip to smoky during Labor Day weekend. It was a family of above 20 people and the cabin had accommodated all us comfortably. There is plenty of room in the cabin it being very spacious. All the members of the group have liked the cabin a lot and enjoyed it thoroughly. Nice parking place, nice drive up hill, and it has a good view of mountains but not great, it has its own privacy as well. All along the trip, Staying at this cabin was a much appreciated thing the group had felt.
Only one thing which I did not like was, Water seems smelly. Not sure if that is how the mountain waters would be but, if possible should be addressed.
Jackson Mountain company team is very helpful in providing the required communications. Read more
Thank you for taking the time to review your recent stay at Big Bear Lodge. We are happy to hear that you had a nice trip. Many homes in the area do have well water which, for guests with public water service at home, it can smell odd. But, rest assured, it is safe to use and drink. We appreciate your kind words and hope to see you again soon!

We enjoyed the game room, hot tub, and lounging on the decks watching the sunsets and listening to nature. Jackson Mountain homes had all the amenities of a luxury resort with a friendly and helpful staff. A great location provides spectacular views of the Smoky Mountains and the surrounding wildlife. We had a memorable trip and are ready to return to Tennessee!
Worth every penny

We rented this property for my father-in-law's 85th birthday. We had 15 family members from 8 to 85 and there was plenty of room and plenty to do for all. We picked this property specifically for the size and being pet friendly(my father-in-laws little dog).
Pros: It was spacious (really spacious), clean and beautifully decorated. The beds were amazing... I slept so well. The view is breathtaking. With a group size like we had... Two Fridges! Plenty of cookware, glasses, plates, etc. I don't believe we needed anything else. The game room games were a big hit and so was the hot tub. Very nice gas grill and thank heavens for the washer and dryer. We felt right at home!
Cons: As first, I thought that it was petty in some of the other reviews about the shower curtains so I have to apologize...you were so right! They constantly fall down and when you hook it back two more fall off...makes you crazy! We were very tempted to buy proper curtain rings. My only other thing is the drive way is narrow and we found it difficult to get 4 cars in and out. We left it to the expert drivers in our group.
Do keep in mind though that with a view like this (on top of a mountain) you will have to contend with mountain roads (not a con just a heads up).
All-in-All it was worth every penny and I would not hesitate to reserve it again. Read more
Thank you for taking the time to review your recent stay at Big Bear Lodge. We are glad that you enjoyed your stay and apologize for any problem you experienced. Best cabin we've stayed at in six years!

A group of about 12 of us comes every year - for six years or more and this is by far the best cabin. The layout was perfect. We are all adults - no kids allowed - and want to spend most of our time in the kitchen and dining/living room area and this big kitchen and open layout was perfect. Plus, we all like real beds these days! Location was great - not too far in the hills. We had a water issue and the office sent someone right away and they took care of it. We'll book it again!

we celebrated my mom's 85th birthday with 26 family members from aged 18 months to 85 years. the accommodations were great for the number of people. the kids enjoyed the the game room, the hot tub was a hit and there was plenty of room in the great room for family time. we had an issue with the a/c and maintenance was sent immediately. we also had a very windy, rainy evening and water came in around a couple of windows. maintenance again came right away and supplied us with more towels. the office staff was very pleasant to work with, plenty of parking, lots of fun.
Had a great time

This is a great cabin, just needed a little attention. The dishwasher did not work, so the dishes had been put up dirty. As we cook a lot of meals while we were there, we had to hand wash everything. The gas grill would not get over 200-250 degrees, and one toilet seat was broken. After these repairs have been made I would highly recommend this cabin to anyone. It is layed out to where everyone had their own space and bathroom. The kids loved the game room and hot tub. We had a wonderful time and will definatly go back. In Jmh's defense..we did not call these problems in, we were too settled in to move to another cabin and it would have been too late to cook for them to have brought another grill for us. The staff at Jmh's is wonderful. They are all so friendly and helpful. They will go out of their way to help you. We had a Wonderul time and as I said..we will go back and stay with Jmh's!! Read more

Weather was fantastic, place was very accommodating and had lots of amenities that made the whole experience worthwhile. We did the late check-in which was a pain because the code wasn't working. But other than that, it was smooth sailing and a lot of fun.
A Great Experience!!

I rented this cabin for 30 of my closest friends during the peak season. This was by far the best cabin we've rented from JMH. I look forward to renting the same cabin next year.
No one was disappointed!

We had 17 (and our dog) from our extended family at Big Bear Lodge for a birthday party. We came from 5 different states. We had seniors, middleaged couples, young couples, teenagers, young children and a two year old. Everyone had a great time. Plenty of room! The kitchen worked well but was a little tight. There are plenty of dishes and glasses. The dishwasher could hardly keep up. See my Tip on dining space. I wouldn't recommend the sofa sleepers for full grown teens or adults. Not much cushion at all. There was no problem parking 6 cars in the drive. Everyone remarked about the views, the spaciousness, and all were happy and impressed. Jmh staff was great throughout the process and responded to our need for a hand mixer in short order. I would definitely book with them again.
Great View and a great stay at Big Bear Lodge

We had an amazing time at Big Bear Lodge. The idea of renting a home in the mountains is a great idea especially with big families. The space was great and the large dinning room table was perfect! We loved sitting on the deck and looking out at the beautiful view!
Best vacation experience in a long time.

Everything you need

Three generations including kids from toddler to teenagers spent a week in this lovely home. There was plenty of room for everyone.
A couple of standout items were the comfort of the bedding and the kitchen equipment and supplies. The kitchen had everything we needed to prepare and serve all of our meals including plenty of steak knives and a good supply of pots and pans (we could have used a couple of muffin tins).
A bear walked across the driveway while we were having dinner one evening. There couldn't have possibly been better timing for that.
