Great cabin for a family or Freinds gathering! Lots of room and very nice place. Would definitely stay here again. Only thing is water pressure to some bathrooms and the bugs in basement bathrooms. But overall a great place and close to Gatlinburg.

The home size was great plenty of room for the family and kids to enjoy. Pack towels or bring laundry soap to wash towels. We did not receive any guestservice. Was not use to the mountain parking on hill, many people in our family were afraid there car would roll down the hill. The gentlement was doin the parking of all the cars in our party. Otherwise excellent home will definitely return and stay longer. Nothing bad to say about smokey mountain lodge

We celebrated my 30th birthday with 15 friends and had a great time! The location is perfect if you want to be close to downtown yet have the cabin/chalet feel.

My family and I really enjoyed our stay in the Smokey Mountain Lodge. There were 16 of us including three children. The cabin was beautiful. Each room was decorated nicely. It was very clean in general when we arrived. I personally didn't get a close look at each bathroom but in the one I used there was like hair or dust along the edges of the floor. That's really the only thing I noticed. The towels provided were tiny, like bath mat size. All that aside the cabin is great for staying in and just spending time together, but the location is excellent for exploring Gatlinburg as well. The description for the cabin said it is only a 15 minute walk to downtown. While that may be true, it should be mentioned it's mostly uphill (a steep hill) back to the cabin. It is true that we were in the mountains but it shouldn't be advertised that the walk to town is just so simple. The game room in the lower level was great for everyone. However, the air hockey table was not working. :( That was disappointing. My only other complaint is parking. We had people coming in from all over with 6 cars total. There is only space to park 4 vehicles unless you park in the grass by the trash cans. I don't suppose much can be done to change that but you may want to make it known so people can plan for it. Over all everyone enjoyed staying in the cabin. It was fun and relaxing and we would come back again. Thank you!!

Nice house for our family reunion vacation, but hard to find

Came here in July for a family reunion. The road this house is situated on is so hard to find, my husband and I drove past it about 4 times, and when my sister arrived late at night, we actually had to walk down to direct her from the main road because she drove by so many times and was close to tears. Basically it's a hairpin turn and you can't even really see the street sign from the main road. Once you get there, you go up a steep hill and there's really no indication as to where the house is (you can go off to the right and up, or straight, or up higher). Clearer directions would be great.
Besides the hard to find street, the house itself was great. It's huge, and the pictures are accurate. Gameroom was great for our large family group, we had all 7 bedrooms plus the sofa occupied, but it never felt cramped. Very clean, and nice views from the balcony. Big kitchen table, and an island with stools helped since there were too many of us to all sit at the table for meals. The huge vaulted ceiling and windows is certainly dramatic and gorgeous, but there are no shades or anything to block the sun, which can be a bit of an issue if you want to watch tv (or sleep late on the couch).
The location is within walking distance to downtown Gatlinburg (about 15 min) but in the summer heat this walk isn't exactly fun, especially with the steep hill up to the house. Overall it was a very nice house, but I wouldn't stay here again (then again I wouldn't go to Gatlinburg again, but it's just not my cup of tea).Response from American Patriot Getaways - 11/18/2011

Thanks so much for submitting a response. I glad you loved the cabin. Navagating in the mountains can be a little tricky. While this property is close to the downtown area, with beautiful views, I personally wouldn't recommend the walk. It's a little too steep and certainly a challenge in the summer heat. I'm sorry you don't think you'll be returning to our area. Should you change you mind, I hope you'll give American Patriot Getaways a call and let us meet your lodging needs.
