Bear Necessities is a very nice cabin, except for the noises...it sounds like someone is always on the roof...
Nice decor and comfortable, hot tub was nice especially when the rain was falling and the mist was blowing on us.
Easy to get to... good parking...Only one complaint and
that is The girl that checked us in the last two times staying with Jackson mtn homes is not at all friendly...
Would stay at this cabin again...!!!Response from Jackson Mountain Homes - 05/08/2013

Thank you for taking the time to review your most recent stay with us. We are happy to hear that you enjoyed Bear Necessities! With all the trees surrounding the cabin, and the weather, the noises could have been anything from squirrels scurry around on the roof to pine cones or acorns falling from the trees. I'm sure it was a little disconcerting and hope that it didn't disturb your stay.
We are so very sorry to hear that you encountered an unfriendly girl at check-in. We certainly want each of our guests to receive a friendly welcome. We always strive to provide the best accommodations and vacation experience. If we are ever lacking in any area, we will always use the experience as an opportunity for improvement.
We love having you as our guests and look forward to seeing you again soon! -

We went in early March, and it was wonderful. Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge were not overcrowded. Out cabin was perfect for the chilling weather with the fireplace and hot tub. All in all a great relaxing vacation and would go back again.

Property was as advertised - cozy and convenient to Gatlinburg/GSM. Very flexible cabin with good outdoor seating and outdoor grill. Easy to find. High speed Internet saved us time. Great hot tub and indoor whirlpool. Alarm system for security. Only downside was south-facing bedroom window that did not have blinds - good for early risers, otherwise quite bright!

Ironton, OhNo Worries with this Cabin! Bear Necessities is Perfect!

Everything you read on the website and all the pictures you view are absolutely correct. Nothing deceitful, what you see is what you get! You walk in and it smells and looks as if you were the only one to have stayed there. This company is so clean that the hot tub is cleaned after every stay so you don't have to worry about anything! I had the most relaxing weekend ever and thank you so much to Jackson Mountain Homes! You never really know what your getting into when you travel for vacation, and they excelled so highly that i couldn't imaging going back without reserving lodging through them! We couldn't check in until after business hours, and the package they left gave precise directions along with toms of information on the towns and even completed the package with doggie treats for our dog! Little details matter, and they excelled!

Best cabin for bear sightings. Have rented cabins for many many years and this was the best for bears. They came by every day. Cabin is listed as one bedroom, however, upstairs is a fully functional sleeping area. Cabin was cozy, clean and comfortable. Location is between Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge, which was great. The only thing that would be an issue if we would have had 2 cars. Parking was very minimal and backing out with other cabins being so close, it was difficult to maneuver our car out of parking space. Plus the roof creeks constantly which is a little unnerving especially the first day until we got used to the noises. Other than that the cabin was great.

The cabin was great. The only complaint we had was that the door did not have a dead bolt on the inside, so our two year old managed to get out the door three times. (Which was very nerve ending when the third morning there was a bear on our porch!) We finally proped a chair under the handle so he couldnt get out any more. Other than that every thing was great. The view was spectacular! It was perfect size for having kids!

We enjoyed this stay very much. When making the reservations and checking in the experience was outstanding. The chalet was very nice and we got to see a Mama Bear and 3 cubs lounge around outside the chalet for about 15 to 20 minutes. What a show!

Jackson Mountain Homes was wonderful to work with, very friendly and offered the best specials anywhere!! Cabin was so homey and beautifully decorated! My only disappointment was that it wasn't as secluded as I thought. Neighborhood feel with three other cabins right next door.
