      Nice but a little unsettling...

Left on 02/28/2013 for a stay in February 2013

I booked this trip because it was a special rate for a "deluxe" cabin and was a nice weekend excursion. While the distance from Pigeon Forge & Gatlinburg was great, I did not like the drive to the cabin. We drove our minivan there, and I have to say I was a little afraid of the roads. You have to drive on a dark back road for a mile, then drive another 2 miles on curvy, hilly, steep back roads. Lots of blind curves and steep inclines, a little scary for me being from FL, not used to that kind of driving. It was farther off the main path than I had anticipated. I don't recommend trying to find it at night or in winter weather. A sign even mentions that snow chains and 4 wheel drive are recommended. The cabin itself is at the bottom of a steep hill and the driveway is a bit ridiculous. While we could get in and out, it is not great. The cabin itself was very clean, I was really pleasantly surprised. It is a small cabin but pretty much what I expected. Nice gas fireplace, the game room loft was in great shape. One thing - the couches are a wreck. Even for a rental they were in horrible shape. Need to be trashed or recovered. The kitchen is pretty well stocked with pots/pans, silverware, plates, cups, etc. The jets in the jacuzzi tub did not work. We did not try the hot-tub. Yes, railings were little shaky but I wasn't worried about my kids falling through, it wasn't that bad. It has a metal roof that is very loud when it rains, it kept us up one night. Not to mention the animal sounds we heard above us. Not sure if there was something living in the walls or attic (it doesn't appear to have an attic) but we definitely heard some scurrying back and forth (as well as other strange noises). Sofa beds are naturally uncomfortable so we brought an air mattress that fit in the living room. The view was nice but it was also winter so the trees were bare and didn't block the view - might be a different story in the summer. Bottom line - I felt a little unsettled in this cabin for some reason, can't quite explain it. I would rent from aPG again but I would try a different cabin.

      Just okay...

Left on 12/05/2012 for a stay in October 2012

The cabin is almost impossible to find, don't listen to them when they say Gps' don't work because that is the only thing that got us to the cabin. The cabin is fairly small, smaller than I expected. The king bed is extremely uncomfortable and the pullout sofa is pitiful, so bad that ever our 4 year old complained about it hurting his back. The railing for the stairway inside is very loose and very unsafe, as well as the railing on both back decks. The hot tub leaks, stinks, and was dirty so we didn't even get to enjoy it. The inside jacuzzi is nice when it works. I would have been nice if they had put instructions on the Xbox, we tried several times to play my son movies before bed and never could get it to work. The couch and loveseat are extremely worn and peeling everywhere. Also, the driveway is awful, do not dare take a car to this place and try to park right in front of the cabin, you'll never get out of the parking spot. Other than being very convenient and affordable, we were not impressed at all and will not be staying with aPG again.

      Jessica,

I am sorry you didn't like the cabin '2 Lovin' Bears'. It is a popular cabin and typically gets great reviews. Mountain roads can be challenging but to get great views and be in the mountains, you have to travel the roads to get there. I regret that you weren't happy with the cabin you chose but hope you will give us another opportunity to meet your lodging when you visit our area again.

      25th anniversary Weekend Getaway

Left on 11/25/2012 for a stay in October 2012

I looked all over online looking for "the cabin" for a weekend getaway for our 25th wedding anniversary with no luck. We contacted aPG late in the season at the suggestion of friends hoping to find something for the exact dates we needed that was also pet friendly. Our anniversary just so happens to fall right smack in the middle of the autumn color peak. Apg found 2 Lovin' Bears available and had me look online while talking to them. It looked to be exactly what we were looking for!! We were not familiar with the area and arrived late in the evening and the directions aPG provided led us right to this little gem. Inside we explored all that this cabin had to offer and was impressed with the cleanliness, decoration, layout and charm. The view from the upper deck provided us with a preview of the autumn color of the mountains. The location was great - being midpoint between Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg. Cabin has a washer/dryer, offset bedroom (layout made it look like open space but it was closed), gas fireplace, gameroom in the loft, jacuzzi bathtub in the bedroom, and a hottub on the lower outside deck. We fumbled a little with the key system, but after figuring it out, we were pros. This was a great find and just the right amount of charm to make our anniversary special. We so liked aPG and this find, that we recommended to our extended family to all rent a larger cabin next year as a family retreat! Thanks for making our anniversary special.

Two Lovin' Bears is very clean and well equiped for a wonderful stay. The game room is loaded for fun.The Hot Tub is terrific. This cabin has a good view of the mountains. Best of all was the wildlife. We saw many Wild Turkeys in the back yard, a racoon (tried to steal a steak from the grill) and a Black Bear paid a visit to our porch. we recommend this cabin to all.

      Awesome view!

Left on 07/05/2012 for a stay in May 2012

My husband and I love vacationing in the Pigeon Forge/Gatilinburg area and have done so on many occasions and this cabin was an excellent choice! The game room upstairs had us laughing and playing pool, air hockey and what we deemed "mini-shuffleboard" for hours. The view from the top deck was absolutely awesome, it was a great place to drink coffee in the morning. The only way to improve this cabin would be to get a little nicer couch and loveseat as they are currently leather and extremely worn and to move the tv from above the mantel as it was awkard and uncomfortable to be sitting on the couch looking up at it.

Left on 07/02/2012 for a stay in May 2012

i was on my honeymoon my husband and i stayed 4 nights in may 2012. the cabin is beautiful. however the cabin was not clean. there was hair and dust all over floors and it was piled up in all corners. the toilet was clogged once a day. i know we were in the middle of the woods, but there were bugs all in the cabin. we killed many everyday. the kitchen and the linens were clean. i was just dissappointed , after we spend so much money to stay there.

Cute Cabin, but.. Not so private & a little cramped

Left on 12/14/2011 for a stay in November 2011

This was a cute cabin, but a pretty decent drive from the entrance. I was expecting a little more privacy with this cabin being so far up the hill, but was surprised when we walked out on the back deck and were within talking distance from the cabin next to us. I may be a little critical just because we have stayed in several of sky harbor's cabins and this wasn't a favorite. But, overall it was nice and clean. Having both a covered deck & uncovered is a big plus. The kitchen/dining area is a little cramped. But, was not really an issue since it was just my husband, daughter & I. The game area in the loft was nice though we were a little worried about how wobbly the railing was, having our 5 year old nearby. We have always had good experiences staying with Patriot Getaways and though this was not a favorite it was still a great time.

      view unacceptable

Left on 10/06/2011 for a stay in July 2010

Approximately, 12 plus mature trees blocked the view. We left one day earlier than planned, upset because of the lousy view. My survey last year stated the same. Online stated great view - you couldn't see the sunset because of the mature trees.

All our cabins are privately owned and I will pass along your comments to the owner of the cabin. Again, I'm sorry we didn't respond last year, but we are this year.
