Narrows, VAGreat house, seamless rental, overall very good deal
Left on 01/31/2013 for a stay in November 2012
We rented Big Bear Falls for a family vacation. I was very surprised how seamless the whole trip went. We didn't have to stop by any rental offices or anything like that.
The drive to the cabin was very interesting. Winding mountain roads led from the main highway to the cabin and its "Oh-my-God-is-that-steep" driveway. We actually got out at the top and looked to see where the driveway was because you couldn't see it from inside the car.
Follow their directions!! Gps will try to send you on roads that do not exist.
The house was beautiful inside and out. There is a long steep stairway leading to the front porch, but we knew that. We had to replace the batteries in the remotes (bummer). Comfy hot tub. The gas fireplace is open to the living room on one side and the bedroom on the other and you can see from one room into the other.
Overall, we were very pleased with the cabin and will likely stay there again. -

Hixson, TennesseeVery disappointing
Left on 11/08/2012 for a stay in November 2012
We have use this group before and been very please but this time was a disaster!! We had a cabin selected and the adviser told us we really need to get another one that was a much better deal and much nicer. We trusted her and ended up with a cabin that was 1. down in a whole with no view of the mountains, 2. Had 3 levels of steps to get up to the back and front, just get in the front door (and we had 2 people in our party with knee and foot problems. 3. The road in was a sharp hairpin turn going straight up and back down that we had to get out an push the car to make it out because of all the leaves on the ground with front wheel drive. Very dangerous and scary. None of these things were revealed from this person. Unlike with other bookings when we were given great information that was very helpful. The table was screwed down in several places so we could not take the leaf out of it. That does not sound like a big deal except we are card players. Not a fun place to stay. The TV in the main room was hooked up to a fancy surround system that took 4 remotes to operate. Most people could not have worked such a complicated system. The place was nice, clean and very pretty inside but I could have stayed home and looked at a drive way or wooded ground out my back porch. Very disappointing even half off! Sooo not worth it.

Cassandra,
I am so sorry that you didn't like Big Bear Falls. It is a wonderful cabin and most people LOVE it. I was unable to find the recording of the call when you booked your cabin to see why the reservationists suggested this cabin to someone who had knee problems. The pictures of the cabin clearly show the steps and the floor plan for the cabin show the floors.
Typically a reservationists would only suggest a different cabin if the caller didn't like the price of the cabin they picked out. In that case, they would have offered an alternative. This cabin is a 50% off property and a great value.
I would also like to know if you asked for a cabin with a mountain view. Not all cabins have mountain views.
Again, I'm sorry that you didn't like the cabin and I apologize if you thought you were mislead. That certainly wasn't our intention at all. -

Left on 10/16/2012 for a stay in September 2012
We stayed 4 days and 3 nights! The cabin was very clean and a pleasure to stay in! I would stay at Big Bear Falls again for sure. The only thing I would advise to others would be all the steps, obviously you can see them in the picture, but going up and own will wear you out haha. Another thing is the ride to the cabin, kinda scary the first couple of times, but once you get use to it, it's a breeze!

We stayed May 4th thru the 7th and our stay was just perfect! The cabin was clean and ac already going for us when we arrived. Love the layout of the cabin and how it was tucked up in its own little corner for a little more privacy. Loved the location as well being right in between Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge, it was quick trip in and out. The one thing I liked the least were the stairs. They were covered in moss but had little strips for traction on them. It rained the first morning we were there my fiance slipped and fell down all of them. Luckily he was ok but there should have at least been some warning they would be slippery when wet. And must have locking lids for the garbage cans. We had a furry visitor come watch us on the porch every evening.

SW FloridaRomance, Relaxation & Rest
Left on 04/26/2012 for a stay in March 2012
I'm so sorry for the delay in my review. Life is back to hectic since our vacation in March 2012. We drove from South Florida & we arrived in the dark. It was such a nice surprise to drive up to a well lit cabin. Not only on the outside but, on the inside. When we walked inside there was soft music playing...aaahhh. We stayed for 5 nights and truly stayed in the cabin just relaxing for 3 days. We didn't use the hot tub or Jacuzzi but, had a great time playing pool. The ease from booking the cabin through locking up & putting key in lock box...you can't get easier or more stress free. Customer service very nice, helpful & professional...thank you. The drive is a moderate to easy climb. However, the last, very short road to driveway is at a 45 degree angle and downhill. At night it looks scary but, once driven a couple times it's not scary at all. We drove a Nissan Rouge with no 4 wheel drive...it did great. The cabin is in a little "holler" as I would call it. Even though there is a cabin beside it there was no one staying there & very private. Even if it was booked while we were there it would have been fine. We suggest to add some photos of the bathrooms (adorable & roomy) & 360 pics of view. We loved it. Patriot Getaways & this cabin will be bragged about to everyone we know. We would be more than happy to stay in this sweet cabin again. Thank you!

Big Bear Falls is all of those things and we are so happy you were able to enjoy the cabin and amenities. The location of the cabin being in Sky Harbor is very convenient so it does help to be able to go to town in a short time. Thank you for staying with American Patriot Getaways, we look forward to having you stay with us again.

My husband and I have 2 little boys and have been together over 7 years. We have never taken a vacation without our children and we wanted to go with the best cabin rental agency to guarantee our long awaited vacation would be a success. Patriot Getaways gave us a wonderful cabin experience. We arrived on a snowy dark night and when we pulled up the lights automatically lit up outside. Once we entered the cabin the lights were lit, music was playing, and it was warm throughout the cabin. Everything worked properly. The only things I would recommend is putting some new strips on the stairs leading up to the cabin so it is not so slick trying to go up/down on rainy or snowy days. Also if you are coming in winter the cabin is located in a deep dip so make sure your in a proper vehicle.

Big Bear Falls was a great cabin, 2br 2bath with plenty of room for me/wife/2y/o son. Beds were comfortable and for guys who enjoy football, they had the Sunday Ticket for the NFL. The only problems about the cabin were the steps we had to climb to get up in the cabins need to be repaired due to them being shaking and worn down. The other is the steep incline that you have to go up and down to get the cabin. I could forsee this being a major problems during bad weather and snow if you don't have a 4 wheel drive. Also, check the pigeon forge calenders before you go in september if you're not a big car show person. Horrible, Horrible Traffic during that weekend.
