i stayed in this cabin recently and upon arrival found that the hardwood floors were all scratched and damaged, the couch was dirty and torn the ouside porches have broken support boards keeping my son from going out on them , the bottom dvd player did not work and it just looked bad for the money i was charged. i paid 700 for three nights which i thought was to much for the shape this cabin was in. i seen it on the internet and it looked real nice but that is not the case. i called manegemont but they would not help me. i feel that they should have put me in a better cabin or refund some money for the bad way it looked. when you pay that much money you expect it to be nice.

The cabin was beautiful and clean. The view was great, and it was during a wonderful time of year being in the fall. However, we experienced problems with hot water, in that we did not have it on two of the days we stayed. The first time was fixed in a timely manner, but the second time ruined most of the day, because we had to wait forever to have a maintenance man show up and take care of the problem.
It was a great location, and there is a lot to do in the area. The staff was not as friendly as I thought they should have been, but maybe we expected too much. I would have been satisfied going to a nearby unoccuppied cabin for a quick shower, but not a 5 or 6 hour wait for a maintenance man. -

We loved the Dear Season cabin. It had a lot of room to move around and 3 decks to pick from when enjoying the scenery. Some key issues:
1. No dining room table to eat as a group.
2. Downstairs entertainment center has surround sound when watching TV which is awesome but I had to re-wire the receiver to allow Surround sound. Hdmi must come from the cable box to the reciever to enable digital audio surround sound. Then an Hdmi cable must go to the TV. I used input 1 on the reciever and the tv to accomplish surround sound. All cables were available. Wonderful option. Enjoyed the big screen.
3. Pool table is not functional. We don't play usually but checked it out. Bad cue sticks and missing a few balls. No big deal for us in this case.
These are all minor issues that a few work arounds were done to enjoy the cabin. It was just wonderful. Highly recommend. -

I have stayed in several rental properties and this was by far the hardest to get to. The view was terrible. The accomadations were clean and nice but not as good as most I have stayed at.

We would have liked to hear more about the road leading us to the cabin, that was an adventure haha! It was very windy with sharp corners and was very narrow. That would be a good thing to know prior to staying there, but the cabin was worth it. Also I wished there was updated pictures for the views of the cabin! The pics online showed a view of the mountains and when we got there the trees we're all grown in so there was really no view at all. All in all the cabin was beautiful and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay! We would definitely stay again :)

This getaway was just what we needed to relax and focus on each other. My husband and I left behind stressful jobs and 3 toddlers to enjoy a few days in peace! Deer Season had all the amenities we wanted to relax, play games, and enjoy each other's company. The views and location were perfect for us!

Thank you for sharing your experience with us, it sounds like you really needed this getaway. Which parents of 3 toddlers, deserves an award for all the hard work that comes with that, but I am sure it is very rewarding as well. American Patriot Getaways would love to have you stay with us again! Bring the whole family.

Galena, OhioCelebrating our 30th wedding anniversary!
Left on 10/28/2011 for a stay in September 2011
My husband and I spent our wedding honeymoon in Gatlinburg 30 years ago and wanted to go back for our anniversary this years since it was a milestone year! We searched many different sites before deciding on the house "Dear Season". The house was very cozy and way up on a mountain like I was looking for. It had many extras including the game room downstairs and the hot tub outside. It was secluded and nice and quiet like we were hoping for. We did cook breakfast in the kitchen two mornings. The kitchen supplies were sufficient, not as nice as what I use at home, but they worked. We enjoyed the multi-level decks. I sat in the sun in the mornings on the top level and in the evenings on the main level. The house was bigger than the two of us needed, but liked the fact that the master bedroom was on the main floor. I would highly recommend this house. You can tell it is well cared for.

Our trip was very relaxing. The cabin was beautifully decorated. The stairs going down to the lower lever are extremely steep so if bringing children bring a gate my 2 and 5 yr old took one look and backed away.Other than that great stay. I'd stay here again.

My wife and I have stayed at a number of different places for our vacations but this was the best place yet. The cabin was clean, comfortable, quiet and yet close to all the right places. The only problem we had was that the stay was way to short.
