IndianaAmazing View - Treacherous Climb
Left on 05/07/2013 for a stay in March 2013
The view is spectacular. Driving up this mountain though in our minivan was questionable at best. I thought my transmission might give out at any minute. The house is definitely dated and I think that is why it is always 50% off. It won't have the polish you'll find with the more expensive units, but if you are on a tight budget and need a place to stay - this worked great for us. They definitely need to redo the drywall in one of the upper bathrooms, paint in a few spots and rip out the old carpet in the lower level. We didn't have the money to afford a nice unit, so this worked and my family dealt with the shortcomings. If you take the 'non-recommended' back way out of here, it is a hop, skip, and jump to the Gatlinburg strip. Our GPS worked the whole time we were up there and it is a 3-4 year old Garmin.

Went with a group of twelve, we had a great trip! The view from the cabin is breath taking! Rooms were cozy and clean, plenty of kitchen supplies. Definitely recommend Perfection if you dont mind being close to other resort homes. Directions were a little confusing, but each cabin has a sign. Very nice for a group!

The vacation we spent in a filthy house
Left on 09/08/2012 for a stay in August 2012
This house would have met the needs of our family perfectly (six adults and six children) except for the filth. We spent three hours wiping down cabinets, walls and woodwork to feel comfortable about spending time there especially with small children. There was a condom wrapper on the bedside table in one room and what appeared to be vomit beneath one bed. The carpets were visibly stained and dirty. Toothpaste was splattered on the bathroom walls and cabinets. Even after cleaning we were very uncomfortable because there was much we couldn't do. We expect to have some insects considering the area, however, we had three scorpions in the house during our stay. A drain pipe beneath the deck was disconnected so when the shower was used it drained beneath the deck and down the hill. The dryer worked sporadically until the last day when it quit heating completely so we had to hang laundry on the deck and over furniture. The view was spectacular and our stay could have been great but was totally tainted by the extreme lack of cleanliness and maintenance. Unfortunately we will always remember this as the vacation we spent in a filthy house.

Cincinnati, OHWe had a good time
Left on 09/04/2012 for a stay in August 2012
This cabin had a few flaws. The comforter in one of the bedrooms had burn holes in it, and there were some black stains on the wall like there had been a fire. Also, there were only 3 forks in the whole house. That made meals difficult, but we managed. There was a racoon that got into the garbage every night. Overall, despite these problems, the house was a decent value and we had a good time and it had one of the best views I have seen.

I am not one to write reviews, but feel I should on this one!
The good!. Views. They are truly awesome. The layout of the cabin worked well with small kids. No stairs to worry about like most of these rentals have. The beds slept well, and the over all feel was pleasant.
The bad! We rented this cabin with the understanding that it was 50% off of its normal rental price of $2400 ish. Wow! I got suckered! We usually rent a vacation home once to twice a year. This house was on par with 50% off at the peak season. The floors were so dirty that we wore our shoes after the first night. The walls and carpets are badly soiled. The rooms had been swept, but they must have swept everything under the beds. The front bedroom has what looks like an apple from last year still going through decomposition. Each bathtub had a jacuzzi feature, but I couldn't get past the brown grime and hair left in the jets. The out door hot tub was nice until I made the mistake of turning the jets off. That's when I realized I was floating in a ton of little white flakes. I assume that was white water mold...I hope! The furniture is mostly worn slam out. The internet doesn't work and the a/C stopped as well. The agency was quick to get those issues taken care of though.
The location is far from easy to reach. The roads are confusing and take a good memory to navigate unless you want to use your directions every time you leave.
If the owner would update the interior, paint the walls, replace the carpets, pressure wash the decks, and update the furniture thsi would be a prime rental that I would be glad to return to.
To sum it up...picture a high traffic living space in a secluded mountain scene. They don't mix. Oh... They have etched on every TV in the house real big! "this TV Stolin from the view". I guess they have people trying to get some of their money back from time to time! -

As far as the cabin taht we stayed in, it had an amazing view! I couldnt have asked for a better view but thats the only thing nice I have to say about the so called "Perfection". When we got there, the outside of the cabin was pretty dirty. The cabin has these bushes by the front door entrance that was swarming with bees and I am allergic so I had to keep using the back entrance. The cabin was ment to sleep 12 and it only had 6 forks total! The kitchen table fell apart when we moved it away from the door, none of the fireplaces worked when we got there. There was a dart board with nothing but broken darts so you couldnt play. The cabin was so crooked that when you tried to play pool, all the balls rolled to one side of the table. The couches were in bad shape. There was 10 remotes for one TV and it got confusing. The internet did not work. I was very disappointed wit this cabin considering it was supposed to be a delux cabin. The walls were dirty. Whom ever owns this cabin really needs to give it some TLC! But I will not ever be staying there or recommend it to anyone!

Dayton, OHExcellent View/Mediocre accommodations
Left on 03/28/2012 for a stay in February 2012
We arrived in town right around check-in time and had no problem using the automated service to get our check-in numbers. We found the cabin easily because it was still light out but it would be more difficult to do in the dark. There are plenty of written warnings that GPS doesn't work in the mountains, and it may not in some areas, but we had no problem using it to find our way to/from this cabin.
The cabin was relatively clean, spacious and has an excellent view of the mountains. There was more than enough room for our small family and we mostly enjoyed our stay. I must commend Patriot for getting us a mobile hot spot asap once I determined the satellite Internet connection didn't work (even though the house Wi-Fi router was up and working). The hot tub worked very well and we enjoyed the cool nights with a good soak.
That being said I do have a few complaints. Everything seemed a little too well worn. The game room is awesome but the pool cues were all worn out, the pinball flippers stuck so it was frustrating to play. There was a maddening array of remotes that randomly worked on TVs/satellite/DVD/etc. A word of caution, the dryer does not get hot, or even warm, so everything was tumbled for a while and then hung to dry. Also this place could use a coat of paint inside in a major way! I understand the cabin is probably well used by some of the groups staying there but when white walls are anything but white it's time for a paint job. I won't go into any great detail on the pair of dirty panties that greeted us outside the lower level door other than to say you would think the cleaning crew could spot hot pink undergarments:) This stuff is kind of nitpicky and overall it's an enjoyable place to stay...$500-1000 worth of repairs and it would be an awesome place to stay! -

Cabin was just good, not great. Needs a makeover inside but what it lacked on interior, it made up for in the view. The view from the caon was absolute perfection!!! We stayed in late October beginning of November and it started to snow at high elevations and the mountains looked beautiful. The kids had a wonderful time. We are coming back again this year but trying a different cabin (hopefully another different but beautiful view) but still renting from american Patriot Getaways as they have always done a great job with us!

Left on 09/28/2011 for a stay in February 2011
The views are incredible but the cabin was not. We had too many problems to rate this vacation rental as anything above "Average." We had to call for svc a couple times, and in fairness the front desk personnel was very courteous and help came when needed. But the cabin itself wasn't clean (a broken lightbulb on the floor welcomed us), needed attn/updating and was lacking in ways to truly make our experience relaxing. If they bump up their cleaning svc (4 adults, 1 child sneezing all the time), general household equipment (like a broom would've been nice or a vacuum since there's a rug in the kitchen; also we awoke to raccoons having knocked over our trash every stinking morning) and fix their fireplaces, I'd recommend this cabin w/o hesitation.

The cabin was wonderful except for the air conditioning not working and it taking two days to be fixed.I would recommend this cabin to anyone but you need to have service done when needed.I had my children and grand daughter along with my wife there and it was uncomfortable upstairs without air.The view and amenities at the cabin were excellent and we plan on going back next year.
