This place is amazing... The road up can be a bit scary, but once you do it a couple of times you are a pro... I loved this place and the view literally was something to behold... And I made friends with a racoon who came every night on the porch... If you see him, his name is officially Buddy!

Our reservation and arrival went off without a hitch. This cabin was truly situated on the very top of the mountain, however still convenient to both Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge. It was immaculate and so very comfortable. We enjoyed fantastic views from both the top and bottom deck. The peace and quiet was just what we needed for a wonderful long weekend!! Will definitely book with american Patriot Getaways again soon!

My wife and I had been to Pigeon Forge on several occasions, but this by far was the Greatest so far thanks to the Wonderful views we had from our beautiful cabin. Not only did we enjoy the starry nites from the cabin but we were also visited by a black bear twice, on our first morning and the morning of our departure, and the resident raccoon for breakfast one morning. Can't wait to visit again real soon. Thanks for the great vacation.

We loved the cabin!!! Very clean,and neat.My only problem was the driveway!!!Let me tell you it's true when they say steep.Never again will we stay in this cabin!!!We will get a cabin that is easier to get to.

Enjoyed the cabin. The view was awesome.
The jaccuzzi would not hold water so wife missed out on the a nice jaccuzi bath. I called management about the jaccuzi problem and they messed up and sent a carpet cleaning contractor. The direction provided by the management are not correct and it caused us some problems. Luckily I had map quest directions with me that were dead on. -

we had a wonderful stay at a good cabin with a reasonable cost we have stayed better places but we were really happy with the whole week long stay the only problem we had was wasps there was so many making nests in our cabin my wife could not go outside

We were looking for a cabin with all the amenities with a view of the landscape. The instant we walked through the door, we were in awe of all this cabin had to offer. It was clean, spacious, and had the "cabin in the woods" feel that we were looking for. Just the two of us stayed, however since each bedroom & full bath are separate floors, it offers plenty of space and privacy if another couple or children are coming along.
The location was wonderful - minutes from Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg and close to the trailheads for our hikes. The drive way is very difficult to pull in/out of (you must three-point turn to pull in due to the steep/narrow roadway and incline of the driveway itself). Also, the gas fireplace in the bedroom was out of order. We didn't realize how closely the cabins sit to each other, however once the trees bloom, I'd imagine it offers more privacy.
We cannot wait to come back to this cabin! -

The View! The name really say it all in this case! Although the initial drive was terrifying to say the least. But at the same expense it was so very worth every penny spent! Love this cabin and will come back every year to this particular one!

Once a year for the last 6 years my wife and I have rented a cabin from Patriot Getaways for our wedding anniversary. We have looked at The View for a few years and it had always been reserved until this year. We were very excited to be able to rent the view for our annual getaway. When we arrived we like the cabin overall and it does have a great view. But we started to notice importan things weren't in proper workinh order. The fire place was not working and buy reading the cabin's journal had not worked in some time. A fire place is very important to my wife. Second we decided to have a few drinks in the hot tub. When we opened the cover there was a very foul odor coming from the hot tub. We called the front desk and was told it was sulfer gas. If we had known the hot tub smelled like sulfer gas we would not had rented the cabin. The hot tub is very important to me. To set and have a few drinks and look out on the view would have been great. Some people complained about the road up to the cabin but with my truck we hasd no problem. We had issues with the cabin itself. The cabins need to be inspected and everything in working order if your going to put them on the internet and want people to rent them. We rented the cabin with the idea of everything working properly, and it wasn't.

Our stay at "The View" was simply incredible! From the beautiful view during the day to overlooking the city lights of Gatlinburg at night, it was simply the best!
The leaves were in full bloom and the color schemes throughout the woods was absolutely breath-taking...
The place was in perfect condition and very very clean! Lord willing, we will try and make it back again next year! I will say that anyone driving to this location for the first time...buckle up and enjoy the adrenaline rush. The drive up the hill to our house was like a roller-coaster ride! Fun, but very steep!
Thanks for making our weekend one of the most memorable ever! -

The cabin was beautiful! The view was amazing. The drive is like they say very steep and in the winter would be difficult to maneuver in snow just a fair warning. Along with the hot tub you also will possibly receive some woodland friends like a couple of raccoons looking for a snack, looks like they are use to being fed. The master bedroom was great! Loved the spa tub in the corner where you can relax and enjoy the view. One downside was the fireplace in the master bedroom did not work. We knew it was broke in Jan. when I booked the cabin but really thought that by the middle of October when you could use it that they would have it fixed. Would have been nice since we got married and spent our honeymoon there. If your not familiar with pigeon forge/gatlinburg area this cabin's view is looking down into pigeon forge. It is just right outside of pigeon forge. We thought it was more towards Gatlinburg. My husband and I can't wait to take another trip down to Gatlinburg. Overall if you want amazing views you have to tackle the last road which is a steep drive up but it is well worth it.

Our stay at The View was lovely. The cabin was great and had all the amenities we needed to be comfortable and the view of the mountains was fabulous. I have stayed at this cabin twice, so obviously I am a fan. The pool table and blast from the past PacMan and Galactica games are so much fun.
The only thing I could suggest is some new furniture or repairs to the old as the sofa and chairs in the living room are getting worn and torn.
I come to the Gatlinburg/Pigeon Forge area 3-4 times a year and have stayed at Patriot cabins many times. I haven't had a bad experience yet.
One suggestion I would like to make on the check in/check out times is to have your guests call you when they check out so that if the cabin is cleaned and ready by the time the new guests arrive they might be able to get to the cabin before 4pm. I know I usually leave well before the 11am check out time, so your staff could get an earlier start on cleaning and the arriving guests could get their grocery shopping done before the crowds hit the grocery stores and maybe get dinner on the table a bit sooner.

The drive up to the cabin was scary, with all the winding roads and steep hills, but once we got to the cabin it was all worth it. The cabin was clean and had a beautiful view. The fireplace in the master bedroom didn't work and by reading the reviews left before us, I don't think it's worked for a long time. Like the pet Raccoons that came to visit us every night.

This was our third visit from the UK. to Gatlinburg cabins managed by a.P.G. the service we always recieve is nothing more than first class. We are at this present time deciding which cabin to book for our next visit in 2012. On our last visit staying in the View we had a few friends calling to see us, at the time we where not in the cabin but our visitors did have a good time with the refuse bins, namely bears & racoons. Maybe next time we will invite them in. Seriously we can say with hand on heart coming to Tennesse is always a pleasure meeting the american people who make us so welcome. The Cabin is up a pretty steep road and we only have a front wheel drive truck. The back wheels couldn't grab the road to push us up and we kept sliding backwards so we had to back up the road into the driveway. The cabin fits up to its name. While we were there it snowed and snowed and the view outside was so beautiful. An excellent cabin to just get away from everyday craziness. We absolutely loved staying at The View and plan on staying again.

This is the 3rd year we have stayed at The View, and specifically "Where Bears Play". My husband and I, 2 grown children and spouse and 2 grandchildren love this place. It is enough room for all of us to have a great time. We will definately stay again!

We loved our stay at The View! The radio was tuned to Klove when we walked in the door and our weekend was filled with relaxation and reconecting. We wished the fireplaces were available in the early Fall, but the decks were wonderful as was the hot tub. We did a lot of hiking in the Smoky Mountain National Forest...beautiful!

The cabin and the view from porches was beautiful, the name of the cabin is very appropriate. The steep road getting up to the cabin was very dangerous; we left the road several times as it was slippery. The road was wet many times from dew & rain, and the fallen leaves would not allow traction on our tires. Folks considering renting this cabin definitely need to be prepared with the right vehicle to make that climb. It was pretty scary.
