Beautiful simple cabin enjoyed our time here. Only complaint is that the hot water heater could be bigger...but that's being very picky would completely come back.

Upon arrival, we walked into the office, gave our name, were handed great materials for the area and detailed directions - All within 5 minutes. We drove from the office to our house with zero trouble. The house was wonderful; just as the pictures on the internet. We loved the location directly on the water so we could fish and the isolation, yet still just less than 15 minutes from Gatlinburg. Very cozy, comfy and nothing more was needed. The hot tub is a huge perk !! Want to come back 2ce a year !!

The office staff was very friendly and efficient. We loved the cabin!! Did not want to leave. The river and the cabin were just what my husband and I needed. The cabin is located in a very private area. My husband and I even sat on the front porch and played cards. We have not done that in years!! The cabin is private but at the same time is close to Gatlinburg. We enjoyed "The Hungry Bear" BBQ place just as much this year as we have in the past. We spent a day looking at the local crafts. Some of them are really wonderful. What we enjoyed the most would have to be the simple things like the cabin itself and the beautiful river. We came home renewed.
Ok, but not what I expected.

The picture of the cabin and river across the street made it look like heaven. Not so much. There was ivy growing all over the side of the cabin, where we had our first view. The grass at the cabin had not been cut, nor was it cut at the river. However, the cabin was very clean on the inside. I used the washer/dryer every day. The kitchen had everything I needed and was plenty spacious. We had a problem with the air conditioning, but it was repaired the same day I called. The check-in/check-out process was really quick and easy. The cabin itself was the issue. The floors were unlevel and had a musty, damp smell about it. Read more
Thank you for taking the time to review your recent stay at A Beautiful River. We hope that you did enjoy your stay and apologize that it did not meet your expectations. As shown in the photo online, there is ivy on the side of the cabin, giving it a more rustic look. Unfortunately, we have experienced an above average amount of rainfall, causing the grass to grow more quickly than it typically does. Being on the water, can sometimes cause a damp smell inside a home. Again, we apologize that your stay did not meet your expectations and hope that you will choose Jackson Mountain Homes for your next vacation or getaway.

My wife and I stayed here ten years ago and we decided to go back to the same cabin. We love this cabin and the location! We like that it is out of the way of the hustle and bustle of Gatlinburg. The cabin had not changed at all, which we thought was different(in a good way). Can't wait to go back again!

Cabin is quiet and close to Gatlinburg and surrounding events,
While walking to the waterfall behind the cabin there was a large
Flock of wild turkeys feeding. I would definitely recomend and plan on going back. Next time I will bring my trout equipment the river looked great. Thank you for sharing this Cabin with Us.

Everything was great. Took getting used to it being so quiet. The only real complaint was the water smelled like rotten eggs from the sulfur. One local said the well might not be dug deep enouugh. The only other thing was the bulbs in the kitchen need to be changed out to a different type or brighter because at night did not seem to be enough lighting in the kitchen.

Had a great time in the cabin. The area was the best. There were only two things I didnt like. The smell in the cabin, like strong moth balls, our sinus were bad all weekend. Maybe they hadnt aired it out before we came. But airfreshners might help. I think it may be the old wood in the beams of the house. The second was when we arrived the back rooms roof and skylight had leaked from the rain and we had to take most of the towels to get up the water. We could tell from the floor that they have had trouble with it in the past. Its such a cute and compfy house I would hate to see it go down hill.I also think 69 dollars for a reservation fee is horrible. With the way times are right now vacations are hard to come by for some and that big of a fee for making a quick reservation seems really high to me. I really liked all of the operators in the office. They were very nice and helpful. All in all we will be back, we loved where the house sat we will bring our children next time to explore the area. Thanks Tammy Cory Read more
Thank you for taking the time to review your recent stay at A Beautiful River. We are happy to hear that you had a great time and apologize that you experienced any problems. We will have the odor and ceiling assessed and the necessary repairs made to correct the problem. We appreciate you bringing this to our attention and your understanding.
Of course none of us want to pay fees; however, all companies have some type of fee or multiple fees such cleaning, hot tub, reservation or processing. The reservation for this 1 bedroom cabin is $65; however, we do not have cleaning or other fees and we do offer great specials throughout the year, such as the 3rd night free offer that you were able to take advantage of. And, the next time you stay, be sure to mention that you have stayed before, for a returning guest discount. We look forward to seeing you and your family again.

My husband and I spent our honeymoon here and just came back for our 5 yr anniversary. There is a small trail behind the cabin that I recommend as well as taking a glance at an old barn behind the cabin. The sound of the water is calming, the seclusion is wonderful, and the location is great. The cabin could use a little modernizing and internet would be nice, but over all we love staying at a Beautiful River.

I really enjoyed the cabin during these 3-day photography journey. It is strategically located in the hills with a beautiful creek right at front. The cabin itself is very relaxing and comfortable. Staff personnel at Jackson Mountain Homes were very cooperative during the reservation and check-out process. I would definitely come back to the area and rent a cabin with JMH people!

Recently stayed at a Beautiful River and had a great time! We hit just before the leaves changed, but some were changing and some were falling. The river really is beautiful and we got it in and walk downriver a bit one day. We hiked up the path to the waterfall, too, which was neat. It is a wonderfully secluded cabin (one neighbor next door, but oh well). We had a minor bump at the beginning of our stay, but JMH handled it very well. We hit the aquarium one day - it was awesome! Had a great time just walking around town and brought home some wine and of course moonshine. Overall, we are planning on returning at some point!

The cabin was quaint. Lots of cobwebs but that's to be expected. The cabin was clean other than that. The biggest problem was the sulfur odor coming from every tap we turned on. The odor was so bad we could hardly shower. Used bottled water to brush our teeth and drink. It would stink up the whole cabin. Setting was beautiful and quiet. Read more
Thank you for taking the time to review your recent stay at A Beautiful River. We hope that you did enjoy your stay and apologize for any problems that you experienced. We have scheduled the cabin for a deep cleaning. Thank you for bringing this to our attention.
Sometimes, in cabins with wells, people who have a public water service at their home will notice a smell or taste that is different than they are used to. But, rest assured, the water is safe to drink.
We appreciate your understanding and hope to see you again soon.

Love the book that had stories from other people that had stayed there. The walls looke like they may have had mole on some places near the pool table. the fire place in the living room didn't work. Other then that we had a great time in this cabin. And would stay in a different cabin through JMH again. Read more
Thank you for taking the time to review your recent stay at A Beautiful River. We are glad that you had a great stay and apologize for any problems that you experienced. Being right on the river, sometimes causes a home to have more moisture. We will assess the possible need for a dehumidifer. We will also check the fireplace to make sure the pilot has been lit. We appreciate you bringing these items to our attention and your understanding. We look forward to seeing you again in the future.

Upon arrival, we were taken back a bit by the cobwebs and dust on the front porch and the delapidated condition of the benches by the stream. However, after a few flicks of a broom, we quickly adjusted to our woodsy environment and began to savor every minute of it. This cabin is close enough to all of the commercial fun that the area has to offer, yet it is a secluded retreat in the Tennessee countryside. The stream across the path in front of the cabin was perfect for a family swim, or if you feel a little more daring, you can grab your tubes and travel down the river just under the bridge. It's a fun ride! We also discovered a beautiful waterfall on the path behind the cabin. The master bedroom was quite comfortable. However, the sofa bed left a lot to be desired. Thankfully, our young daughters didn't mind too much. The pool table in the back room made up for it. I would suggest to housekeeping that more supplies be left for guests who are staying a full 7 days. We ended up purchasing a lot of things ourselves. Not a big deal though, just a small inconvenience. This was the most relaxing and rejuvenating vacation we have ever had as a family! We plan to return and have already referred family and friends.

My husband and I spent 8 nights at the cabin. It was a wonderful place to stay. We needed the air conditioning the fist couple of days and the heat and fire place the last three days. Both worked very well. We really enjoyed the use of the hot tub each evening. Stepping out the front door and hearing the river was great as well as sitting by it was great as well. The cabin had everything you would need for a comfortable stay. The only complaint we had was it was rather dark inside, especially on dark days. We took the shades off of the lamps and that really helped. I was really nice to be "off the beaten path". We ate all of our dinners at the cabin, relaxing after each day spent in the awesome Smoky Mountain National Park, which is why we came to the area in the first place. We are from Michigan and love the mountains. I would reccomend this cabin for anyone who wants a quiet get-away. Jackson Mountain Homes was a great rental agency, When we messed up the TV viewing, they were there in less then an hour to help us out.

We visited the area for our 5th wedding anniversary. We'd wanted to for years. Been to Vegas, Orlando, rented beach houses, etc. but this was our best vacation to date. The check in/out and reservation processes could not have been any better. The staff was very friendly. The cabin was just what we were looking for - secluded but close enough to all the restaurants, shopping, and attractions. We will be staying with Jackson Mountain Homes again.

We were suprised to find all the flowers in bloom around the cabin, the daffodills, the forsythia bushes, cherry blossoms and violots were spectacular. Another suprise was the beautiful waterfall cascading down the hillside from behind the mountain. A short hike took us to the top to see it in its full glory.
The cabin is old but well cared for. It was a little musty smelling when we arrived but after opening some windows it aired out. Everything was in good working order but two lights failed on the morning of our departure. I left a note. Read more
Thank you for your comments. We are happy to hear that you enjoyed your stay! It is nearly impossible to know exactly when all the flowers will bloom in spring and the leaves be at peak color change in the fall. So, it is a wonderful suprise when you realize you visited at the perfect time to see all the beauty that the Smoky Mountains has to offer! Thank you for letting us know about the lights, we had maintenance replace those right away! We hope to see you again soon - maybe you can visit during the perfect fall foliage time!

This cabin is in a beautiful area, right on the water. Far away enough to be quiet but close enough to still be convenient. However during our stay we noticed mold growing on the ceiling over the pool table near the skylight. On the 3rd night it rained and it leaked all over the pool table and onto the floor. There were several inches of water there. Jackson Mountain Homes offered us a credit and to move us but we were only staying one more night. They sent someone to clean it up in the middle of the night. Other than that it was ok. Won't be staying at this particular property again.
