This is the 2nd time I have stayed in The alpine Ski Lodge cabin. The 1st time was with a few of my Red Hat sisters last year (again in the fall).
I loved the cabin so much that I decided to stay in it again this year with a couple of my friends, my husband and my granddaughter.
I like the fact the it's so close to Ober Gatlinburg.
The tram goes right over the cabin and it was fun waving at people as they passed overhead. It was not load at all.
The owner's have all kind of needlepoint pictures throughout the cabin. It has two bedrooms (1 king/1 queen) and two full baths. It has a jet tub in a room of it's own, a sleeper sofa, a hammock on the back porch with a gas grill and a hot tub.
They keep a journal for visitors to write in, and it was interesting to read how many bear sightings there were. Although this kind of scared my 11 year old granddaughter who decided she was going to sleep in the room with granny and poppy on a palate.
It was so relaxing and peaceful. It was nice to just sit on the back porch and rock. We were well taken care of by Jackson Mountain homes, they were the best pricing by far.
Would I stay at the alpine Ski Lodge cabin again? You bet I would.

Almost instant registration. Nice office staff. House
has everything needed and the beds were really comfortable. Once you got used to the trip up is seemed
easy and close to entertainments. We really enjoyed the
long front and back porches and the weather cooperated.

From the kitchen fully equipped with utensils and pans to the comfortable living room, this cabin was a joy to stay in! I've rented more than 20 times in the Gatlinburg area and the alpine Ski Lodge is one of the best. You can't go wrong!

We enjoyed our stay at alpine Ski Lodge from July 16-20,2013 100%! This cabin had everything for our family of 4, including older teens, especially the rocking chairs on both porches and the outside hot tub--we never used the indoors one,but that looked inviting too! Kitchen was well stocked with high quality pots/pans. The entire cabin was spotless--kudos to whoever cleans it! Beautiful decorations by owners! We enjoyed board games at cabin and cooked in every evening. 10 minute drive to Gatlinburg so easy to get to activities and then feel like you're somewhat secluded. We also enjoyed just lounging on the porches that we never used the amenities at the club house--next time! The view was completely wooded at the time we were there, but still aSL is a well cared for cabin that I'd recommend to anyone! We found this out late, but it's very close to the top of Ober Gatlinburg ski lift so you could probably just drive to OG and take the ski lift down if you want to avoid the traffic. Enjoy!

The alpine Ski Lodge was a wonderful home away from home.
It was clean, spacious, wonderful porches to sit and watch the world go by.
We grilled out and used the well stocked kitchen every day. We enjoyed using the soaker tub and hot tub after a long day of adventures. Looked forward to returning to the Gatlinburg area soon and will be staying there again. The only disappointment was we did not see any bears, maybe next time.

We arrived after hours and found check-in to be easy and efficient. Our cabin was beautifully appointed with a very well equipped kitchen. Our family of six had ample room to enjoy all of the amenities from the hot tub on the back deck to the rockers on the front porch. The location was great for easy access to town as well as to the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. We especially enjoyed bear watching while sitting on the front porch in the evenings. We have visited this area several times and this has been our favorite place to stay.

Do you ever feel like you just need to get away? To just slow down and set your mind free? If you said yes, this is the place for you. We vacation somewhere every year. This year was different. I did "my homework" and researched many "cabins". This is really not a cabin in the traditional sense. It is a fully stocked home. It was spotless clean. Wonderful porches on front and back to curl up with a good book. Very comfortable from the bedding to the sofas and chairs to the kitchen. There is beautiful framed needlepoint pictures on the walls throughout the cabin. Once there, you will read about the owner making the needlepoint and the story of how the cabin came to be. There is a journal there that invites you to write about your stay. It was very enlightening to see the previous entries in the journal that were left by previous guests. And do not be surprised if you see the bears! We saw 3 adult bears and a mother bear with 2 cubs. The alpine Ski Lodge was the perfect escape from our busy lives! We loved everything about it!
We'll be back.

Alpine Ski Lodge is an excellent property if you want convenience to both the Smokey Mountains and Gatlinburg. I visit this area at least once a year, and in the past, have typically rented cabins in Sky Harbor. I decided to try something new, and I'm glad I did!
This cabin is extremely convenient - about ten minutes from downtown Gatlinburg and ten minutes to Sugarlands Visitor Center! After a day of hiking, I was able to head back to the cabin for a soak and still have it in me to shower up and head back into town for dinner and window shopping.
The cabin decorations are cute and lend a homey feeling. The kitchen is stocked with any and every appliance and cooking tool you could ever need.
The only drawback is the Ober Gatlinburg Tram, which travels directly over the cabin. While it's not loud per se, it does "buzz" from roughly 7.30am-11pm. If you like dead silence this may annoy you. Also, at night, tram riders frequently hoot and holler as they pass over head.
In my opinion, the convenience outweighed the noise, and I would definitely visit alpine Ski Lodge again!!

Jmh service is a+. We arrived early and the cabin was ready so we got to check right in. Directions were perfect, went straight to the cabin.
Cabin was better than described, everything you could need and then some. The needlework art was just amazing. Everything about the home was great. It was fun watching the trams come and go. We even got to see a bear in the yard, he was just wandering thru. Will recommend to family and friends. Location was nice not that far from town and road was pretty easy to negotiate. There wasn't anything we did not like about the cabin.

The lodge exceeded our expectations! It was beyond neat and clean. All kitchen amenities were available and ambience was wonderful. The lodge is decorated with frames and items with a Smoky Mountains theme. Kids had a lot of fun watching the tramway which goes right over the lodge. Looks like the lodge owners have paid attention to every detail in this wonderful vacation home. We will definitely want to stay here again.
Service was prompt, even after hours.
Only thing to point out is that the climb to the cabin is quite steep and winding, and website should say that for many of us who do not have a lot of mountain driving experience. Once we got used to it, it was great fun, but it would have been good to be mentally prepared for it.

Our family (my wife, myself and two sons ages 18 & 13) stayed for eight nights at alpine Ski Lodge for our first trip to the Smokey Mountains. It was a great trip, and staying at this property was definitely one of the highlights. The cabin was very clean upon arrival, everything was in working order, and it was well appointed. It's located close enough, but not too close to Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge, with easy access to the Smokey Mountain National Park. Jackson Mountain Homes was easy to work with. We particularly enjoyed the outdoor hot tub, outdoor seating, and grill. We will stay with Jackson Mountain Homes on our next visit to the area.
Very relaxing felt like home.

Called to book because I had questions about the location not addressed online. Jackson homes agent was local and knowledgeable about cabins, location, and privacy issues. Cabin was exactly as described and depicted, exception being that the view was better than described for the time of year. Tram overhead was not bothersome and in fact was fun to watch. Cabin was the best we've stayed in and we have been coming to the area many years.

We had a great time at aSL. I must say that the house gave us that log cabin feel, had a great view and made us feel we were definitely in a different place. The cabin/lodge was clean and had everything we could need and it is beautiful inside and out! We did not cook in the kitchen but the cabinets were well stocked. Before we booked this location, I did search other rentals that offered newer, mountain decorated cabins with game rooms. We were happy with our choice at alpine Ski Lodge but I do have some ideas for the lodge. I felt it was cluttered with "stuff" everywhere. I think this place needed more mountain/bear decor as in touches on bedding, furniture and bath...but much less of the decor. The carpet in the bedrooms need to go as it is showing age/use and just have the hardwood floors. I felt like I was in a B&B; in the kitchen with the apple theme heavily on display. The kitchen could use some updating also...stone countertop, stainless appliances...more spartan and clean as the wood gives a clean look. Also...the spongy layer on the bed needs to go...we felt like we sunk down and could not move. We loved the open air ceilings as we could see the wood beams everywhere!

The size of the cabin was perfect, the location worked out well. It was almost too quiet but then we are from a small town with 100+ freight trains daily, but the provided radio helped a lot. The cabin had everything we needed during our stay. Jmh was very accurate in the pictures and description of this property. The king sized bed in our opinion was a little on the soft side and and on the high side even though we are both tall. Our only disappointment for the whole stay was that my wife didn't get to see a bear! Thank you for allowing us the experience of staying here.

We always stay in our timeshare when we go to the Smoky Mountains, but they were booked this year so we booked alpine Ski Lodge and it was wonderful! Our children that were with us, (ages 20, 15 and 8) hope the timeshare will always be booked so we can go back to the cabin. From the moment we pulled into the drive we were so excited. The inside of the cabin is very accommodating with a warm feeling of home. This is the first vacation we have taken where we did not plan every day activities. We enjoyed a few activities but mostly I, my husband and girls enjoyed the cabin, the hot tub, the hammock, played games (provided in the TV cabinet) and spent such good quality time together. Perhaps the most memorable part of the vacation will be the evening the bear got into our garbage! After supper, I and our 8 year old had taken out the garbage and secured the latch. While we were playing a game inside, she looked out the window and told me that I left the lid up. I was adamant that I shut the lid and latched it. She then noticed the lid was broken. We assumed it happened when a truck turned around in the drive moments before. My husband went out to repair it so a bear would not get into the garbage overnight (as we had been told could happen). He immediately came back in and said that a bear had broken the lid and was sitting there digging through a bag of garbage! We watched and took photos from the doorway and back deck as the 400 lb. bear pulled out all four bags and went through them. Certainly not something you see every day and not something we will forget. Thank you for a wonderful vacation!

My family and I had been looking forward to this vacation for months! Our kids looked at the pictures of the cabin 100 times prior to leaving because they were so excited. Imagine their excitement when our van was in the driveway! The cabin was everything we could have hoped for and more. Our two children (ages 5 and 8) loved it and so did we! It is very private and we enjoyed many evenings on the back patio enjoying the hot tub and grilling out. The kitchen was fully stocked. You don't need to bring a thing! Everything was very clean and inviting. My kids loved having a DVD player, TV and Playstation in their bedroom. It was nice for them to be able to have "their own place" within the cabin. The drive up the mountain wasn't bad at all after we got used to it. The cabin provided all the comforts of home away from home. We spent our days full of the many activities that you can do in and around Gatlinburg so it was wonderful to come back to the peacefulness of the cabin in the evening. I highly recommend this cabin to everyone. You will not be disappointed. Make sure you ride the Ober Gatlinburg Tram so that you can ride right over the cabin! We can't wait to come back, hopefully next summer!

We really enjoyed staying at this home. It was really comfortable and the king bed even had a 3 inch memory pad. We loved the high vaulted ceilings and thought the whole house was decorated well..not cheaply. It felt like a home, not a rental. Everything was clean, plenty of towels, and enough glasses, dishes, cookware and serveware for a dinner party of at least 20! It was only a easy short drive of 5 minutes right down the mountain into Gatlinburg. Take a short walk up the street from the house and you can see all of Gatlinburg from the top. Alpine Ski Lodge is a lovely modern log house. Built only 10 years ago, it has very high ceilings and a lot of air. The house is well equipped. House atmosphere is very relaxing. We especially enjoyed our breakfasts on the deck and watching TV near a fireplace. The house is located on the southern side of Gatlinburg, which means that on your way to the National Park you will avoid all crazy Gatlinburg traffic. Note that the house is not in the walking distance from downtown Gatlinburg - you would have to drive there (about 3 min) and park the car on a public parking.

clean and provided enough room so that we did not feel cramped.
The children enjoyed the game system that was provided and my
husband and I just enjoyed the peace and quiet of the mountain.

This was a wonderful cabin to stay in. We have stayed with you 2 times in the past year. Glad we found you, we've been coming to Gatlinburg for 12 years now, and will continue to stay with Jackson Mtn Homes in the Roaring fork area. Thanks again.

We have stayed in several Jackson Mt. Homes in the past few years and have enjoyed each one. This home was a perfect choice. It's close to downtown, has every amenity you could ask for and was attractively decorated. The owner's needlepoint was a nice touch. It's a real log home with two porches, rockers, a swing, a hammock and a hot tub. My husband, daughter, son-in-law and granddaughters loved it. This trip was an early Christmas present for us all. We even had a light snow. The kids rode the tram up the mountain and waved to us on the back porch. We loved it.
