Our stay at the cabin was wonderful. The location to the activities in the surrounding areas was good, however, I didn't expect that the rental properties were among residential properties. This wasn't a problem but seemed to take away from the area as a whole. The cabin was very clean, nicely decorated and had everything that we could have wanted. The layout was a little different as the master bedroom was downstairs (the bottom level). The first couple of nights were a little chilly but then the weather warmed up considerably. The gas fireplace warmed up the room, but was on a 30 minute timer. Also, the grill was on the front porch rather than on the back deck. It would have been nice to have it in back so that we could have grilled and used the deck and hot tub at the same time. Just an inconvenience having it on the front porch was all. We loved the area and definitely plan on a return trip.

Autumn Ridge with Jackson Mountain Homes was better than we expected! It was perfect for our 1 year anniversary with the great view, hot tubs, fireplaces, and so close to the strip. This is my first trip to a cabin in Gatlinburg and I will not stay in a hotel again. The costs was less than most hotels and it truly gave you a mountain experience with a short drive down the mountain to many wonderful eating places and shopping. After getting ove the first drive up the mountain and being a little scared we got used to the trip and loved every minute of our three night stay.

Autumn Ridge is a beautiful cabin. My husband and really enjoyed our stay there. I love sunsets and the sunsets from the balcony were very beautiful. This cabin is in a quite secluded location yet easy to get into town and to the hiking trails. Very clean and comfortable. We will certainly book this cabin again.
It was very nice to sit in the hot tub and vie the amazing sunsets this cabin offers.

Autumn Ridge is a very beautiful and romantic cabin!! We stayed in it for our honeymoon. We did not want to leave!! The cabin was very clean and very comfortable!! Everything was very nice and up-to-date! The drive to the cabin is a little tricky, but we didn't get up there until after dark. Every other time it wasn't bad at all. I do recommend driving your smaller vehicle. Not just for the roads to the cabin, but for the entire mountain area! The staff of Jackson Mountain Homes were so friendly and considerate. They made the rental process very easy!! We will always rent from Jackson Mtn. Homes and will stay in autumn Ridge again soon I hope!!! Do not let this one pass you by!!!

We are very well traveled. From the best cruise ships to some of the best resorts in Hawaii Mexico and Carribbean. For our 25th anniversary wanted something different. No hassle with flying. Found Gatlinburg. Better yet found autumn Ridge through Jackson Mountain Homes. When I tell you I researched it is an understatement. Looked at at least 10 different rental companies and found the best deal with Jackson. The home was perfect. Truly no exaggeration when they say about 5 minutes from downtown. But cabin seems so isolated. Our 25th anniversary was special because of the complete privacy from the back of our home away from home. The views from this cabin were truly understated. We loved getting away from it all but being close enough to enjoy town. I almost hate writing this review because I do not want to have a hard time renting this place in the future.

Left on 08/16/2012 for a stay in August 2012
Autumn Ridge was comfortable, beautifully decorated, and extremely clean!!! The view of the mountains from the decks is simply breathtaking. We had seven different bear sightings during our stay here!! The people at Jackson Mountain Homes were friendly and helpful. The road to the cabin does get narrow and winding, but after the first time the drive does not seem bad. Better road signs would make finding the cabin easier. Definitely would love to stay here again.

Left on 07/26/2012 for a stay in July 2012
The mountain view was beyond our expectations. The cabin was perfect. It was spacious, spotless and tasteful. It did get warm in the living room and loft, but the ceiling fan helped to cool the rooms. The only thing is the road up is extremely narrow. On our way up, we met a vehicle going down and did not have enough room to pass. Be careful because there are blind corners as well. We stayed for six days and found it very hard leaving. We enjoyed it that much. If you are thinking about staying autumn Ridge is excellent. There are a couple of cabins close by, but the view from the back balcony is very private. The balcony to the bedroom is very secluded.

Another great experience w/ JMH! This cabin can't be topped. It is just the best! The mountain view is way better than the pictures on the website showed. The overall quality of everything was excellent. It took a couple of days to get used the narrow drive but the seclusion and view was worth it once we were up there. I highly recommend this cabin. You will not be disappointed.

Left on 03/28/2012 for a stay in March 2012
We stayed at autumn Ridge. We could not have been more pleased! This was our first time renting a cabin and first time coming to Gatlinburg and we loved it. This cabin is modern, feels like home, is in a great location and has great views. I was so impressed with the cleanliness of the cabin as well. The condition of everything inside was top notch also. The road leading to the cabin was a little unnerving at first but we quickly got use to it. The road is paved but narrow in spots with a couple of blind turns. I am afraid of heights so if I can be fine with it, I'm sure others could too. There are two other cabins close by, but I imagine in the summer when the trees are leafed out, you can't even see one of them. The other is across the street so only the front sides are facing each other. When you are on your deck you have complete privacy. When we stayed no one was renting either cabin so we felt like we had the mountain to ourselves. This could possibly be our best vacation yet, and we have been married for 27 years. Rent with confidence here.

We will be staying with the Jackson Homes in July with all our family at the Kodak Cabin!! I can not wait! And, hopefully we will stay at autumn Ridge next year! Only downside...the road leading to it was very scary (no side rails) only one car could fit on it!

Left on 12/19/2011 for a stay in December 2011
We have stayed with Jackson Mountain Homes before, but this was our honeymoon and we wanted everything to be just right.
Autumn Ridge was the perfect spot. Quiet, comfortable, warm, cozy, relaxing, everything you could need was there. Great king size bed, wonderful hottub, soothing jacuzzi tub. Lots of windows so you can see the "fantastic view" from any room or either deck !
Like all rentals at the "top" of the Smokeys the road is a little crooked and steep, but hey , do you want to get away from it all, this is it. The two gas fireplaces were very nice , we will have to come back when it's snow covered sometime. Perfect for two. -

After searching 100's of cabins, this is the one!
Left on 12/19/2011 for a stay in December 2011
If you love a more secluded cabin, very close to downtown Gatlinburg, with perfect views of the National Park mountains, then this cabin is what you have been looking for! The pictures of this cabin are accurate and the view was exactly what we hoped for. We normally stay on the strip in one of the many motels but chose a cabin this time. If you are reading this, then you know how difficult choosing a cabin will be. If you are looking for a family resort with multiple cabins in a complex, then this is not for you. No pool, etc that a complex might offer. But if you are looking for what we were: a more private setting just close enough to everything but with that "perfect view" we all crave, then Jackson Mountain Homes rental company and this cabin is the one!! Jmh not only easily accommodated our very late check-in, but also had a personal hand decorated note tucked into our check-in package wishing us a Happy anniversary! This cabin is located off Cherokee Orchard Rd/Baskins Creek Rd/ Loop Rd. This cabin's view is situated toward the actual Smokies, with the Park Vista hotel slightly to the right between you and the mountains. You can see the lights from the sky lift on the strip off to the right. To your left is a mountain rising straight up. Read the other reviews regarding the road up to the cabin, and the suggestion to back down the dead-end road into the driveway if you are in a larger vehicle. The bedroom is a little chilly, but there are extra blankets for the bed in baskets with extra pillows. The fireplace is on a timer because of the propane. But I'd rather not haul or chop wood while on vacation unless we're camping :-)
I dread writing this...hoping this cabin will be available for our next trip because the popularity will increase will most who choose it...but how can I not commend this location, view, JHM staff and the owners for creating a perfect place in the Smokies? P.S., we used OnStar to be sure we could find the cabin. Read the map JMH provides carefully and drive slowly. -

Left on 11/02/2011 for a stay in October 2011
We really enjoyed autumn Ridge. We loved how quiet, peaceful, and private it was. The cabin was not close to other cabins, which added to the secluded feeling. The cabin was very clean, we felt like we were the first ones staying there. The views were amazing. We really enjoyed using the hot tub on those chilly autumn evenings. We had some difficulties with it when we first arrived but maintenance came right out and adjusted it. Jackson Ridge called us up after our first night to ask how everything was - great customer service. The cabin also has a pool table which was a lot of fun. There are two fireplaces, which add to the ambiance. The mattress in the bedroom was actually very comfy, a lot of rentals let the mattress get old and not replace it, etc but that was not the case here. The road to the cabin is kind of scary the first couple of times you do it, but after a while you get used to it and realize that there are not that many people coming up and down the mountain (the road turns into a one lane road in certain places, which blind curves). Make sure to follow Jackson Ridge's directions to the tee when getting to autumn Ridge, they are accurate directions. Some flat screen Tv's would make a wonderful touch to this cabin :) But overall we would definitely return, this is a great relaxation getaway.

Autumn Ridge is a great cabin with a view that will match all others. We stayed here and were overall very happy with our experience. The only complaint was the cabin needs some updates...the Tv's are old and need to be modernized. The mattress on the king size bed was very very uncomfortable and old..it need to be replaced and finally the main couch had a very very pungent odor..so much so we couldn't sit on it! If these things were addressed it would be a great find in the Smokies!

My wife and I spent our honeymoon here! It was very isolated and quiet. The cabin was absolutely beautiful. The view was gorgeous! The drive up the mountain was a little scary, but worth it. The a/C in the place kept the bedroom freezing cold, while the rest of the cabin kind of struggled to keep cool. But, that was really no big deal. We just closed a couple of vents in the bedroom and it seemed to blow a little harder out of the rest of the vents. All in all, it was a perfect honeymoon spot. I loved drinking coffee out on the balcony in the early morning with the mountain view! It was perfect!

After many days and nights searching on the internet for the perfect cabin for my husband and I's 10 year anniversary getaway, Autumn Ridge was the only cabin we kept going back to. Once we arrived to the cabin, we were amazed by where the cabin was located. All the pictures on the website we viewed was exactly what we were hoping for! The mountain view was amazing! This was exactly what we wanted and needed for a couple get away. The cabin was very nice and the views throughout the cabin were just breathtaking. One thing to remember while you are going to the cabin for the first time is to really pay attention because when you go down for the first time, you question where to turn. But, once you drive the route a few times, it's no big deal. Other then that, everything was perfect! We both highly recommend this cabin if you are looking for a place to relax with peace and quiet and with a gorgeous moutain view.

We stayed in autumn Ridge for the first time ever. We were celebrating our first anniversary. It was everything we expected it to be plus more! It snowed the day we arrived so it looked like a Winter Wonderland! It was beautiful. The view was amazing. It was breathtaking. It was everything the reviews stated that it was. The sunset from the hot tub was beautiful. It was also very private which is what we wanted. I expected the roads leading to the cabin to be absolutely terrible and frightening after reading all of the reviews but it was not bad at all so no worries. We arrived when it was dark so the first time was challenging not knowing what to expect of the roads but once we had done it and during the daylight hours it was no issue.( It had also snowed and iced and we still had no issue to or from the cabin) The only worry at all was the sharp turns(I believe there were two) but once we had done it we had no issue. I would recommend arriving in the daylight hours. Also- for first-timers I suggest backing in the driveway. You can go past the cabin and you hit a dead-end. Turn around and come back down and back in. It makes leaving much easier. That way you don't have to back out and down the hill when you leave. We didn't pass one car to or from the cabin on the roads and we stayed 7 nights and left daily. Everyone had worried me about the size of the roads. The trip was everything we expected (except that we did not see bears and really wanted to) and we will return.

We enjoy the beautiful view that feels miles away from everything, yet so easy to get to and close to all the fun down below. The cabin was wonderful as always and the perfect size for the two of us. Snow the morning we left got us in the holiday spirit.

I planned a vacation getaway for my wife and I to celebrate our 25th anniversary, I could not have picked a better place for us to stay. My wife and I commented again and again just how perfect everything about our stay was. The cabin was beautiful, the view was everything that we hoped it would be and the proximity to Gatlinburg was nice. We will return and rent from Jackson Mountain Homes again.

We were extremely satisfied with our stay at autumn Ridge! The cabin is well-kept, the location is convenient to the National Park and the view is absolutely incredible. My kids enjoyed the hot tub and pool table and their only disappointment was not seeing any bears! We will definitely stay at autumn Ridge again.

My husband and I have stayed in autumn Ridge twice. The cabin is perfect for a couple, or a couple with older children. The bedroom is downstairs and the sleeper sofas are unstairs on the main level so it may not be suited for families with young children. This house has one of the most breathtaking views of any place we have ever stayed. We have stayed in the Smokies about twice a year for the past 15 years and this cabin has one of the best views. Gas fireplaces in living area and bedroom are also nice. Had trouble with the hot tub shuting off on it's own, but quick response after I called the office. Office staff professional and nice at check in and when I called about the hot tub. Road curvy and steep but the view makes up for it, just drive slow and it's OK. First time we stayed we drove an extended cab, full size truck and the second time we drove a SUV, we had no problems but did drive slow and tried to not be out too late. We would highly recommend this cabin to other guests.

I hope this doesn't cause prices to increase for future guests, but we were both amazaed at the value we received. We thought about staying in a bed and breakfast but wanted to spend the little extra to get a cabin up in the mountains. We were both impressed with the price of the cabin. The whole process of checking in and getting to our cabin was very easy (and everyone we spoke to was very helpful). Once we arrived at the cabin things even got better. The cabin met our every expectation and there were no unexpected surprises. Everything was clean and in great shape. I would recommend this anyone and will definitely be using JMH in the future!

Schaefferstown, PennsylvaniaAutumn Ridge - Second review
Left on 04/21/2010 for a stay in April 2010
Jackson Homes staff gave us great service starting w/ info as we chose our rental, the reservation process (very easy - all via email!), and our arrival.
Autumn Ridge was reasonably clean, nice amenities, nasty drive up (don't worry - you'll get used to it!), and a 10 star view! (Which was the main reason we picked this home.)
At Autumn Ridge, our favorite amenity was the pool table, as I had never played before (altho' we wished the loft was 2ft wider OR we had a sawed-off pool cue for those shots where the post and railing interfered!). Our least favorite feature of Autumn Ridge was lack of a frying pan in the kitchen supplies, dirty dishes in the cupboards (not housekeeping's responsibility - this is on the previous renter!), no screens (had to use the AC when just some ventilation from outside would have been suficient. But, we couldn't leave doors/windows open because of bees) AND - for us, the close neighbors. Most guests feel it was a secluded cabin, but for us it was not, as out home in PA is completely secluded w/ no neighbors in sight!
Now, the area of Gatlinburg: we came here for the Great Smoky Mts National Park - the hiking and wildflowers. That was fantastic! Downside of that was 3 main park areas closed for road maintenance which left the other areas crowded for off-peak. But the wildflowers were in their prime and we really enjoyed that. As far as town - we stopped in one evening for dinner, decided town was everything we dislike about a town, and went back to Autumn Ridge!Response from Jackson Mountain Homes - 04/22/2010

Thank you for your comments. We are happy to hear that you enjoyed your experience! We will forward your suggestion for short pool cues, additional frying pans, and window screens to the owner. We apologize that the previous guests placed dirty dishes in the cabinet. The next time you visit, if you encounter any problem, please contact the office and we will send someone to the cabin right away to take care of it. Cades Cove is re-opening this Saturday April 24th and the other temporary road closures are set to re-open soon, so the next time you visit you should be able to enjoy them! By the way, if you've never visited in the fall, it is absolutely beautiful! We hope to see you again soon!

The cabin was beautiful, just as pictured online, and was very clean.
The location of the cabin is on top of a dead-end mountain road and was very peaceful and secluded.
We loved being off by ourselves and yet it was only about 2 miles to the grocery store or downtown Gatlinburg. The thing that we liked least was leaving the cabin and returning to reality :( We will be back & while there may be other companies who rent cabins in Gatlinburg, we trust Jackson Mtn. Homes and will be repeat customers. Thanks for the best vacation experience! -

This was my first trip to the mountains and my first cabin rental and I hope it won't be my last. The cabin we rented was everything they said it would be and the pictures do not capture all of the beauty of the rooms. It was private, well maintained and the scenery was gorgeous. We did not see any bears because they were hibernating but we got snow and it was just beautiful. There was not one thing that we needed that the cabin did not provide except MORE TIME THERE!!!

The home itself was very nice. Amenities were good. Perfect place for a couple to spend a long weekend or week. The view was absolutely spectacular and home was conveniently located.
However, I was very disappointed in the cleanliness of the cabin. There were dead flies everywhere in this place. The great room floor, loft floor, window sills, etc. I have never in my life seen so many flies in one place, dead or alive. I suggest that when the cabin is cleaned that the floors are swept and window sills are checked for dead bugs. They were quite excessive and we had to watch where we stepped the entire length of our stay.
Overall we were pleased with our stay!
Thank you,

Thank you for your comments and we are glad you liked the cabin. Please let us address the flies. The cabin was cleaned thoroughly on the last checkout which was five days prior to your arrival. We had our Quality Control inspector in the cabin the day prior to your arrival. The problem is we had a little heat bloom before your arrival where the temperatures were in the 60's which caused flies and ladybugs. We had several cabins affected by this. The reason they died was because we have monthly pest control. Had you called us during your stay, we would have gladly come up and vacuumed the cabin for you. We do apologize this regional insect problem.

We had a very nice time in Autumn Ridge. The only thing that I would say would be nice to have since we do not have someone who comes daily to fill up things, to give more paper towels, towels, a dust pan to sweep on all the lady bugs. It was very nice and we really enjoyed ourselves. We will be back for sure!

This was our second stay at Autumn Ridge and was the occasion of our 25th
anniversary. We first visited this beautiful cabin 5 years ago for our 20th
anniversary. The home is very clean, cozy and relaxing. The interior, with its
cathedral ceiling, gives you the open air feel that you want in this location.
The jacuzzi for 2 is marvelous after those hikes in the mountains and the view
from either balcony is breath taking.
My only request would be some type of grill on the deck. Although, fighting off
a friendly raccoon wanting to share our dinner was a unexpected treat.
Rocking chairs on the bedroom deck would also be a wonderful addition.
Beautiful cabin in a beautiful setting. -

From the moment I saw it online, I knew that Autumn Ridge would be a
great place for my wife and I to get away for a few days. I booked it online
and a representative from Jackson Mountain Homes called me the very next
day to verify the online reservation and answer questions. From the
moment we arrived in Gatlinburg to the moment we left, we felt absolutely
at ease. The check-in was very simple and the staff was great. The cabin is
nearly a mile and a half up the mountain road (rather steep and narrow at
times) but it was not difficult to find.
The cabin itself was absolutely beautiful and was well prepared for the
week. The owners of the cabin and Jackson Mountain Homes have done a
wonderful job maintaining this home. It was very clean and very
welcoming. Every night when we returned to the cabin, we felt totally at
ease and relaxed. There was a binder of material left for guests that details
many, many ideas for getting out and about both inside the town of
Gatlinburg and the Smoky Mountains National park. It came in handy more
than once and helped us plan out daily events.
We stayed in this home for almost a week and did not want to go home!
Thank you to Jackson Mountain Homes for making our getaway a very
enjoyable one! We would definitely work with that company again. -

We have stayed at Jackson Mountain Homes before so we expected to find a nice cabin - clean - comfortable and fun - and we were not disappointed. Autumn Ridge is a beautiful cabin - and sitting on the porch looking out over the mountain is a breathtaking experience. However, the drive to the cabin is also breathtaking - and gut wrenching! We found ourselves hanging around Gatlinburg & Pigeon Forge until later in the evening because we knew once we faced the drive up the side of the mountain we wouldn't come back down until morning. I wish this had been a little better advertised that the access road to the cabin was very steep and became 1-way.

We spent the weekend in one of the Cabins in Gatlinburg, TN. It was wonderful and well worth the money we spent. The Cabin slept 6 comfortably and the kids loved the pool table. The thing I enjoyed most was the view of the mountains and how peaceful it was at night. The only complaint I had was how narrow the road up the mountain was. We drove a Sequoia, SUV and it took up the whole road, if another vehicle was on the opposite side of the road we would have had to back down the mountain. In all I would recommend this vacation home to anyone, I loved it!

Huntsville, ALPerfect getaway
Left on 03/27/2009 for a stay in February 2009
We chose this particular cabin based on the writeup that it had a view, pool table, hot tub and fireplace. It was exactly what we were looking for in a cabin. It had an outstanding view, was very clean and had great privacy (unlike some cabins that were almost on top of one another). The road narrows as you go up the mountain to the cabin so the drive may not be ideal for the squemish! The driveway is also a little tricky to manuever out of.
The only complaint we had was that the gas fireplaces only stayed lit for 30 minutes (on a timer)and we almost froze in the master bedroom and had to move up to the main floor and use the sofa sleeper the second night. (It was extremely cold outside that weekend, though.)
We would definitely return to this cabin but more importantly, we will certainly use JMH again. The people were excellent to work with and very knowledgeable of their properties. Check-in and check-out were simple, they gave detailed directions on how to get right to the cabin and even called us to make sure we arrived and had everything we needed.
I recommend this property highly if you want seclusion and a great mountain view.Response from Jackson Mountain Homes - 06/18/2009
