We had a wonderful time. The cabin is beautiful and extremely well equipped. The kitchen had everything we needed (and more!) The only down thing is there is no internet availability and closet space is very limited, but the location and view from the cabin made up for it.
Wonderful place to stay!

This review may sound like it is from one of JMH staff but this is really a true review. My husband and I were wanting a nice, relaxing, 5 year anniversary trip and that's exactly what we got! Beyond the Pond was phenominal! Perfectly clean and cozy! Had everything we needed and wanted! Check in and check out was a breeze. This place is not as secluded as you may think, but it's very quiet and meets the need of tranquility and relaxation. And it is very close to Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge. The only little problem that we had was the guy with the leaf blower coming around in the mornings to blow the parking place off. ?? Anyway, we plan to use Jackson Mountain Homes again!

Beyond the Pond was a nice and clean place to stay. You do have other cabins around you. Not secluded like the pic. shows, but that did not matter to us. Plenty of trees to still give you your private feel. The only thing I did not like, is the Bull frogs, but you can not do anything about that. Bring ear plugs. (lol) all in all we had a great time and would stay there again. The resort area is very pretty.

Everything about Beyond the Pond, and Jackson was great. The team was lovely to deal with, and the check in/out process straight forward. The house was perfect for our getaway.. clean, cosy comfortable with the added bonus of the pool table and hot tub. The location was great - close to shops and the center of town, but secluded enough to feel like you were far away.
Couldn't have asked more!
Secluded and great view!

This little cabin was perfect for my little family. It was clean and in a very nice location. My kids loved the hot tub and walking around the pond. I loved everything, including the hot tub, the kitchen where we made all of our meals and the location. I highly recommend this cabin. Perfect for a family of four, as long as your kids are fine with sharing a sofa sleeper. If we ever come back I will look for a cabin in this same community.

Was ver pleased with both the cabin and the rental service. Upon checking in, the staff was very friendly and had everything ready to go. Weather for our stay, coupons, turn by directions to our cabin, best restaurants and new additions to downtown gatlinburg including, Old Smoky Moonshine and The brewery. The cabin itself was clean and had everything we needed to enjoy our stay. Plenty of towels, dishes and an extreamly comfortable bed.

This was the first weekend away for my husband and I of 22 years without our kids. It was nice. I did find that some things were were not well upkept. The button on the jacuzzi fell off and was difficult to get to work right. there were dirty knives stuck in the knife holder which is pretty disgusting. It was not as private as the picture made it out to be. But a good weekend anyway. Read more
Thank you for taking the time to review your stay at Beyond the Pond. We are happy to hear that you had a relaxing stay and apologize for any problems you experienced. We will have the Jacuzzi tub serviced right away. We are very so the housekeepers overlooked dirty knives put away by previous guests and will address this with them. We appreciate you bringing these items to our attention and your understanding. We hope to see you again soon.

We absolutely loved the cozy "Beyond the Pond" cabin. Everything was nicely decorated and clean and met all of our expectations. The kitchen was well stocked with the essentials. It looks as great as the on-line photos. We weren't disappointed. We had several rainy days but were able to enjoy the hot tub, fireplace, and water streaming to the pond. It is a great location with short drives to all the local attractions in Gatlinburg & Pigeon Forge. The steep driveway would be a challenge in snow. We very much enjoyed our stay. We were sorry when it was time to leave.

Having family in the Gatlinburg area we visit yearly, we alway like to try new place...up until now, this will be our first place we try to get from now on. The location is perfect, when we bring our daughter there are things for her to do (pool, pond, walks) But for this trip it was a nice quite place to spend some quality time in the morning having coffee on the porch or at night with family over for dinner. You are close to most activities but far enough away to relax and enjoy nature.

My husband and I really enjoyed our stay at Beyond the Pond. It was clean, comfortable, and the hot tub on the porch was wonderfully relaxing after our long drive and days of sight-seeing.
Everything was just perfect except that we didn't expect to have neighbors in such close proximity. The picture makes it seem as though the cabin is more remote than what it is in reality.

This cabin was the perfect getaway for my husband and I. We absolutly loved the location, view, amnenities and overall decor in Beyond The Pond. I was very impressed with the upkeep and cleanliness too! The check-in staff at Jackson Mtn. Homes was super friendly and helpful with directions and questions! My only complaint is the quality of the matress was horrible, definately one of the most uncomfortable vacations bed I have slept in! Even with all the things to do in the area, we enjoyed just as much our time at the cabin. Our son, 9, loved the pool table and the small pond out front. We had a hard time keeping him indoors. The hot tub was great--although not very private with everyone entering the community can see if--maybe a screen there would be good. Location was easy access to Gaitlinburg and activities. Even though not far out still far out enough to enjoy the nature. Only downside is the bathroom is totally open to bedroom so when traveling with kids there is no privacy. Younger children or couples would feel most comfortable here.

Have rented from Jackson Mountain Homes the last 5 times we have visited The Great Smokey Mountains. As always the staff at JMH was exceptional - friendly, ourteous, helpful & informative! We have stayed at "Beyond the Pond" a total of three times by choice. The cabin is nicely furnished and comfortable. We especially enjoy sitting on the covered porch relaxing, reading and listening to the water trickle down the hillside into the pond. Rain on the metal roof is always a welcome sound. We plan to request "Beyond the Pond" again in the future.

Loved the wood everywhere, the full kitchen and extra half bath were appreciated. We really didn't use the pool table and wished there was a bed up there instead of the sofa bed downstairs. The beds are pretty uncomfortable. The main bathroom is set up right inside the bedroom, with the sink, shower and tub all right in the bedroom with no barrier, kinda strange floor plan. The toilet is in a little room to itself, still inside the bedroom.
We were expecting it to be a more woodsy environment, with hiking directly available, but the atmosphere was still nice, and it was close to where we were visiting for football games and only a few minutes drive from the main strip in Gatlinburg. The online picture was misleading, as it shows only the one cabin, with the pond view - so we thought it was more secluded, but there were several cabins pretty close. We did look around at the other cabins in the same "park" and the views got more and more beautiful as you went higher. The pond view was still nice and there's a little creek running right next to the porch, so you hear the water running over the rocks all of the time...very relaxing. The cabin itself seems brand new and is really pretty inside and out. There is a gas fireplace that we appreciated so we didn't have to fool with firewood. The inside pictures are a good representation of the cabin.
I wish there was a choice between very good and average, as I would pick "good" for our experience, mainly because of the location. I give the cabin itself a "very good" - very nice, except for the uncomfortable beds.
Overall, I would recommend it. Read more

My husband and I loved our trip to the Smoky Mountains and our stay at Beyond The Pond. The cabin was exactly what we wanted and needed. It was cozy, very clean, easy to find and the location was perfect for us. Very nicely located to downtown Gatlinburg and most importanly, easy to get to and from the Park as we spent lots of time hiking. The parking is the only complaint as the driveway is very steep and we have a large truck, other than that it was perfect for us. I would definately recommend Jackson Mountain Homes and Beyond The Pond, and will be planning another trip to the Smoky Mountains soon.

I thought the cabin was great except for a few small details. The floors and table had not been cleaned very well as there was something sticky left on them. The bed was not very comfortable as well. The mattress was very hard and both my girlfriend and I had trouble sleeping on it all night long. The view was fantastic and even though several of the cabins near by were occupied, we never had and problem with privacy. The staff at check in was very friendly and gave us wonderful directions. We will definitely keep them in mind next time we visit Gatlinburg. Read more

The cabin was immaculate....it has a very cozy, at home feeling. Everything you could possibly need was there. The gas fireplace with the timer was great because after a day of skiing all we had to do was turn the knob and there was a warm fire. I loved the location because of the pond directly in front and there were rocking chairs just in case you wanted to sit out there and just enjoy the scenery. After spending the weekend there, I was well relaxed to come back and tackle my real world at home. I can't wait to go back!

Upon arriving at the Jackson Mountain Homes to pick up our cabin keys and information the staff was eager to help us get to our cabin quickly and offered lots of valuable information.
Our cabin "Beyond the Pond" was absolutely beautiful. Inside was very clean and tidy. It felt very much like our own home not just a place to stay for a few days. The cabins location was just a very short drive away from the store and the heart of Gatlinburg with all of the shops and activities.
My favorite part about the cabin was the hot tub on the front porch which was very relaxing after a long day of activities in
The Smokies. The only thing that might be troubling is the steep driveway if there is snow on it. There was other parking though within a very short distance. I would highly recommend Jackson Mountain Homes to any traveler who wants to experience the Smoky Mountains.

Fabulous. That's the only way I can describe our recent stay at "Beyond the Pond". I travel internationally for work, so when I choose to go somewhere for vacation, it has to be exceptional; this was. The cabin was exactly as described, more than clean...spotless. It had everything we needed, was close to town (5 minutes) and yet still private. We were lucky, it snowed right before we arrived, and made everything look picture-perfect. The service from the rental company was excellent, from the reservation to checkout; everything was in order. The cabin and the service was a refreshing change, a step-up from what you would normally expect. We really enjoyed ourselves, and would reccommend to anyone.

We had seen the pictures online but you never know if you are going to get exactly what is advertised. In this case, there were no surprises. The cabin was as beautiful and cozy as seen in the pictures. It was a wonderful and peaceful cabin and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Our two young boys had a blast with the pool table and went exploring around the cabin looking for bears. Yet they found none. The cabin was clean and comfortable for a family of four. I especially liked the washer and dryer to clean the dirty, sweaty and wet clothes after a day of skiing and the half bath on the loft level was very helpful when four people are trying to get ready in the morning. We definitely recommend "Beyond the Pond" and would love to come back and stay there next time we visit Gatlinburg.

My husband and I loved Beyond the Pond. It was the perfect size for the 2 of us. Quiet, cozy, and comfortable. It was very clean and had everything that was advertised. It's close to all the places that we like to go in the Smoky Mountains. We have been to the area several times before and this is by far the best place that we have stayed. The only draw back was the driveway. It was ok during the day, but at night it scared the wits out of me. We would stay with Jackson Mt. homes again just look for a cabin with a less steep driveway.

Office person was very nice.Direction and information was also good. I like the area- if I had one thing to change- It would be waking up to the lawn people using blowers/trimmers in the morning. But then again, they were doing a great job at taking care of the place. My wife and I spent 4 terrific nights at Beyond the Pond and loved every minute of it. With the little ones at grandma's hous back home, we made our own pace, which was mostly slow. We found plenty to do in Gatlinburg and even more to do in the Smokies with hiking and taking in the outdoors. Our cabin was simply perfect. It was as clean as a whistle and the hot tub and frog pond completed the scene. It's possible that my wife and I appreciated one aspect of the cabin more than anyone else...it was very shaded from the sun!!! We were able to sleep until 10am (or later) without even noticing that it was daylight outside. For us, this was worth every penny.
Around town, be sure to eat at the Cherokee Grill & the Park House Grill. Both are pricey, but well worth it. Also, you can't go wrong with Flapjack's Pancake House for breakfast...we ate there every morning! The aquarium and the skylift were worth it, and the shops were cute and quaint.
Oh, I should also mention that we saw 6, count 'em, 6 bears in 4 days, including a mother with 3 cubs! It was awesome. We'll definitely be going back with our daughters in the next year or two.

We enjoyed the stay at Beyond The Pond very much. It was very relaxing and convenient. We liked watching the fish swim in the pond while relaxing on the porch. Staying at Black Bear Falls is like a second home to us. We stay in one of the chalets three or four times a year. We won't stay anywhere else since we discovered it. The homes are all very nice, clean and cleverly decorated.
The swimming pool is great in the summer when we bring our grandchildren. It has never been overcrowded and is very clean and well-kept.
The convenience of a washer and dryer is great also so we don't have to haul all our laundry home.
Our grandchildren love the pool tables and games and large screen tv's. We have everything we need there for a great vacation. I highly recommend it.

Loved the house, everything was so nice and cozy. It just made you feel like you were at home, at ease. The only thing I didn't like too much about the place was that you couldn't fish in the POND, it had goldfish in it. I thought by reading the property info before renting the house the pond was going to be one you could fish in, but its not. Everything else on the property and around the property I LOVED!!!
