Amazing Service from Jackson Mountains and a comfortable stay
Left on 04/24/2014 for a stay in April 2014 | CJ
Beautiful and a clean cabin. Not too deep in the mountains and five mins from Gatlinburg downtown. Since it was early spring, we could see all the other cabins around us which are very close to each other in the community. One disappointment was the outdoor grill which was like the grills at the parks and placed close to the entrance. It would have been nice if it was on the family room deck. Also, the mountains can be viewed only from the family room. Jackson mountains folks were amazing. All the service calls were promptly taken care of. Would return to them!

We booked our Thanksgiving reservations through Jackson Mountain Homes and the service was excellent. One week prior to check in rep. from JMH contacted us saying that a tree had fallen across the deck of our cabin and that it was uninhabitable. We were assured that they would work tirelessly to find us a "Plan B" cabin in case ours was not repaired before our arrival date. Jhm came through in more ways than one! Not only did they find us an alternative cabin, but they also had our beautiful Big Sky Cabin repaired just in time! The cabin, was very clean and comfy. And the view is breathtaking! We are very grateful to the staff at JMH for working so hard, and giving us yet one more reason to be thankful during Thanksgiving.

Super 2 bedroom. Everything worked very well. Didn't shoot pool but the hot tub and fireplaces were great. A bit of a challenge for our dog's potty break but well worth the trouble. Rating is just short of excellent.

Big Sky was perfect and was everything we ever hoped for! The cabin is beautiful inside and out! Views were fabulous! Very clean cabin and decorated beautifully throughout. Most of all loved the rocking chairs and the swing on the deck! I would definitely recommend this cabin to anyone! Thank you for allowing my little dog "Izzy"! She loved hanging out on the deck as much as I did! Working with Jackson Mountain Homes has always been a pleasure! Will definitely be back!!!

Wonderful service agents; modern, very clean, comfy, spacious, convenient! We have stayed at two or three other cabins in Black Bear Falls, but this particular cabin stands out as perhaps the best. Only a short drive to downtown or to the arts and Crafts area. The only downside is that the main living area is on the second level (about 15 steps up); however, there is a BR and Ba on the first level--just no kitchen access.

We enjoyed our stay at Big Sky Cabin very much! It was a very nice cabin and clean. We loved sitting out on the deck in the rockers and the porch swing enjoying the mountain view. The hot tub was very nice also. The cabin had everything we needed in the kitchen. Everything was wonderful! I would rent this cabin again!
We had a great time enjoying the cabin and views!

The only suggestions would be to leave more trash bags in cabin. Also the owners may want to take of the carpenter bee problem , they are tearing up some major beams on the deck. Thanks a lot

Relaxing week in the mountains

We enjoyed our week at Big Sky Cabin, we had 4 adults, three little ones and a dog. Plenty of room, tvs, and room to spread out. Our only complaint would be that each tv had 3 different remotes.
We checked in with Jackson Mountain Homes and received all we needed with specific instructions to get to the cabin.
We never did get to check out the pool and club house.
We were close to a grocery store, town, riding the trolley, heading to the mountains or the arts and crafts area. We have been coming to Gatlinburg for years. This is the first time we have stayed in a cabin with family and it was just right. The kitchen and table were great for cooking and eating, the hot tub was well used after a day of hiking, and sitting out on the porch swing for quiet was great.
We were a little disappointed that some of the things were not open at Dollywood because it was early, but had no problem with anything else not being opened. We ran out of time to do things, which always happens.

Thank you for taking the time to review your recent stay at Big Stay Cabin. We are glad that you enjoyed the cabin and are sorry to hear that your stay was disturbed by a group at another cabin. We hope this unfortunate incident will not prevent you from returning to Big Sky Cabin in the future. As you know, most people are considerate of others and keep noise levels at a reasonable level. We hope to see you again soon.

We were so pleased with Big Sky Cabin and Jackson Mountain Homes. The office staff was so helpful from our first interest in their cabin to our departure. The next time we come to Big Sky it will be for a longer stay. The area was convenient and the view was magnificent. Our daughter in law had never been to Gatlinburg so we wanted her to get the full experience by staying in a beautifull cabin. We also had a 5 year old, a 1 year old and our dog, oh yea and our son. We were all comfortable and happy with our stay.
Big Sky is a wonderful cabin for adults, children, and our pet abbey.
Thanks Jackson Mountain Homes and Big Sky Cabin for a wonderful vacation. We will be back.

This was our 3rd trip to Black Bear Falls and our 1st stay in big sky. The cabin is very well appointed and the family room area upstairs very comfortable and inviting. Porch areas were very nice with a nice swing and plenty of rockers, although the mountain views are somewhat obstructed by trees. We love this area because of close proximity to the park and there is a very nice Food Club supermarket and new Dollar General at the bottom of the hill, all you could want. One thing to note is that the entry is into the gameroom area and the main living area and kitchen are up the stairs. So you'll be climbing stairs even its just 2 of you. We love that it was pet friendly , but you'll need to walk the dogs a little ways to find flat ground. The drives makes a 180 and will take a little maneuvering to park 2 cars. The adjacent cabin puts your hot tub directly below and in partial view for your neighbors above, so keep your clothes on:). Overall though, a nice experience and a beautiful place. The cabin is well maintained and well stocked. We would stay here again

We have been visiting Gatlinburg for 10 years now & this place is by far the best yet! The cabin was the cleanest one we have ever stayed in. Our children especially enjoyed the pool. We absolutely loved the area. There are many cabins in this area, yet the trees make you feel secluded and add privacy to the cabin (and much needed shade on the hot summer days). Check in was easy & Christine in the office was very helpful. We can't wait to return.

We really enjoyed the cabin. The furnishings are upscale and very comfortable. We especially enjoyed the porch, swing, rockers and hot tub. The only suggestions we would have are : a better grill under cover and maybe, more dinnerware, etc. With 8 people staying we had to run dishwasher after each meal. Of course, we could have washed dishes!!! No big deal! Definitely would like to return!

We had a wonderful experience at the Big Sky cabin in Gatlinburg. The cabin was as we hoped it would be. The view and surrounding area was wonderful. We appreciated the way Jackson Mountain Homes handled issues. On arrival our intended cabin had air conditioning problems. We were placed in a very accommodating cabin overnight during repairs. When we had issues with the hot tub, it was solved that same day. The staff was very friendly and courteous. We miss sitting on the deck swing enjoying a morning cup of coffee or unwinding after a long day.

We stayed in a similar cabin 2 yrs ago and had a great experience. Big Sky, however, had a few problems. From the beginning there was a bad urine oder. Upon further investigating we discovered the area rug smelled awful. When we called and they came to clean it, they ended up removing it as there was also a large rip in it. Then the wood floor underneath stunk so they came to clean it-but it still stunk when we got back to the cabin. My husband washed the floor carefully, paying careful attention to the cracks between the planking, on hands and knees, and finally got rid of the order. Also the internet didn't work. They came to fix it but we discovered that whenever we turned on a TV the internet crashed-so it was either TV or internet all week. The carpenter bees were also very busy on the deck so that needs treatment. Those were our main problems but we did have a mostly relaxing week in spite of the frustrations. Read more
Thank you for taking the time to review your recent stay at Big Sky Cabin. We apologize that this stay wasn't as great as your previous experience. The carpet cleaning company did remove the area rug as it was dripping with pet urine. The cabin was vacant for 3 days and had not had a pet in it for 8 days. We are sorry there was any lingering odor. The router has been reset and is now working properly. We will have the deck sprayed for carpenter bees. We appreciate your understanding and hope that you will choose Jackson Mountain Homes in the future.

I enjoyed the stay at Big Sky very much. We needed a break and we got it once we arrived. The only thing I have to complain about is the pet walking area. I have stayed with Jackson Mountain Homes on several occassions but never in a cabin this small. My experiences have been wonderful and the cabins in the past have been great. This cabin had the potential to be nice but seemed unkept. The bedspreads and other linens seemed very worn. Not enough blankets. The king size beds were comfortable but the sleeper soafa's were horrid. The mattresses on both sofa's could be folded like in half with no resistance at all. Despite these things we still had a great time. I will go back and I will rent from JMH but will ask more questions next time. Read more
Thank you for your comments – we are happy to hear that you had a great time and value your repeat business! We will have quality control assess the bedspreads and linens and take any necessary action. As stated on our website, we do provide 1 blanket for each bed. Sleeper sofa’s do have mattresses thin enough to fold and slide easily back into the sofa when not in use and generally work better for children. We look forward to helping you choose the perfect cabin for your next trip!

My husband & I go to G-burg annually and usually stay at a Jackson Mountain Property....all have been great and different in their own ways. This chalet was beautiful and a wonderful find for a 2 bedroom. This was the 1st 2 BR that we have stayed at (we usually have enough people for 3-4 BR's). Nice views, very comfortable and welcoming common areas in the home. Great location, you can't beat BBF's for proximity to downtown. I would highly recommend this chalet to anyone needing a 2 bedroom place. Very clean, pool table very nice and hot tub great. Charcoal grill was only thing I can complain about so over all HIGHLY recommend!

We enjoyed all our dealings with the Jackson Mountain Homes staff. They were friendly and accommodating to our every requests. We did have serious issues with the sleeping accommodations however. The two beds were not very comfortable at all and the two queen sofa sleepers were totally unusable. The view was not as advertised and left a lot to be desired. This was so bad that if we had been there for longer than 3 nights we would have requested another cabin. This will make us think about what questions to ask if when we stay with you in the future. Christy at your office was great - very sweet, very helpful, very concerned, very flexible. We liked the home. Nicely designed and laid out. Internet connections were intermittent. We did not like that the family had personal photos throughout the house. Deck was great. Tub was great. Dartboard was fun. My wife did not sleep comfortably on the upstairs bed, but I liked it okay.
Overall, a good experience. We will come back, but probably try another cabin for a better experience. Read more

We enjoyed staying in the Big Sky Cabin. It was enought space for 2 families of 4. It was a nice retreat after spending the day in the hustle and bustle of downtown Gatlinburg. Sitting in the hot tub on the deck looking over the mountian views way very beautiful and relaxing! We also enjoyed being able to gather at the pool, since we had 12 or more families staying at these cabins from our dance studio. We came down for a dance competition and we very happy with our choice of accomidations. It was also great that we were able to bring our dog with us and didn't have to leave her at home!

We really liked this house...the inside and the decks and hot tub were absolutely great. Our issues came in with the driveway, believe it or not. It had snowed a day before we got there...much to our delight. The problem was we couldn't get into the driveway b/c of the ice. So there was virtually no place to park either of the cars on the road, and you had to work HARD to get your suitcases into the house. Someone had put salt out, but it just wasn't enough. We slid and even FELL because there was just no way around it. On the last day we were there, we finally got the cars into the driveway and didn't have to worry about an emergency visit to the ER with a leg fracture! The view---well it made up for everything! Amazing!

We arrived in Gatlinburg that weekend to get married. The cabin was absolutely beautiful. It had everything we could have wanted. The only draw back was downstairs next to the door, someone had let their dog pee on the floor several times. It was covered up by a rug, but the smell was horrible. We had some friends come by to visit and have a few drinks and play some pool and was totally embarrassed by the smell. We had used Jackson Homes before so that is why we chose them again instead of the Log homes that came with the wedding package. I was disappointed for the most part only because of the price that we paid, condition of cabin and it was our wedding weekend.
Thank you for your comments. We are sorry to hear you had a problem with an odor in the cabin. It was obviously an oversight on our part and had we known at the time, would have gladly had the carpet cleaned or even moved you to another property. When you are ready to come back, please let us know you had this problem and we will make sure your cabin is perfect for you!
