Me and my wife stayed for a week and we had no problems at all. We loved this cabin. It was beautiful and reasonably priced. It was just right for us. The location was great. It was only a short drive to everything (8 min to downtown Gatlingburg and 20 minutes to Pigeon Forge). The cabin is actually located on the arts and Craft Community loop so you can take the back way to pigeon forge. It was in a secluded location so we had our privacy. The only downfall was that the drive is a little steep to get to the cabin but if you want seclusion and privacy this is a great choice. There are two other cabins nearby but not right on top of you. We would rent this cabin again.

Luv this cabin. If you want seclusion for lots or r&r; this is the cabin for you. This was a much needed family getaway after my husbands open heart surgery. I will state I was very pleasantly surprised with the cabin. From the online pics I was apprehensive that the cabin would be out dated, not the case. The location was perfect. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. The tv remote would not function, we made the call and within one hour they had a service rep out to replace it...Talk about great service. This one is a keeper !!! Definitely will be staying with Jackson Mountain Homes again..Keep up the good work.

We enjoyed the cabin. Nicely decorated and almost everything was at the standards we expected. Small things that would improve the unit. Replace the couch it was was uncomfortable the cushions need replaced, replace the shower head in the downstairs bedroom. Brighter lighting in the common area. I brought a rocker in from the porch and my family preferred to sit in it. Loved the swing on the front porch. Bed was very comfortable. The price was vey good. The parking area was great plenty of room and easy to turn car around.

The cabin was very nice. It was very clean and at the end of the drive so it was a little more private than some of the others. There were some dogs barking at a permanent residence down the hill is the only reason it didn't get 5 stars.

For the past 30 some years we have been gong to the Smokey's twice a year. This year was one of the most pleasant. We rented Buckhorn through Jackson Moutains homes. It is the perfect place for us. The property is well Maitained and using the Backroads close to all the area's attractions. Going into the cabin one feels like we are home.Of all the places we have stayed over the years we like this one most. We have stayed at the other place, does den many many times and loved it.We had a chow Natasha that made 25 trips with us and stayed at does den.Since she past we have not been able to go thee, too many memories. We now have "hope" our new chow that simply loved Buchorn and we and she will be returning there this spring for 10 days. Thanks to the owner and Jackson Moutain homes and staff for making our trips so pleasant!

The Buckhorn was a wonderful cabin and wish we could have stayed more than 1 night. Due to water (well) issues we had to move to another cabin - Kickin Back. Kickin Back was also a great cabin. Don't know which I liked best. Jackson Mtn. met all our expectations and a big thank you to angela for working with us to make our trip a memorable one. Our party will come back in the spring and bring more members with us and we'll need a larger cabin. Thanks again Jackson Mountain for the memorable monents for us.

I have used Jackson Mountain Homes several times. The Cabins are alway very clean and everything in working condition. This trip was no exception. We had plenty of privacy and were able to relax in the Hottub every night. The location was close enough to town that we could drive in to shop and eat and still felt like we were in the mountains. We also had eveything we needed for the night we stayed in and cooked, there were even blow dryers , which were nice because I had a wife and two girls along.Only complaint was the road getting back to the cabin could use a little work but not really a big deal. will stay again soon.
Beautiful cabin, quiet setting
Left on 08/12/2012 for a stay in July 2012 | Sharon H.
My family and I have been visiting the Gatlinburg area for ten years and have stayed in cabins for the last few trips. We definitely prefer them now to condos. (We like the space and the privacy.)
The Buckhorn cabin was spacious (it was my mom, my 18-year-old daughter, and myself), very clean, and well furnished and equipped. We like the quiet in the mornings and the evenings, so we loved the rocking chairs and swing and on the porch and the back deck.
The beds were comfortable and there were plenty of good towels for the three of us. There is plenty of closet and drawer space. We didn't use the TVs very much, but there are three of them and they work, so if you need them, they're there.
The absolute only thing that stopped me from marking the cabin with 5 stars instead of 4 is the fact that you have to drive by another cabin in The antlers to get to the Buckhorn. The problem with this is that the other cabin sits at the top of a very steep hill, so you're going at a pretty good clip to get up the hill when you get to that first cabin. When we were there, there was a family staying in that cabin who had little kids. The kids played outside on the paved surface once in a while, so I was always a little nervous making that climb up that hill. I honked my horn before I started up in case they were outside. I guess my only suggestion for this is for Jackson Homes to caution families who stay in that cabin to be aware of this possible hazard and for those who rent the Buckhorn to be aware that there could be people out and about at the very top of that hill that you won't see until you're there.
We really did enjoy the cabin and the stay there. The price was very reasonable, and I believe we'll be back. Check-in and out were a piece of cake. (We arrived after hours and had no problems.)
The cabin was nice if you like seclusion.

The drive to the cabin was not a pleasant site. Once you get there, if you like to be secluded, you will love it. We would opt for a view next time.
Wonder quite place to meet with my brother and his wife.

We have no complaints. The place had everything we needed and more. We didn't get in the whirlpool tub or hot tub on deck. We need to plan a longer stay the next time.
Great place to stay.

The cabin was perfect and had everything that you could need while you were away on vacation, however the coach was very uncomfortable and there is limited seating. The cabin is in a beautiful location, however the directions getting to the cabin are a little hard to navigate.

There were several draw backs to this location. One was that the road was really overgrown and needed to be clipped to keep your vehicle from getting scratched. Road was in a bit on disrepair. My only complaint about the cabin itself is that the couch was not comfortable. It would be nice that the kitchen be equipped with some dish cloths and towels and good dish (Dawn)detergent. The mattress downstairs could use flipping. Other than these minor details we were very pleased. The cabin was welcoming and warm and nicely decorated.
Great time, however, spend the money and get new couch

The cabin was beautiful...we were originally booked at the Bears Den,but when we arrived the cabin was not secluded( as we were told) there were other cabins all around. We called the management office and they moved us to the Buckhorn...which was very secluded. Buckhorn was a beautiful cabin...however the kitchen was not very well equipped...no skillet to cook breakfast the next morning. That is probably the worst thing about the cabin...all in all the cabin was great!!! despite the fact that my husband and I both got stomach poisoning from the alamo...and had to stay in for the entire stay!!!

We loved the location and new furniture. Cabin is very clean. Rental company is awesome very proactive with needs. Cabin bathrooms a little old. Some of the utensils lacking in the cooking department, but rental agency brought what was requested quickly. Loved the area-was our 3rd or fourth trip to the Buckhorn - will visit again! Our girls loved the hot tub and back porch.

My first impression of the Buckhorn was right. I loved the way the cabin is set back at the end of a cul-de-sac. The interior was decorated in a rustic but tasteful motif. The beds were extremely comfortable, and the cabin was equipped with everything we needed. The grill and picnic area out front was a nice touch. The only disappointment was a lack of wireless internet, but that may have been a blessing in disguise, as I did not spend any time on the computer. I will definitely stay in the Buckhorn again if it is available when I return for a weekend in the Smokies!

We have stayed at other places, but never had a welcome call, that was really nice.A gentleman came right away to turn on the gas fireplace for us.The cabin it`s self was very clean and cozy inside and out,it had everythimg we needed. The bedrooms were amazing, very spacious. The location was great not to far from town, and atractions. We liked the jacuzzi tub, overlooking the balcony at the forest,it would be very beautiful in the fall. Our only concern would be the driveway if it had snowed there would be no way we could have got up there, other than that it was a perfect New Year Holiday.

nice place. looks like photos except outside is darker. the wallpaper border on walls is peeling. other than that it is very nice.
Close to town. had great service. narrow road up to house so some vehicles may not fit. Would go again. Read more
Thank you for taking time to reviewe our cabin. We will notify the owner of the property about the wallpaper border, and have it repaired or replaced. We are glad you enjoyed your stay with us, and look forward to being your hosts in the future.

The Buckhorn is the perfect getaway. The place is spotless & very well maintained. It is furnished with much attention to detail. Everywhere you look is a reminder of nature & of a real cabin experience; placemats made out of sticks, antler lamps, bear designs & pictures, locally made furniture & crafts. It is completely private with relaxing views from every window & from the front & back porches. (There is a sister property within sight but you will never really notice it). Beds are very comfortable. Management even drains the hot tub completely between each guest!!
Property is in the arts & crafts community which is very nice and is away from the hustle & bustle of Gatlinburg yet close enough if you want to be around people. It is also very convenient to the park. I heard elk bugling from the cabin!
I am a road warrior & stay away from home at least 36 weeks a year. This is by far one of the cleanest places I have ever stayed in. I extended my stay & did not want to leave. The Buckhorn & Jackson MT Homes definitely exceeded my expectations & I can't wait to return to the Buckhorn.

My family and I had a nice stay at Buckhorn this past week. Just a couple of things: The hot tub was off so when we went to get in the water was cold. We had a hard time getting the temp adjusted after that. The upstairs shower didn't drain well and it would have been nice to have had a tv upstairs. These are just little things that didn't ruin our trip in any way, just thought I'd mention them since you sent a survey. Thank you. Read more
Thank you for your comments. We are sorry you had problems with the hot tub, it is always supposed to be on. We will have maintenance check it out. We are glad you enjoyed the balance of your stay.

The Buckhorn is a beautiful cabin and I liked the placement in the woods; it was quite a climb however. It might have been nice to know this ahead of time. It was very clean when we arrived and this was much appreciated.
The layout was nice in view, but hard to work with as the den was on the small side. With no t.v. upstairs, it left four people to sit on one three person couch to watch t.v. together. The chair position next to the t.v. was not helpful. We finally moved it near the couch and this helped.
I had trouble with the jet tub. I never did get it to work. The jets came on for 2 short blasts and not again. I did not call as we were leaving the next day. The cabin is also lacking a spatula, which is needed for cooking most breakfasts.
The hot tub was nice and relaxing. The porches were charming. I really liked the bar-b-cue set up and the picnic table. It was nice and quite. It was also very assesible to Gatlinburg, Pigeon Forge and Sevierville. I also liked being in the Arts and Crafts Loop!
We would use Jackson Mountain Homes again. The service you provided in reserving the cabin, getting us keys, answering questions, etc. was superb! Keep up the good work.
Thank you for your comments, we will check on the jetted tub and install a spatula. We are sorry the layout of the cabin didn't work well for your needs. Although the road getting to Buckhorn is a little sloped, it is considered more gentle compared with other areas in our mountain town. However, once you get to the cabin it is quite level. We are glad you were happy with JMH and when you are ready to return, we will be happy to help you find a better fit!

We have stayed at Jackson Mountain Homes many times without incident. Buckhorn is a lovely home, nicely decorated and just the right size for one or two couples. The photos on the website accurately represent the decor. Sadly we were disappointed to find that Buckhorn was not up to JMH's usual high standards for home maintenance. The home was badly in need of a deep cleaning. We also had a constant battle with lady bugs in the bedrooms. We would consider renting from Jackson Mountain Homes again, but probably not this home. Thank you for your comments! We wanted to let you know the cabin has since been deep cleaned, however, ladybugs are a constant struggle in our area during the Fall and Spring time of the year. We look forward to helping you find the perfect fit on your next vacation.

This was our first vacation to Gatlinburg and was for our 28th Wedding Anniversary. I originally called about a 1 bedroom home but it was unavailable. The sales agent at Jackson Mountain Homes, gave me several options and was very helpful in locating another property. I knew nothing about the area except for what I'd researched on-line. We decided to go with the Buckhorn as we are big log home lovers. It was the perfect home for our week-end getaway and had all the comforts of home. The house was immaculate and the perfect location to get both to Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge. You can even take back roads to get to PF and never have to go through town which we found a plus because of traffic on the parkway. Although it was just the two of us, this house would be perfect for a family also. Two or three couples could even rent if they didn't mind giving up a little privacy. We stayed in the downstairs private room for our stay but the loft bedroom was very large and had it's own private bath the only drawback is that the noise from downstairs traveled up. The hottub was great and even though there was a house next door the cover of the hottub flipped so that there was privacy from that direction. The Buckhorn was also the last of three rental units on that small private road so you had no cars driving in and out to deal with. We loved it and would love to return again with our family.

VERY NICE PLACE, LIKED BE AWAY FROM ALL THE CRAZINESS OF DOWNTOWN, BUT CLOSE ENOUGH TO GROCERY STORE AND DOWNTOWN IF YOU SO CHOOSE TO GO. LOVED THIS UNIT, BEDS VERY COMFORTABLE. AWESOME VIEW AND VERY QUITE. WOULD BE NICE IF THERE WAS A TV IN UPSTAIRS BEDROOM.
