We vacationed there from March 27-March 31, 2013. We were amazed how quiet it was. It was so beautiful, we enjoyed the snow on the mountain tops. We stayed in the cabin for 2 days and then ventured out. We enjoyed this cabin so much, we got the R&R; that we so desperately needed. It was our 33 year anniversary...it was perfect. Highly recommend, would definitely go back if we travel to Gaitlinburg.

We absolutely loved our vacation staying at the Dove's Nest. We actually found that we wanted more time at the cabin than at all the local attractions. In the future, I hope to book this cabin again for us. We really appreciated the staff at Jackson Mountain Homes and have already recommended them to friends for their vacations.

The place was perfect for 2 people. Jackson Mountain office easy to find, easy to get keys, directions. Clean upon arrival. Perfect view of mountains off the back deck. Didn't think it would look like the pictures but it does. King size bed comfortable. Jacuzzi huge. Nice hot tub and rocking chairs on deck. Beautiful fireplace. Near arts and crafts community. Very quiet area. Everything worked. Would loved to have stayed longer. Only thing that I didn't care for was the narrow winding road to cabin. Fortunately only met one car on road at the same time.

There are so many cabins to choose in this area. So i went to trip advisor and got the top rated rental place.
We were not dissapointed. Very nice clean, quiet. Just like the reviews.
Would stay again for sure. Save time and go with Jackson Mountain homes. We did and we were vey happy. -

We wanted to get away for a late celebration of our 40 anniversary. We like outdoor activities, arts and crafts, and having some privacy. This place was perfect. It is close to the arts and crafts community and Gatlinburg. The cabin was secluded, clean, had a hot tub, jaccuzi, and a view I cannot begin to describe. This cabin is a must if you want a romantic getaway. The staff and service was beyond our expectations. In fact we are going back to Blue Herron for another stay, this next week! You must see these cabins to really appreciate them.

I stayed in the Dove's Nest in mid September. The weather was wonderful but with such a great cabin there was really no need to go out. It is very secluded which is perfect for a couple that wants a getaway. My only complaint would be the doors to the bedroom. They didn't close properly so it was impossible to lock the doors. One door had a way to lock it at the stop, but the other couldn't even close properly. But other than that, I thoroughly enjoyed my stay. The place was perfectly clean and I felt right at home!

My new husband and I took part of our honeymoon at Dove's Nest from September 25-28, 2012. We had the best time imaginable there! The view of the mountains nestled in a mass of trees was gorgeous! It was so much fun getting up in the morning, and sitting out on our back deck looking at the mountains while on the computer. We also enjoyed the view while in the hot tub on the back deck! We couldn't have asked for a better cabin in the mountains! We will definitely be coming back again and again! We want to make Dove's Nest a part of our anniversary tradition. We can't wait to come back to our hideaway from home! Thanks so much for having such an awesome place for us to get away to!

This cabin is perfect for the couple who just want to get away and spend some alone time together. The cabin is set up perfectly for two. It is in a quiet area and fairly private. The cabin was very clean and everything worked the way it should.

We stayed at Doves Nest for 5 nights and had such a wonderful, restful time. The reservation process was a piece of cake, we found our keys waiting for us as promised and had great directions to the cabin. It was very clean and looked just like the pictures. I loved being in the arts and Crafts area. We could shop there without getting into the heart of Gatlinburg if we wanted to yet we were close enough to go into town. There was a grocery store close, too. It was a perfect getaway. I'm in love with the porch swings and view of the mountains.

We have always received excellent customer service through Jackson Mt Rentals. We would definitely go through them again for future trips to the Smokies.
The cabin was quaint and had a beautiful view which we requested. It was conveniently located to shopping and other points of interest.
The road leading up to the cabin was a bit on the treacherous side being for one car only and hairpin turns.
The view was spectacular and the only suggestion I would have would be to put a few extra blankets in the closet since the quilt and blanket on the bed were very light weight. -

My wife and I enjoyed this little cabin for a week's getaway trip. It was cozy and about 9 minutes from Gatlinburg. The location was also great because it was off the arts loop and we enjoyed getting fudge several times from a local vendor on the way to and from the cabin.
I was a little concerned because the road up to the cabin was very narrow and steep at points; however, we never met anyone on it so it was never a problem.
The cabin itself was wonderful and very private, with an unobstructed and breathtaking view of the smokies. With a nice king size bed and a crackling fireplace, our only negative was the small bathroom with a comparatively cramped shower. Regardless, we had a great time and we highly recommend the cabin. -

Our first experience with renting a cabin in the Gatlinburg area was truly enjoyable. The rental booking was made easy using the Jackson Mountain Homes website and complemented by the professional staff in their office. The cabin was just off the beaten path and provided the relaxed atmosphere we were looking for. It was within an easy drive to the shops and restaurants we enjoy visiting in the area. The cabin was very clean and well maintained. We enjoyed the view and look forward to our next stay.

Couldn't sleep on the bed the mattress was horrible had to sleep on the couch. I suggest yopu buy better mattress. We were their to enjoy the view and scenery not to go site seeing. So on that note I will not recommend due to sleeping arrangements.

We enjoyed the cabin most of all during our vacation. My wife and I found ourselves wanting to leave the normal tourist stuff and just go back and enjoy the cabin. It was much, much more than we expected. The view, the cabin itself, the cleanliness and the seclusion. Even got to see a black bear walk down the road in front of the cabin one early morning. The road to the cabin is narrow, steep and curvey, don't even think about taking any size trailer up it. We will most definately go back again and again. Make sure you read the guest books on the coffee table. They have good stories and great recommendations of where to go, what to do, and good places to eat.

This was our first time to the Gatlinburg area and what an unforgettable stay. The Dove's Nest exceeded our expectations and we were so thrilled to have had the opportunity to stay at the Dove's Nest. The cabin had everything we could possibly need and was exceptionally clean. The view from the back deck was breathtaking - we also awoke to the same view from our bed each morning. We felt like we were on our honeymoon again - the cabin was very private and serene. We are planning to come back next year and we'll spend most of our time at the cabin - when we are not in the Smoky Mountain National Park. Highly recommend this cabin to anyone looking for a great getaway.
Ps - We never turned on the TV (can't imagine anyone would want to watch TV when the views are so nice). -

The pictures tells the story. This cabin is everything it is advertised to be. It is clean and well maintained. There is plenty of everything from towels to cooking supplies.
The check in process was quick and the staff was friendly and welcoming.
My wife and I stayed there for our 25th wedding anniversary. It is quiet, and private. The view from the hot tub is awesome. I would recommend this cabin to all of my friends.

My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our time at Dove's Nest. It was just what the doctor ordered. A beautiful location up in the mountains, where we could just relax and soak in the beauty of nature all around us.
The stop and shop was only a few miles away, so we bought enough groceries for breakfast and lunch (the kitchen had what we needed) and then we would go into nearby Gatlinburg for some nicer dinners/evening activities.
Everything was clean and Jackson Home was very prepared for our arrival. -

How can we describe this experience?! Everything was perfect. We arrived and the cabin was spotless, cozy, inviting and well stocked with the essentials!! We didn't want to leave. However, we were minutes from Cades Cove. We rented a Jeep (highly recommend) and took off. We spotted a mama bear and her cub, wild turkeys, deer, birds of all size and color. It was beautiful. Our day was full of fun and excitement and when we returned to cabin it felt like coming home! It was like we had managed to wrap up a little piece of home and bring it with us. I highly recommend JMH. My family has rented cabins from them for years!! We have never been disappointed!! Thank you for offering your wonderful service! It's a private, peaceful, quiet setting and after your activities during the day it was a wonderful place to come back to in the evening. The cabin was wonderful- well appointed, extremely comfortable, immaculate, private, and with a breathtaking vista. The hot tub on the porch and the Jacuzzi in the bedroom were great. The Great Smoky Mountains are magnificent. The Dove's Nest is the perfect romantic getaway cabin. The staff of Jackson Mountain couldn't have been nicer or more professional. We had been wanting to get a cabin in the Gatlinburg area and came across Jackson Mountain Homes. We looked at several different services but came back to Jackson.
We looked at their cabins abd were very impressed with the variety, choices and prices we had to choose from. We picked Dove's Nest and made our reservations.
Shortly there after, we received our notification from Jackson Mountain Homes with comfirmation of our trip. We Mapquested directions, but the directions given by the website were the ones we used and very easy to follow.
On our arrival at Jackson Mountain Homes office, we were met by very polite staff. We recieved our packet and information that helped our stay to be very memoriable. The office staff was very helpful and provived us with directions to local places of interest and to a local grocery store close by so we could stock up for our stay.
After following very simply directions, we were at our cabin. Wow! What a place and fantastic view. It was just as it was pictured and promised. We walked in and we knew we had picked the right place for our getaway. The cabin was clean and fresh. The master bedroom was huge and open. The hot tub on the back deck was wonderful. We had all we needed. A fantastic view while just relaxing in the rocking chairs. We stayed for 3 nights and had a wonderful time.
Only holdback to the whole trip was the lack of wildlife, but what can you expect in January. We plan to return to Dove's Nest sometime closer to the summer once the leaves and wildlife have come out.
Thanks for a wonderful time and getaway. We both needed it. We didn't want to go back home.
We have recommended Jackson Mountain Homes to our friends and family members. After showing them the pictures of our trip, they have been looking at cabins to stay in, not motels or hotels.

We enjoyed our stay at the Dove's Nest. It's clean, cozy, quiet, and comfortable. We're only an hour and a half away from Gatlinburg, so we rent a cabin about 4 or 5 times a year for long relaxing week ends. The Dove's Nest would be a cabin that we would rent again.

Dove's Nest is a precious cabin with a beatiful view! We loved the hot tub on the deck overlooking the mountain view, and we also loved the gas fireplace. Dove's Nest has a great front porch with a porch swing, something that I have not come across in other cabins. The cabin was perfect for my husband, my 3 year old son, 3 year old niece, and me since it had a comfortable pull-out couch bed. The first night, the children slept in the pull-out bed, but after that, we decided to let them have the main bed so we could stay up later to watch TV. That worked out fine. The wireless internet came in very handy as well! It was great to stay in a cabin in the arts and Crafts Community and with such a short drive to downtown Gatlinburg. We had a great time!

Overall the "Dove's Nest" was a great place to stay. However, when we got to Gatlinburg, they had gotten over 12 inches of snow the day before. It was extremely difficult getting to our cabin in the mountain and getting down to go into Gatlinburg. Nothing was plowed or salted. But out stay in the cabin itself was wonderful. The travel outside the cabin was not wonderful.

It is a wonderful cabin to stay in. It has all the comforts needed to make our vacation great. The staff is very attentive and they make you feel assured that any thing we need will be taken care of. It is located just far enough out to give us the feel of being in the mountains but not too far out so we can still enjoy the shows and attractions.

We traveled 5 hrs. to be at the Doves nest that was recommened to us. We loved the place. Great view and great feeling you when you first walk in. Love the window in the bedroom that shows the great view when you wake up in the early morning. It was great experience and would go again.

The "Dove's Nest" was just what we needed for two people. Only one thing we would like to see up-graded was to have a lamp or whatever that gave enough light to read by (in the evenings).
We enjoyed the views, the location, and all.
It's too bad you need to "nail" the coffee pot to the wall (to prevent stealing :-)

Jackson Mountain Homes made the reservation process very easy, and Dove's Nest in reality matched it's description and photos perfectly. The house is in very good order; it is clear that the owner takes great pride in it. The view of the mountains was stunning both from inside and from the covered porch on both sides of the house. The kitchen was well-furnished, the fireplace, the hot tub and jacuzzi- even internet service - were all there and perfect. If there was one problem, it was that the cabin was located atop a very steep, winding road, that became unpassable and dangeerous due to snow and ice on the first night. If we hadn't have happened to stock up at the grocery, we would have been without food supplies for nearly two days. While the company cannot control the weather, it should advise anyone renting in the winter to be prepared to be snowed/iced in during their stay.

We arrived oct. 25 and the leaves have changed a little. The next day they had changed even more. The veiw we had from the doves nest was the best. The third day the leaves had started to fall cause our vehicle was covered in leaves. We plan on going back next year and hope the doves nest has an open date at that time. We selected Dove's Nest after looking at Jackson Mountain Homes listing for one bedroom log cabins. We loved the photo of the mountain view off the back deck. We arrived on Wednesday 11/06/09 to pick up our keys and the information packet. We were greeted by friendly and helpful agents at the Jackson home office. We then followed the detailed driving instructions straight to our get away cabin on top of a mountain. We found the cabin to be very neat and clean upon arrival. As we unpacked we found anything and everything that would make our stay convenient and enjoyable. The owners thought of everything imaginable that you would need during your stay from the motion light outside to the rechargeable flashlight inside. All the items needed to cook, clean after yourselves and make your trip memorable was there. The stained glass windows cast a beautiful light during the day and really shown the craftmanship that they were created with. The cabin location is off the traveled road far enough that you really feel remote (even though you really are not - only a short drive to Gatlinburg) and very restful with the views from any window. We loved everything about the cabin and our stay there. The only drawback to staying at a cabin like this I would say is that we could not find any local weather or news on the satelite television. Of course we have stayed at several cabins and they all only have satelite television so this was nothing new to us. So just be prepared to use the printout from the Jackson Homes agent of the weekly weather due to not being able to locate this on the satelite television. So you see really nothing was missed or left out to make our stay a wonderful memory. This is and was the best cabin we have stayed at in Gatlinburg TN - we will be returning for another visit as soon as we can! Next time we are planning on riding our motorcycles up to Gatlinburg TN - we can't wait.

Dove's Nest is a beautiful cabin with amazing views. We have stayed here twice now in the last year, and enjoyed the cabin both times. It is private and perfect for a romantic getaway, and we would highly recommend it.

Dove's Nest was a wonderful place that excluded us from all the the hustle and bustle,that Gatlinburg and pigeon forge attract so well, but close enough to it to allow us access to it with 10 to 15 min. We were a late arrival so we missed the inital greeting but the staff made sure to check on us the next day. The best part of Dove's nest was the overall atmosphere. Your almost completly surrounded by a beautiful view and quiet that allows you to enjoy and engage your mind in any thinking you have to do. I really enjoyed our stay and wouldn't hesistate for a moment to recommend it to someone else.

As always, I was very satisfied with the Jackson Mountain personnel and their desire to be sure we had a wonderful few days. They even tracked me down before I got very far away to let me know I left my hanging bag. The cabin was great, very quiet with a wonderful view, and just right for two people that needed to get away from the daily grind.

I was quite pleased with my stay at the Doves Nest. The cabin had an amazing view of the Mountains. It was relatively easy to get to and from town and the park. The amenities were clean and what you would expect from a mountainside cabin. It was the perfect romantic getaway for a couple.

This was a unique place. We enjoyed it very much. It was quiet and peaceful except for the housing development going up on the road side of Dove's Nest. Understand this is a small place. Would recommend some kind of chair in living room, a light to read by instead of the ceiling light.

THIS PLACE WAS AMAZING, THE CABIN HAD THE BEST VIEW OUT OF ALL OF THEM I BELIEVE AND IT WAS JUST FUN EVEN WHEN IT RAINED REALLY HARD, WE SAT OUT ON THE DECK AND JUST LISTENED TO IT RAIN, AND THE VIEW FROM THE BEDROOM, OH MY GOSH, THAT'S GOD'S COUNTRY FOR SURE. WE GOT MARRIED IN SEVIERVILLE AND STAYED IN GATLINBURG, WE MARRIED ON JULY 4TH, 2009, OUR WEDDING WASN'T WHAT WE EXPECTED, THEY DID A NOT SO GOOD JOB, BUT THE CABIN MADE UP FOR IT. WE WILL BE BACK NEXT YEAR FOR OUR ANNIVERSARY AND WILL BE RENTING 2 CABINS NEXT TIME. THE DOVE'S NEST FOR US AS A COUPLE AND ONE OF THE LARGER ONE'S FOR OUR FAMILY MEMBERS. WE ARE GOING TO HAVE A RE-DO SO TO SPEAK ON OUT ANNIVERSARY AND ALSO WE ARE SURPRISING ONE OF OUR FAMILY MEMBERS WITH A SMALL INTIMATE CEREMONY IN THE BIGGER CABIN BECAUSE THEY WERE MARRIED IN THE COURT HOUSE AND NEVER GOT TO HAVE A WEDDING SO WE THOUGHT WE'D JUST GIVE THEM A LITTLE SURPRISE OF A LIFETIME. We had a wonderful time and the dogwood and view was outstanding.
We would definitely come back. My only suggestion is that you
leave instructions for the TV NBC was the only channel we could get.
Of course we are not technically challenged HA.
Our friends loved it as well and said they would probably visit it
themselves.

My family won a vacation stay at Jackson Mountain Homes (Doves nest).It was a local radio station contest. I was realy suprised at the wonderful acomidations at the Doves Nest, a wonderful veiw and a lovely setting in the mountains,every thing in the home was exactly as it was advertised in the brochure.I realy enjoyed the privacy and quiet atmosphere. My family have inquired about going back this year.I also appriciated the very friendly and acomidating clerk that I spoke with upon arrival. (TANKS) Rick H.

My Husband and I spent 3 days in the Dove's Nest in Gatlinburg, TN. The view from the cabin was awesome. It was very private. We liked everything about the cabin. It is just off the loop of the Art's and Craft area. I really liked the area so the cabin was in an ideal location for me.
We are looking forward to visiting again!

The one thing that impresses me the most with this property is that every picture we viewed online prior to renting, was exactly what we found there. The house was clean and neat and so very well kept. We arrived late at night, and when we woke up that first morning and saw the exact same beautiful view that we fell in love with on the website, it just made the visit that much better. We felt like we were a thousand miles away from civilization, and were able to rest and enjoy the mountains. Will stay there again on our next visit.

We stayed at a little cabin called the Dove's Nest and it was the perfect place for a long weekend getaway. It was high on a mountain the surroundings were beautiful. It was very quiet and the cabin felt like home. I highly recommend renting, and Jackson Mountain personnel couldn't have been nicer.

We went for our 10 yr wedding anniversary. Previously we lived in
Arizona and always went up north to the white mountains for our
anniversaries. We wanted something similar to our experience there.
Jackson homes are real easy to find what you need their website is
great and the people in the office are awesome. Prices perfect. We
wanted something secluded as we don't like the touristy part of town
but do love the arts and crafts loop and the park. While driving there
we couldn't believe how beautiful it was and couldn't believe that our
cabin was where it was. So nice beautiful view especially in the fall.
The interior was perfect, nice amenities awesome hot tub on the porch
facing the view. It has a big jacuzzi tub but once. We preferred the hot
tub and the outdoors. Squirrels were everywhere we looked and the
clean mountain air is exactly what we needed. Jackson Mountain
homes are top notch and we loved our stay!
