We connected with family for Thanksgiving. Gatlinburg is a great halfway point between Chicago and Florida. Kids really enjoyed the checkers, pool and air hockey tables. Kitchen was well stocked to cook there all week. The carpet could use a cleaning and the bathrooms had a sewer smell coming from the toilets. It rained/iced/snowed 2 days and made it difficult to leave cabin due to the very steep driveway. However, they plowed and salted timely which was much appreciated. With the driveway being so steep, there really wasn't a place outside for the kids to play. Read more
Thank you for taking the time to review your recent stay at High Times. We hope you enjoyed your stay and apologize for any problem that you experienced. We will have the carpet assessed for cleaning and the toilets for any odors. We appreciate you bringing this to our attention and your understanding. We hope to see you again soon!

We came for our wedding and couldn't have asked for a more cozy and tranquil place to stay! Loved the hot tub and the decor. The fireplace was also a major plus, felt so warm and inviting! Would highly reccomend to anyone wanting a "get away"! Even saw black bears in the driveway! Overall an amazing weekend/
Nice and clean chalet
Left on 10/08/2013 for a stay in October 2013 | Mike
We enjoyed the chalet as it was very clean and nicely furnished. We have stayed with about every company in Gatlinburg/Pigeon Forge over the years and Jackson Mountain Homes was easy to deal with.
Positives: Very convenient to Gatlinburg on Ski Mountain Road less than 5 minutes from light #10. Very clean chalet. Nice hot tub. Televisions in each room (no flat screens). Nice game room (older smaller air hockey table). Very comfortable beds and furniture. Nice motion light over parking area. Washer and dryer very nice.
Negatives: Picture needs updating or should list as no view. It is densely wooded. Very small single deck that includes the hot tub. One of the steepest drives of any chalet we have stayed. I can't imagine getting up when snowy and being wet would be equally difficult. Small park type grill at bottom of stairs, charcoal. Desperately needs lighting going down the steps it is completely dark and dangerous. Deck light or light over parking area does not help this area.
We don't know if the gas fireplace worked or not. We never could get it on but there were no instructions on how to use the system. Read more
Thank you for taking the time to review your recent stay at High Times. We are happy to hear that you enjoyed it! We appreciate you listing both the positives and negatives of your experience. We do list this cabin as having a winter mountain view (you can see the mountains in the winter once the leaves have fallen from the trees) and we do list in the features that it has a steep driveway (it can be accessed by a small, 2-wheel drive car as long as there is no snow/ice). We will assess the possibility of adding additional lighting. We apologize that the pilot light was out. We have re-lit it and the fireplace is working properly. We appreciate you bringing this to our attention and your understanding. We sincerely hope that you will choose Jackson Mountain Homes again in the future.

Home away From Home

We stayed at High Times during Columbus Day weekend! It is a great cabin and fit out group of 8 perfectly! The kitchen was stocked with plenty of dishware and utensils. The beds were very comfortable. There was a dishwasher, washer, and dryer. The location is close to downtown Gatlinburg and there is a small convient store right down the road. We had a small problem with one of the windows, however Jackson Mountain homes sent a representative to fix it right away!
Make sure the hot tub isn't being repaired before you book

The cabin itself was beautiful! It was just like the pictures and the description. It had everything from home that you could want. Very comfortable. The only downfall was the hot tub, which my 13 year old couldn't wait for. We checked in a couple of hours early and were told the cabin was ready. From previous experience renting cabins, I asked if the hot tub was ready to use amd they said yes. We got to the cabin and it was empty. Apparently, there were known problems and the pump was being fixed. We were able to use the hot tub that night, but, the next day it broke again. Finally, on the third day, we asked to be moved to the cabin next door which also had a hot tub. They moved us immediately and waived any extra cleaning fees, but we still felt a little cheated. Otherwaise, the stay was great.
Perfect Bachelorette's getaway

High times was absolutely perfect for my bachelorette weekend. The staff in the office were informative and helpful. The home was easy to get to. The home was well equipped for cooking and serving large meals (the kitchen table is huge!), and had plenty of things to keep us busy (books, hot tub, air hockey, pool table, music).

A great cabin, plenty of room, lots of fun in the downstairs bedroom (pool table and air hockey), and a pleasant decor. The air hockey table is a little old, but gets the fun done. Also, I liked the fact there were old VHS tapes available, made me feel a bit nostalgic. The fireplace is gas and was tricky, as every time we turned it on, the fire alarm went off, so that was what kept it from a 5-star review. The whole cabin was very clean and felt brand new. Downstairs stays a little cool compared to upstairs, but I liked that. Also, the driveway is very steep. It is close to downtown Gatlinburg and the price is just right. All in all, a great place for a romantic couples weekend or a group of friends or family. Read more
Thank you for taking the time to review your recent stay at High Times. We are happy to hear that you enjoyed the cabin and apologize for any problems that you experienced. We will have the fireplace assessed to make sure that it is working properly. In multi-level cabins, it can be difficult to maintain a balanced temperature throughout all levels. We are glad this was not a problem for you. We agree the driveway is steep, but there is level parking. We appreciate your understanding and hope to see you again soon.

We enjoyed our stay at High Times. It was a vey nice place to stay. Great accommodations, close to downtown and entrance to Great Smokey National Park.
Nice place but too many stairs & horrible driveway
Left on 05/25/2011 for a stay in May 2011 | Happy Couple
Believe what people say about the driveway! Also, it is a shared driveway with "Great Expectations". It is one of the reasons we wouldn't stay here again. The other is all the stairs. The place itself was great, though. The location was perfect, too. Jackson Mtn staff were really friendly and helpful. We'd rent one of their properties again just not this one. Didn't try the hot tub or sit outside due to lots of rain :( Bed was comfortable, couches were comfortable, kitchen was decent size, kitchen table was really long. Wifi worked great after the repairman came out and put in new modem. He came out really quickly, too. Would like more of a mountain view than this place offered and more usable land. Overall a nice experience.
We will be back

The staff was wonderful, the cabin was good for the price cant complain.Only things that could of been better was the driveway and the maintance of the outside (grill was gross) and alot of litter around the deck. I must say the office staff was great! I lived in Sevier County for ten tears and we now visit at least twice a year and we have rented many cabins and the service was so great we will only rent from Jackson MT homes!!

There is nothing bad that I can say about the cabin itself. The drive way was really awkward but once you learn to manuever you shouldn't have a problem. I notice that the heat didn't work downstairs but really wasn't that big of a deal due to warm weather.
Wonderful, Relaxing, fun
our couple getaway
Left on 11/04/2010 for a stay in October 2010 | Wonderful, Relaxing, fun
We enjoyed ourselves thoroughly, although we were unable to use the hot tub because of us doing so much, we had fun in both Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge. At the cabin we did alot of relaxing and enjoying the movies and games. It was very relaxing and tranquil. I would have prefered the hot tub and balcony to be off the living area, but that is a simple fix- rent another Jmh home ;-) The driveway is very steep so be very careful. This was our second time using Jackson Mountain Homes and we will be using them a 3rd time when we go back next year. God Bless!!
A great spring break alternative
Left on 04/14/2010 for a stay in April 2010 | Lanwhitesh
We usually go to the beach every year during spring break, but wanted to do something different this year. Now that the kids are almost out of high school, they wanted to go to Florida by themselves, but I was still not comfortable with that situation. When I showed them the pictures of this cabin, they changed their mind. I took my two sons and several of their friends. The accomodations were perfect! They enjoyed the game room and there was plenty of room for everyone. They would hang out on the strip during the day and shoot pool, and play cards until the wee hours of the night. It was much better than being restricted to a hotel room. The only concern that I had was the steep driveway to get up to the cabin. If you don't have a vehicle with at least front wheel drive, you can't make it up the hill. Other than that, I would recommend this cabin to everyone. Read more
Thank you for your comments. We are happy that you chose to visit us for spring break and that everyone had such a great time! The next time you visit, if you prefer something with a less steep driveway, just let the reservationist know and they will help you find the perfect cabin to meet your needs! We hope to see you again soon!

The cabin was great and look exactly like the picture. Good equipment, extra clean, correct bedding.
The access road is difficult with the snow but he was not a surprise.
Just one problem, the hot tub was not working well. We manage to use it but it was a little hot (110 F).
Overall a very good experience.

I loved the cabin itself but did not like the
driveway. However, the description was honest because
it stated driveway was very steep. Just wish it had a
little more parking room and wasnt as steep. Cabin
itself was great!
GREAT HOUSE-SCARY DRIVEWAY
Left on 07/24/2009 for a stay in July 2009 | JULY VISITORS
WE HAD A FANTASTIC STAY. WE ENJOYED THE HOUSE WITH ALL IT OFFERED; HOWEVER, THE DRIVEWAY WAS A NIGHT MARE. THE DRIVEWAY IS STEEP THEN TURNS @ APPROXIAMETLY 45 DEGREE ANGLE. OUR MINIVAN'S BACK TIRE WOULD LEAVE THE PAVEMENT BY 3" EVERY TIME WE DEPARTED ON THE TURN & THUS ONLY 1 TIRE WAS STOPPING THE VEH. THERE WERE SIX IN OUR PARTY & WE HAD TO WALK TO THE TURN AROUND OR WE WOULD BOTTOM OUT. TO ENTER THE DRIVEWAY WE HAD TO PASS IT THEN TURN AROUND SO THAT WE WOULDN'T BOTTOM OUT. I WAS DISAPPOINTED BY THIS ESPECIALLY SINCE I ASKED IF THE DRIVEWAY WOULD BE A PROBLEM FOR MY SPECIFIC VEHICLE.
YOU NEED TO BE IN GOOD PHYSICAL HEALTH TO MAKE ALL THE STAIRS,INSIDE & OUT, BUT THE HOUSE IS WORTH IT.
PERSONALLY WE WOULD NOT RENT IT AGAIN BECAUSE OF THE DRIVEWAY.
Thank you for your comments - yes the driveway is a challenge and we do have it noted as steep. We are sorry that it impacted your stay. Next time, we will help you find the perfect fit your stay!
4th of July at High Times
Left on 07/22/2009 for a stay in July 2009 | Colleen
We enjoyed our stay at High Times. The cabin was large and laid out well. We were not prepared for the extremely steep, winding driveway (even by mountain standards) and were disappointed to find that a cabin billed as "pet friendly" had no level grass in which to walk pets.
The furnishings, movies, games, etc made our trip great. The house was very comfortable and our kids loved the air hockey and pool table. I loved the internet connection!
In past rentals, we have always found goodies left behind by previous renters - extra trash bags, more toilet paper, a box of dishwasher detergent, salt & pepper, etc, and there was nothing like this at High Times. It was disapointing to have to buy literally every thing we needed!
The cabin is conveniently located on Ski Mountain Road and close to everything - especially the small grocer on Ski Mountain Road which was nice. We didn't use the pool or community center but we enjoyed the hot tub on the deck nightly.
Overall, we rate this cabin as 7 out of 10 stars. We will definitely be back to Jackson Mountain Rentals but would probably chose another cabin for a change of pace.
Good times at High Times!

We drove up from Florida with our 10 year old daughter and our dog. Two other couples came from Indiana and we stayed at the cabin for a week. It was clean, roomy and the kitchen was the very well appointed with all that we needed.
The kids enjoyed the pool table and air hockey and we all enjoyed playing games and just being together.
The cabin is very close to Gatlinburg and the Park. We did lots of hiking and sightseeing.
We had two bears visit us one day! They came down the hill and after checking out our porch, went down and tried to get our trash.
The only issue we had was the heating element for the hot tub was not working. We called the office and someone was there within a few hours and we were good to go.
We would definitely recommend Jackson Mountain Homes to our friends and will contact them if we visit the area again.

After we got up the steep drive (it was raining so roadway was slick and scary), we had a GREAT time. It was especially nice that we were able to bring our English Bulldog, Buddy to be with our family. The cabin was EXCEPTIONAL for our family. I would recommend to anyone.

I decided to choose Jackson Mtn. Homes because of the excellent service I received when inquiring about ammenities. They were so helpful, I book my vacation right then. Our Thanksgiving was awesome and memorable. 7 adults and 3 children slept comfortably. It was really cold down stairs, so we did have to turn the heat up to warm it, leaving the upstairs pretty warm. The only other draw back was the steep driveway with a 90 degree right turn at the top to park for this cabin. That was a scary challange, but one we mastered none the less. A concrete drive would give more traction in comparrison to asphault. The staff was very helpful and came quickly to light the pilot on the fireplace when it went out. I love this cabin experience and would stay again in a Jackson Mtn. Home. This cabin has a very convienent access road from the east side of Gatlinburg, right next to the Smoky Mountain National Park and walking for everything downtown was easy- we just parked and walked. The cabin was tastefully decorated and so comfy and cozy. We actually played games and had plenty of tv's to watch football, play the Wii and watch movies- everyone was happy. This was the longest time we had stayed together as a group and just had fun and relaxed.
Peaceful - great location

Our family had an enjoyable and wonderful experience staying at High Times. Everything was available and ready for occupancy as advertised on the web site. The location was close but not too close to downtown.
Check-in was quick and courteous - no delays, package with keys and local information was prepared and ready for pickup.
We're planning another trip to Gatlinburg this year.
