My family and I enjoyed our stay in the sparkling waters cabin. The cabin was very nice and we enjoyed the air hockey and pool tables. The only thing that would have made our stay better would have been wi fi access and a better cable package on the television. Television was extremely limited and it was very hard to get a signal on the phone. Wi fi access would have been a definite perk! Read more
Thank you for taking the time to review your stay at Sparkling Waters. We are happy to hear that you enjoyed your stay! We are pleased to say that the new owner of this cabin has now upgraded the televisions to flat panel HDTVs, improved the number of channels by adding DirecTV Choice Package, 2013 NFL Sunday Ticket Max & local channels and added wireless internet. The cabin was nice. Wish there had been a swing or rockers on the top porch to enjoy visiting with others in the hot tub. Kids enjoyed the stream and other kids nearby to play with. Some of the linens were a little worn. Other than that we had no complaints. Very convenient location between Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg. Easy access to both of those and the Gatlinburg Bypass to the National Park.

We stayed in this cabin for 9 nights. This cabin is close to other cabins. We didn't have anyone in the cabin next to us or behind us, only at the lodge across the creek but that was no problem. 2 Cabins down (the one identical) was being worked on everyday and sometimes someone spent the night but that was no problem either. Location was great. Of course every time you come back to the cabin from Gatlinburg you had to drive to Pigeon Forge and turn around but we got used to it! After reading the reviews I brought an extra towel to hand on the entrance door, that's just creepy to know anyone can come to the door and look in. There's no window coverage on the back of the house but it faces woods on a steep mountain. Bought batteries to put in the fooseball table to keep score but it didn't work. There was a used washed cloth hanging on the shower upstairs :( We had to clean off the porch lots of dust and spider webs to be able to sit in the chairs.
The shower heads spray wide but whatever it's not my house!
The bed is comfortable but too close to the bathroom you have to watch your hip that you don't hit it or hit the frame getting in and out of the bed. The hot tub was nice, ended up buying our own when we got back home! Thought there was a gas grill? not! The ice maker does not work so I filled the trays made ice and dumped it in the bin and made more.
The creek is so nice to listen too and it rained so we ended up with a little chocolate river which was cool...

Cabin was very nice and clean. Great location just off the parkway between Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg. Good amenities and loved the looks and sound of the stream flowing by just outside the door. Not a very good view and needs blinds over the kitchen door for some privacy and a larger hot water heater.
Overall a very good experience!

The cabin was wonderful...Very clean and peacefull. Even though there was cabins near, you never really knew anyone was around.
I was disappointed that the jets in the jacuzzi did not work on one side but everything else about the cabin made that seem like nothing. We hated to leave. Everytime we opened the back door it made us feel like it was raining but it was actually the creek! The sheets were clean and the bed slept great.
Would advise anyone to stay at this cabin!

Beautiful cabin but be aware of the location

First off, the cabin was top-notch. We were very happy with the living space and the decoration.
Secondly, if you are after the beautiful sprawling Gatlinburg view, this isn't the cabin for you. You are about 1 minute outside of Pigeon Forge and basically in the ditch between 2 mountains.
Third, you are sharing a space with some neighbors on all 3 sides of you (left, right, behind) so that is something to consider.
Great place, questionable location, good experience.
Perfect place to unwind, relax and enjoy fall in the Smokies.

The folks at Jackson Mountain Homes were very accomodating and easy to work with. We required a unit that was dog friendly and offered a firm mattress in the master bedroom.
Shortly after our arrival for our week-long stay in Sparkling Waters, we noticed that we could not get the TV to work. When we called the office we were able to schedule a time for someone to come out to remedy the situation, which he did.
The cabin was very neat and clean, furnishings were well cared for, and the back porch overlooking the stream and the woods provided a wonderful setting in which to enjoy my early morning cup of coffee.
We really enjoyed our first fall visit in this area, as we our yearly visits have been in the spring.

The bedrooms need darker blinds. The white plastic blinds that are on the windows do absolutely nothing to stop light from coming in...including the security lights in the parking area and neighbor's porch lights. It was very hard to fall asleep and stay asleep.
In addition to that, screens on the back porches would have been great! To be able to leave the door open to hear the creek without being worried about letting insects in would have been very relaxing...as would being able to hear our children playing outside, so we didn't have to "hover". :)
We have been staying in Jackson Mountain Homes for the past 10 to 12 years and this was the first time that we found the home to have a "rental" feel to it...lacking the "home-y" feel that your other rentals offer. We really got the impression that this property was strictly used for rentals and wasn't a cabin that the property owners spent any significant time in. (Hence the problems I noted above).
The location, however, was perfect!!! Being between Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge offered the best of both worlds!! :) And the mattress in the master bedroom was absolutely Devine!!! It was incredibly comfortable!! With a darker room it would have been fantastic!
We will definately be returning to Jackson Mountain rentals, and would even stay in that cabin again...but would love, love, love to see those changes made!!
Thank you for requesting our feedback! We can't wait to return to the Smokies!!

Beautiful cabin, romantic weekend. The only thing I didn't like is that you have to drive a ways into Gatlinburg just to check in and then turn around and go back down almost into Pigeon Forge to go to the cabin. Wish they'd just do everything online and give you the code on day of arrival to go straight to your cabin.
Nice Cabin, But Expect Neighbors
Left on 04/26/2012 for a stay in April 2012 | Daniel M
This cabin was very spacious, clean, and comfortable. Furniture is nice, king size bed is comfortable. Had many features of a luxury cabin, including its own pool table.
The cabin is located on a small stream - its too shallow to fish in, but if you go in the summer, I'm sure the kids would love to play in it - I know mine wanted too!
The only thing negative I can say about this cabin is its proximity to other cabins. There are 5 or 6 cabins (nearly identical in appearance) packed right next to one another, which detracts from the experience of having a peaceful mountain getaway. The pictures on the site are misleading, making it appear as if you will have the only cabin around. But if you don't mind having others right next door than this is the perfect cabin.

This cabin rental is fantastic! We were a party of three (two adults and one child) and it was perfect for our stay. While other cabins are in the immediate vicinity, there wasn't many others around during the week when we stayed and it was like a private oasis with Caney Creek running near the cabin with a nice grassy area adjoining the cabin. Everything in the cabin was nice too. Pots and pans with utensils were provided along with linens. The hot tub was clean and the games were fun, especially the pool table! We loved the comfortable furniture and the DVD equipment worked well. The only advice we have for the next guest is to bring your own Wifi connection if you need internet access during your stay and also bring all of the necessities for your personal life-style such as coffee filters for the coffee maker, spices for cooking, etc... We will definitely consider this place again for future rentals!

We really loved this cabin! The kids had their private adventures in the creek and I could see them from the kitchen window! At night we did see some fireflies, a first for them. Very close to both Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge, less than 15 min to each. Wish the porch view was a bit nicer, lots of fallen trees (and a beer can I think was used for target practice!)and a huge wasp nest above the hot tub scared the kids, maybe consider screening a portion of porch to decrease bugs in summer? If you want alot of privacy this is not for you, cabins are close together but we dont like to be isolated so it was ok for us! Neighbors were quiet, no problems there.. Cabin was clean, beautiful wood throughout and the game room was fantastic! Lots of space for family of 4 who does not need alot of separation-kids slept together upstairs and we had master bedroom downstairs. No mountain view which we may consider next time for variety. I would recommend this cabin without hesitation, it was perfect for us (and the dog too!!)

The cabin was nice but not as private as we hoped. We knew that there were cabins close, but we didn't know that we had a cabin right behind us. Also, I would have felt more comfortable if that cabin had more blinds. The layout of the cabin was great and allowed us to relax and enjoy the creek. However, I think the area has had a recent storm and there was a tree in the creek that had not been cleaned up yet. The sound of the creek was very nice. We also had a little ant problem. All in all it was a great little cabin, and its location was nice.

We took a weekend trip and it was the perfect getaway. We have stayed at Jackson Mountain before and recommend them to our friends. The service is always friendly and the cabins are always clean. It is a huge plus that we can bring our family dog as well. The only complaint I had about this particular cabin is that it was so close to many other cabins. The website showed many other cabins available and I wish she would have told us about that when she called to confirm our reservation. We would have wanted to switch to a more private setting. The location of the cabin was super convenient, right between pigeon forge and gatlinburg.

In a quiet valley, away from the bright lights and busy roads. Huge windows and two large back porches right over a stream and facing a steep, wooded bluff makes this place serene and relaxing.

My wife and I stayed in Sparkling Waters for 3 nights. The cabin was great for a really good value. It included a sizable "master bedroom" with its own bath, as well as a large living room and a very nice playroom on the second level that included a pool table, air hockey table, and checkers. There was plenty of room for just the two of us, but the cabin could accommidate a family function or two couples that would want to travel together. The cabin is located in between Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg, so it is very easy to get around to all the attractions. My only complaints for the cabin would be the terrible showerheads (they sprayed everywhere except on me) and that only 2 jacuzzi jets in the indoor tub worked. All in all it was a great experience. Thank you for your comments. We are happy to hear that you had a great experience at Sparkling Waters. We will have the showerheads assessed for replacement and the jacuzzi jets for repair. Nice area, good location close to Gatlinburg, Pigeon Forge and Park entrance. Cabin was nice and clean. Website description and pictures were accurate so no suprises. Thought the extra fee for pets was high.

The cabin was very nice, clean and comfortable. The only reason I didn't give location 5 stars is because there were quite a few other cabins close by(but I knew that before we went). Most of the week the other cabins were empty and when there were people they were not noisy. I especially enjoyed sitting on the deck in the mornings with a cup of coffee, listening to the creek. For the 2 of us, it was the perfect size.

They even called the morning after we checked in to see how we were doing. The only draw back to the home is with the amenities. It was a very important for my husband and myself to get away from the all the stress and knowns for a few days. It has been a very stressful 2009 for us that actually began back in December of 2008. My husbands mother passed away very inxpectedly, on December 26th. This was very hard on all of us. My mother-n-law was a wonderful Christian Woman that was loved dearly by her all of her childern. From the time I met her she never treated me as a "daughternlaw" but as a daughter, she was the same with her son-n-laws. She is missed greatly. Then is Arpil we were forced to sell our home to Duke Power and move. We are still in the process of this very stressful situation. This trip was a very needed for us to have some down time and in a way regroup so we could figure out what we needed to do next. Thank you very much for that experience. The cabin was wonderful. This was our first time renting a cabin anywhere. It was so enjoyable coming back to a home rather than a small hotel room. The furniture, games, and all of the other household items realy added to our overall vacation experience. We would spend the days in the mountains and Gatlinburg and come home to a host of activities including air hockey pool and my son's favorite, the hot tub.
I would certainly recommend spending a little more money for a cabin over a hotel anyday. Jackson Mountain Homes handled the reservations flawlessly and were very professional. I will book from them again in the future.

We had all the comforts of home there. The only down side was that the hot tub was noisy when the blower would run (even when we weren't using it). Everything was extremely nice. The only things we did not really care for was the easy code to get in the house. Granted the code was two seperate numbers it ended up being on the same button. So anyone could enter by pressing the same button four times.
Another thing that kind of put a damper on things was having to drive back into Pigeon Forge and making a U-Turn to come back towards Gatlinburg. The area the cabin was in was beautiful, but the extra mileage everytime you left the cabin wasn't so nice.
I will always recommend Jackson Mountain to whom ever is going to the Smokies as all of our stays the past four years have been great. The cabins have everything you need and are always neat , clean and up to date.

Sparkling Waters was a great house for a weekend getaway. This was our third time in the area and the other two times we stayed in town in Gatlinburg. We wanted a more private place and Sparkling Waters was exactly what we were looking for. It was still a short drive to town but we felt pretty secluded. There were a few property's that you could see but we were not bothered by them. The house seemed new and was very nice and clean. The wall of windows in the back was great to look out of when on the second level. We enjoyed playing pool and soaking in the hot tub. It was a great weekend getaway. Jackson Mountain rentals was a great company to rent from and we will definetely rent from them again in the future.
