This rental is perfect for many couples or a large family. With 5 bedrooms and 5 full bathrooms there is lots of privacy for everyone. The kitchen is well stocked for those who want to cook, and the hot tubs are great for relaxing. I also liked that the parking is right in front, no steps to climb. We saw a bear down the road but none at our cabin. We had a wonderful time.

We stayed at the Starry Nights Lodge Feb 21 & 22. This was a very nice place to stay with each family having their own private room. Every room opened up to a breathtaking view of the Smoky Mountians from the deck. We also enjoyed relaxation time in one or both hot tubs. Our kids enjoyed this most of course! This cabin was a bit difficult to find with many 0.2 - 0.5 mile turns; some turns very steep. (Follow your updated Iphone map and it will take you right there!!) The Gatlinburg bypass was a gorgeous drive this time year. Get lots of pictures! Luckily, we reserved on a weekend after the big snow that hit Gatlinburg! Otherwise, getting to our cabin would have been super difficult. My particular Ron's DVD player did not work for my young boys, but JMH were very courteous to have this fixed. We could only park 7 vehicles at this cabin for future prospects. Overall, we would go with JMH again!

We had an amazing 1st time in Gatlinburg, TN our cabin was in the best location anyone could imagine, great views of the mountains and ski slopes. Pictures of the house do no justice, this house was super big, extremely clean and every single room had a bathroom in it, we cannot wait till the next time we go to TN and will be staying at the same cabin once again. Thanks for the memories TN...

We were there the Thanksgiving week. Definitely the highest price time to go but was well worth it. This was a Smokey Mountain family Thanksgiving. We had each of our kids / grandkids with us - total of 10 and two dogs. Each family had their own floor- that was perfect when the little ones need to go to bed. The main floor was very nice with a very cozy fireplace that the kids loved. The table was great that we could fit all 10 around for Thanksgiving dinner. When we got there, it was very cloudy- lots of low clouds, so could not see the view. Well, the next morning, it was sunny and wooow what a view- spectacular. We had an unexpected guest on Wednesday- about 3" of snow. That was spectacular- all the snow on all the trees was magnificent. We stayed in that day and actually did Thanksgiving dinner on Wednesday. They do a great job of clearing road and even though there was still snow on Thursday and Friday, the roads were clear. This is a place we would stay again. You will return with many pictures and great memories.

4 day weekend for our family of 3 married childre and my parents. Quick response with initial inquiry. Beautiful view of the Smokies and the lights of downtown Gatlinburg. Adequate parking for 5 cars, 5 bedrooms with baths, 2 balconies, two hot tubs, stocked kitchen appliances. We took family pics on lower deck for Christmas cards. Relaxing, quiet, clean, homey, did I say perfect!!!???
Thank You. Will stay here again as long as my mother can go up and down steps to bedroom. No bedroom on first floor only wish.

There were 11 in our extended family that stayed at Starry Nights for a long weekend. Everyone was very happy with having their own bedroom and bathroom. The two youngest kids loved staying in the beds with the pool table. The two hot tubs were used most every evening.
On our first evening 3 bears showed up on the porch and mauled an empty fabric cooler. The second night one of us was scared silly while taking off the hot tub cover on the main floor as around the corner walked a bear onto the porch! After they moved off we all enjoyed taking photos from afar. The moral of the story is keep the doors shut/locked and keep an eye out.
Make sure to take laundry detergent, dish soap, dishwasher soap, paper towels and trash bags. Coffee filters too.
The drive up to the cabin was breath-taking literally! If you follow the directions provided by the check-in office it's less intense!
We would go back again. Our favorite part was sitting on the porch (rockers and swing) taking in the magnificent view and everyone eating together and playing games at the dining table for 10.

Your cabin is amazing, the view was out of this world, the decor is truley mountain, we had 5 couples, there was plenty of room for us all in the living room and kitchen when we were preparing the meals, the decks were our special place, we all gathered there every evening and morning for the sunsets and rises. We will stay at this chalet again, the house was very clean and beautiful. Thank you for allowing us to stay there.

We had a group of 14 (11 adults, 3 children) who stayed here quite comfortably. The house is wonderful- very clean, nicely decorated, and had loads of amenities. We enjoyed the hot tubs- both of them, the game table, the grill, the 2 levels of decks. Everyone commented on how great, clean and roomy the house was. Every bed room has a bathroom an tv!
The best part- absolutely the best view!
It rained during our stay- which was even more perfect to enjoy from the hot tubs on the porch.
Our friend had a dog, so extra points for being a pet friendly property! The only downside is there is no lawn at all- house is on a steep hill, so be aware for kids, elders, and pets.
The house is not far from downtown gatlinburg, but it feels like another world. It's a curving, twisty road to travel to get there, so be warned to be careful an have a good co-pilot to help navigate your way.
Jackson Mountian Homes is going to be my go-to rental company for all future excursions to the Smokies!

We loved our stay at the Starry Nights Lodge. The view was amazing from anywhere on either deck and it changed based of the weather or time of day so it never gets old (I attached photos all taken from approx. the same spot on the deck). There were 14 of us in total and we never felt cramped although we did spend a lot of time in Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge during our week long stay so we weren't in the cabin 24/7. You will not run out of things to do in the area, but I should mention at first it seems like a bit of a drive up and down the mountain when going into Gatlinburg or Pigeon Forge. Still, I liked having our getaway to go back to and the views made it worth the drive. I will say the drive is a little overwhelming at first, but once you adjust its a pretty quick trip.
As far a vehicles go you can easily fit up to five decent size cars. We had four cars in our group, two Suv's and two mini-vans with room to spare.
If I had any recommendations for the owner it would be to update the bedding. Some nicer blankets/comforters would just give the whole thing a more homey feel.
We used the grill more than once to make dinner and saved a lot of money by eating a number of meals in the cabin. One word of caution; if you are bringing any dogs with you, there is not a lot of area to walk them since the cabin is built on the side of the mountain. Just a small patch of grass in front of the cabin. Also, one morning my husband took the dog out the front, walked around the car, and was face to face with a bear so be careful (not our only bear sighting). Make sure you latch the garbage containers to keep the bears out because we accidently didn't one night and spent the next morning picking up three bags of trash off the road and mountain side. All part of the experience which I highly recommend it!!
Nice Family Vacation
Left on 07/25/2013 for a stay in July 2013 | Adam
Interior of Starry Nights was well appointed. The layout was quite nice in that there was ample room for 3 adult couples and 4 children. The place actually has 5-1/2 baths, though advertised as 4-1/2.
The view from the deck is great, and our grandchildren had a lot of fun watching the Ober Gatlinburg cable car.
The first night, it was truly a 'Starry Night' as we could clearly see the Milky Way. I texted my daughter to bring her telescope, which she did. However, it was cloudy for the remainder of our visit. If a group is staying when weather is clear and there is an interest in star gazing, bring a telescope.
We were disappointed in the ventilation of Starry Nights. First, the windows are fixed glass and cannot be opened. There are no screen doors, so when the doors were opened, there were some insects. The week we stayed was relatively cool, and it would have been nice to enjoy the mountain air instead of constant air conditioning that was for the most part unnecessary.
Also, the kitchen hood is not vented to the outside. Instead, it recirculates cooking heat and odors back into the house. As we prepared nearly all of our meals at Starry Nights, this necessitated us opening the doors for ventilation in spite of there being no screens.
Doing most of our cooking at Starry Nights, we noted the kitchen supplies were ample. There were plenty of plates, tableware & drinking glasses & cups, including wine glasses. Lacking were any hot pads to handle pots & pans and put on the table to protect it.
Maintenance was a bit lacking, as several of the deck lights were not working. We purchased light bulbs, but this was not the problem. Jackson sent a maintenance man to check, but he said an electrician was necessary, and one could not arrive until after we had departed.
Overall, it was a very pleasant stay.

Starry Nights Lodge was better than we expected. The lodge is neat, clean and well appointed. The view is spectacular. Everyone enjoyed the spaciousness of their rooms and access to the decks. The large dining room table allowed everyone to have a seat for our meals. We really appreciated being up on the mountain away from the congestion in downtown Gatlinburg. We had young children, teenagers, young adults and older adults. Everyone enjoyed their stay. Starry Nights is a thoughtfully designed home. We loved it. Thank you very much.

We stayed 4 nights at the Starry Nights Lodge, and it was the perfect spot for our extended family vacation. At the last minute additional cousins decided to join us, and Jackson Mountain Homes was able to find an additional suitable cabin close by. This cabin was close enough to Gatlinburg but also far enough. We had a spectacular view of the mountain from our deck (where w spent most of our time when home). We had a problem with one of the televisions, and the maintenance crew responded immediately. It turned out someone had mixed up the wires - so it wasn't even a real problem. Staff was friendly and helpful.

As soon as we walked into the cabin we knew it would be an amazing weekend! Three couples stayed, we had our own parts of the cabin. Each bedroom has a private bath, the decor is gorgeous and the view just breath taking! Everything was clean and I couldnt have designed the cabin better myself. it was 90% perfect. I say 90% because the dryer was not working at all so we had to leave with a bag of wet clothes. also the outside had a few beer cans left from previous renters. and the pool table ( which we were looking forward to using ) was broken. Customer service was helpful. Check in easy and cabin location was the best possible. I've stayed in many chalets in the area, and even with the minor errors, this one by far is the best!

After a quite steep, winding climb up to Starry Nights Lodge, the view was well worth the trip. Located with a view of Gatlinburg, as well as the Gatlinburg Tram going and coming from Obergatlinburg, the photo ops were endless. The cabin itself had everything we needed... beautifully furnished, spacious accommodations; ample parking; comfortable, soft beds; and a large TV with excellent picture. We also appreciate the fact that there was a Bible in the house...always good reading. :-)

The lodge was actually better than represented. We had an issue with the stove top and someone came and fixed it immediately. Everything worked, the view was incredible. Access to Gatlinburg and Seviervill was easy and the kids enjoyed the clubhouse pools on the hot days.

The view from the balconies were the best I have ever seen !!! And the Bears were amazing. We must have seen at least 2 or 3 everyday...Cool Huh... The cabin was a little small for 10 adults, but workable... Limited seating in the living room but beautifully decorated. This cabin is a wonderful retreat for anyone at anytime.. Be advised that if you rent this cabin during the winter come with chains and a 4wheel drive... You will absolutely love the company, the home, and the location. No question about it...Did we mention that the view was unbelievable and the Bears Bears Bears!!! :)

This was our first stay at Starry Nights...It was one of the nicest cabins and a great place for a large family and grand kids. It is huge. The cabin was very quaint and extremely well furnished. It was so nice waking up and sitting on the deck overlooking the Smokies. The location of this cabin was great too. It wasn't too far up the mountain. we will be back in the spring. This cabin is pet friendly, but I will say, this cabin has no grassy yard and you will have to walk your dog on a leash along the side of the road. No big deal for us. The only bad thing that I have to say, is that we only 3 days to enjoy it. Great cabin for a long term stay. If you don't need such a big cabin, we stay at Red Heaven, another one of Jackson Mountain Homes rentals. I will say that it is up on top of the mountain, but the view their is breath taking. If you go during the right time of year, you will get a glimpse or two of a black bear... Thanks, Jackson Mountain Homes...You are the best !!!

Starry nights is very beautiful place, we enjoyed the overall stay in the cabin home, the location and views from the deck. The cabin needs some maintenance and the kitchen can be improved with cutlery, we faced trouble with the stove, dishwasher and locked out one time due to an issue with the key less system, but the Jackson homes staff responded immediately and helped us to get in. There is a dvd player but it is not connected to the TV, so we could not played children's favorite movies but kids had lot of fun time with the pool table and air hockey system on the upper floor.
Overall our family had a memorable vacation time here, we really enjoyed driving all the way up on the ski mountain to reach the cabin, one morning we spotted bares from deck, they were playing down in the valley and its was like a safari view. Read more

We really enjoyed our stay at Starry Nights Lodge. The JMH staff were awesome. Our two biggest issues were that the garbage bins outside weren't lockable and the bears kept getting in strewing garbage all over the driveway and street. Cleaning up garbage is not something we enjoy doing. Also, the owners may want to hire a new cleaning company. There was a dirty spot on the floor in the living room under one of the chairs where a previous renter spilled something and the cleaning crew never cleaned it and it was black from dust and dirt. There were dust bunnies all under the furniture. And there was mold & mildew on our shower curtain. Read more
Thank you for your comments. We are happy to hear that you enjoyed your stay and apologize for any inconvenience you experienced. We will have someone assess the outside trash containers for a way to secure them and also replace the shower curtain. We will make sure the housekeepers clean under the furniture and apologize that they overlooked that. This was a great vacation. The on-line booking procedure was efficient, their staff is immediately responsive & very helpful with any questions or problems either via e-mail or their 800#. We also had a few issues at the cabin & they responded very quickly. Check-in was easy & directions to the cabin were very clear. There were many turns to Starry Night (which was at the top of Ski Mt.). We managed it easily. The Lodge has everything you need, however, we were a group of 12 and there was a shortage of plates & bowls to accommodate 12. There were plenty of coffee cups, glasses, silverware, & a variety of cookware. The lodge was well organized, pretty clean (windows & blindes were quite dusty) & very comfortable with separate thermostats on all 3 floors. If you have a large group this place is perfect. It has 5 bedrms and each bedrm has it's own bathroom. We did lots of motorcycling so we weren't at the cabin for the majority of the day but if the weather had been bad we would've been stuck at the lodge. Being stuck at the cabin wouldn't have been a bad thing though. There is plenty of entertainment in the cabin; Tv's, air hockey & pool table, (which we never used), 2 hot tubs & books & pamphlets to read on the area. My favorite pass-time was just gazing out at the view on 1 of the 2 wrap around decks. If we go that direction again I would not hesitate to contact Jackson Mountain Homes for a cabin. And if our group is as big as it was this time I would also stay at the Starry Night Lodge. My only tip is, check the place over for damages & report them all upon check in. Unfortunately, we didn't. They contacted me after we got back home & said there was a broken piece on the air Hockey Table. I never noticed it but only because we never used the table. I don't know if we will be charged or not at this point. The issue has not been resolved but it has been discussed very calmly, courteously and professionally.

Our stay at Starry Nights Lodge was a wonderful experience. In past years we have always stayed at the same cabin when visiting Gatlinburg and this year we were unable to locate the cabin so we had to search for a new cabin to stay in. I searched the internet and came across Starry Nights and at first was really sceptical about staying in a new cabin. I would just have to say that our stay at Starry Nights surpassed our previouse visits to Gatlinburg. The cabin was EXCELLENT! Everything that we needed was right at our finger tips!

Office staff was very nice and called to make sure everything went well (it was the weekend that we had a big snowfall). There were a couple of things that could have been added to our visit. We ran out of trashbags and dishwashing detergent for the dishwasher. We also could have used more towels. There were 11 people at the cabin and we were there for 3 days, since it snowed all weekend we spent a lot of time at the cabin, which is probably why we ran out of a few things.
We still had a great visit and just purchased the items that we ran out of. Just thought it may help in the future.
Everyone was great, thanks so much.

A friendly racoon led us to believe someone before us has fed him there or nearby and a very experienced bear opened our trash container twice in one night. We would not hesitate to return. Your willingness to rent for less than a week over Thanksgiving was what made it possible for us to be there. Thank you for a great stay.

Stay at Starry nights lodge is excellelent. We stayed there for two days with five familes. Facilities are good and no complaints. Mountain view is good and inside facilities are excellent.
All apart, this is our first visit to gatlineburg. Hence we do not have the experience of other lodges/cabins, but this cabin/lodge for us is the best one.

"Of all the different companies from which we have rented cabins and chalets in Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge over the past 20 years, Jackson Mountain Homes is, without a doubt, the premier cabin rental agency in the Smoky Mountains. We found the cabin we rented, Starry Nights Lodge, to be exceptionally clean, very roomy, tastefully decorated and certainly well-appointed to accommodate our extended family of nine people. Moreover, the cabin was designed to offer breath-taking and stunning views of Mount LeConte and the Gatlinburg valley. But perhaps most important, the entire staff of Jackson Mountain Homes was quite congenial, very gracious and extraordinarily efficient, not only in finalizing our reservations but working to ensure that our stay was enjoyable and entirely hassle-free. It was like having someone from our own family plan and manage our stay. Without exception each staff member with whom we spoke acted more like a concierge than a simple front desk hotel clerk. Jackson Mountain Homes certainly deserves a five-star rating. We recommend them above all other cabin and chalet management agencies. Give them a try... you won't be disappointed."

We were very impressed with this cabin. There were 12 of us going, so we were a little afraid of the space before ariving. After we got there however, we immediately saw there was plenty of room for all of us and some to spare. We would definitely stay there again.

Jackson Mountain Homes gives nice friendly service. We have rented from them for several years. Starry Nights Lodge has a wonderful mtn view and is very nicely decorated. Comfortable living room furniture. The beds were very comfortable as well. Our family enjoyed both decks, hot tubs, view. We all had our own privacy if we liked. We had fun grilling outside or cooking inside. It was nice to relax and enjoy the serene views on the decks anytime of day. We certainly had a great time and would love to come again. We also got to see a bear while we were there too. It was very exciting!

This was an excellent home. Everything worked well. Great view, you can watch the tram top clear the peak. Great decoration accents, made you feel you were away from it all. Layout was wonderful. Plenty of space for eveyone. Location is quite away up the mountain, only it is worth the drive.
This was our 17 yr. getting together with old friends and this was one of our favorite units.
Fabulous Mountain Retreat!

This was the perfect "home base" to explore the Smokey Mountain State Park and the city of Gatlinburg. All the amenities one could ask for and a tremendous view from the deck. Jackson Mountain Homes was very professional in the handling our our reservation and check-in/check-out process. Highly recommend this rental company/property!
Great Cabin for Adults to Meet

My family and I wanted to take a trip to the mountains and spend a little time together. We chose this cabin because we are all grown ups with no kids. This cabin gave each couple their own private bedroom and bathroom. We all had a great time and spents lots of time at the cabin due to the weather. We are all hoping we get the chance to do it again this year.
Great views and space in the home

The cabin was GREAT especially for 5 couples because we each had our own bath and space to relax. However, upon arrival the keyless entry was a pain because the battery was going dead and it took us forever to get in the cabin. We had to call the after hours service to help us unlock the door. Maintenance came that next day and changed the battery. The cabin itself was great and decorated very nicely(updated with modern technology). If you are afraid of heights or want to stay CLOSE to downtown, do not get this cabin because it is HIGH on the mountain(the view was diagnal to OBER SKI LODGE...WONDERFUL). It is, HOWEVER, very close to the cabin next door because on our deck you could see everything we were doing from the other cabin and vice versa. VERY RELAXING STAY AND WE REALLY ENJOYED OURSELVES.
