This beautiful, spacious, light-filled apartment has 2 double bedrooms, 1 single bedroom which doubles as an office, and 2 baths, and sleeps 5 people comfortably (+ a futon for 6 total.) It has a covered terrace for dining and a sun terrace with 4 sunbeds. The terraces have magnificent views of the countryside, Gibraltar, the Straits, and Africa. The decoration throughout is blue and white. There are 5 skylights in the unit for exceptional luminosity. This new lodging has a pool, garage, internet and the BBC satellite. It can be rented with the Toro apartment, located across a patio, for larger groups --- up to 10 people.

Bedrooms 1 & 2... have views over the landscape, Gibraltar, Straits, and Africa, and both have en suite bathrooms. The linens are of the highest quality. Both bedrooms have airconditioning and heat. The bathrooms both have underfloor heatING, a window to the outside and a skylight to make them luminous.

Gaucin is a walkers´ paradise in the mountains of Ronda; there are over 150 marked walks and several mountains to climb. There are some very challenging walks but the valleys, river beds, cork and pine forests are less strenuous. During the off-season there are two scheduled group walks per week.

Gaucin borders 2 national Parks, the Sierra de Grazalema and Los Alcornocales, the largest virgen forest in all of Europe!

Because Gaucin is 640 m altitude, the weather during the summer is mild, and walkers continue to go out even in the summer months. Mountain biking is also popular. For birdwatchers: it is on the migratory path with views to Africa.

Gaucin is an ideal base to explore the many sights of Andalucia. The Coast is 25 min. drive, Ronda is 25 mins, Gibraltar is 1 hr away, and Seville, Granada, Cordoba and Cádiz are within 2 hours. There is a train from Gaucin to Granada and Algeciras that is most picturesque and efficient. Ronda is 30 minutes away on a beautiful scenic new route. The Roman baths outside of Manilva are 30 minutes away, and totally accessible. There is also a first class cave within an hour away, with 40 different layers of cave cultures, many cave paintings etc, within an hour´s drive.

Gaucin is a "white village" in the Ronda mountains. It has an ancient castle and spectacular views of the countryside, Straits, Gib and Morocco. It is ideal as a base to make excursions to western Andalucia. The Coast is 25 min. drive, Ronda is 25 mins, Gibraltar & Algeciras are 1 hr away, and Seville, Granada, Cordoba and Cádiz are within 2 hours. Or you can just chill out, in the tranquillity and authenticity of a working Spanish pueblo. The area is a paradise for hikers with many marked trails, and for birdwatchers , it is in the migratory path to Africa. The house has all mod cons, incl. flat screen TV, top quality beds & linens, 2 fireplaces.

  The Toro apartment in Gaucin provides a chic, intimate way to experience the "real" Spain. The apartment is immaculate and every detail has been considered. From the manager's guide to the region and the soft, white bed , no detail was wanting. The view is spectacular and is the reason to be in Gaucin. In addtion, the town offers many good tapas bars and is a convenient location to Ronda, the coast and Gibralter. If you choose to spend your day at the pool, you will find a private pool just steps away from your apartment. You can stay in touch with home with an internet that keeps you connnected and there is even a washer and dryer and full kitchen in the apartment. This was a lovely apartment and I would recommend it particulary for families or couples looking for a gracious holiday home.

  Peace but no quiet.

  If you want a beautiful location all the comforts of home this is the place...but if you want peace forget it..
  Oh, the never ending barking and yapping dogs.
  Next to a hardware store that stayed open till late with constant customer shouting and hooting.
  A man-hole cover outside kitchen that rattled loudly every time vehicle passed over it.
  We loved the apartment, but were pleased to get away from the eternal din.
