GalashielsNovember Sunshine in the Rain!
Left on 01/23/2013 for a stay in November 2012
I am very reluctant to write this review, and am only doing so as I innocently made the offer. When this Finca becomes better known, it will become almost impossible to get a booking! and though I am generally not a selfish person, it would be nice to know that we could access this idyllic retreat as and when it suited.
However, it is only fair to reflect the incredible amount of hard work and determination that Ros and David have poured into this project, by telling you just how marvellous a visit here would be.
They hosted us in November 2012, and laid on almost continuous bad weather for the 6 days of our stay. You would think that would be a negative point, but not a bit.It just gave Ros and David a chance to show off their formidable skills as perfect hosts. We had a great time!
I could go on at great length about the quality of the food, the comfort and character of the house, the impressive open fireplace, the stunning views, but I need to leave some things for you to discover for yourself.
If you are planning to visit this area, then a visit to Finca Cielo ancho would considerably enhance your holiday.

PeeblesBreathtaking views and such wonderful, friendly hosts.
Left on 01/12/2013 for a stay in September 2012
Unknown to us when we booked we were to be David and Roz's first guests! We could not have asked for anymore from them, the homely feel of the property or the spectacular scenery. From private spots to sit as a couple, stunning garden lounge to take in the landscape and enjoy friendly conversation with your hosts or other guests or to simply relax in the pool, this wonderful finca has it all.
We stayed in the Tartan room which was charming and very comfortable with a lovely terrace and spacious ensuite. There is lots to see and do in the area around Gaucin, that will let you experience the rural Spain and after a day out there's no better way to end it than a home cooked meal served to you in front of those spectacular vistas!
Well done Roz, your vision when you undertook the design of the finca has truly paid off and David your hospitality and culinary skills, superb.
Rest assured, we will return.
