Our carefully restored typical Maremman style Casa is situated in Podere Montecucco which is tucked away between Castiglione della Pescaia and Roccastrada, a secluded belt of the Maremma. The view from Casa Montecucco stretches from the horizon of the Uccellina Park and the Argentario Coast. In the north eastern direction you can espy the valley of the River Bruna, and raging above is the castle Pia dei Tolomei. This fertile area and rich borax mines were laready discovered by the etruscans. Archeologists discovered many living placess and furnances from this era. Vetulonia and Roselle are mysterious and ancient. There is a feeling of spiritualtiy left over from the old rituals that took place here.
Dante already mentioned the comedy of the Gods that must have taken place in the Maremma and Gavarrano.The Maremma is not only culture and history. Discover an untamed beauty on foot or bicycle. Wild pig, porcupine, buck and ferrets populate dense oak forests. Enjoy century old olive plantations, wild vineyards and pine trees. Bird life is also abundant, herons and magpies being common.
