I've been staying in Gearhart for many years and I think Gearhart By the Sea is a great play to stay on the Oregon Coast. Has just enough available close by. McMenamins just steps away for Food Dring and Entertainment on the weekends...not to mention the 18 Hole Golf course right there (and ashorter 9 Hole course a few blocks away)
there is just enough in the main intersection of town, also a few blocks away, a restaurant, a bakery, a deli and then you are only a few miles to Seaside & Canon Beach which have more options for eating and entertainment. -

Have been visiting Gearhart by the Sea since the nineties. Room refreshers always very friendly and accommodating. First time in a one bedroom. Very clean and well appointed, we did not need for anything.
We were a bit disappointed in the view, however had a fabulous time. Wonderful walks, golf, sunsets etc. Pacific Way Bakery is excellent and a must for dinner.
God willing we will be back in 2014!

We came to Gearhart because we liked the sound of it in the aAa Oregon Tour Book. We were not disappointed. Check in was very helpful and allowed us to look at two condos before we decided on G636. The unit was tastefully decorated and very well equipped, with a great view down the coast. it was spotlessly maintained and we both had very restful nights since the bed was comfortable and it was really quiet and peaceful. We will be back for sure.

Perfect place for getaway for 1 or 2. Beach so close! View is great! Gearhart is quiet and serene. Enjoyed McMinamins across the street for meals.

Arrived too early for Check-in. Person was uprupt, when asked for local information. Accommodation convenient, well furnished and supplied. Bed linens were stained and torn and changed at my request.
Missed the usual and expected hospitality courtesies in greeting and communication with the guests. -

Advertising inferred ocean view and greater proximity to the ocean. Wifi was down and we were not told this at check-in, a signficant issue because of communication that we needed to do.
Lack of washer and dryer in the unit made it less useful than other rentals we have had. -

This condo was clean and updated. The location, on the second floor, afforded great veiws while also being close to the stairway.

our unit was clean and comfortable. It was quiet. We enjoyed the area..to visit cannon beach and the Lewis and Clark site.
We also had a very good meal at the McMenimans restaurand across the street. -

It can't be changed but, if the bedroom was located such that you could feel the ocean breeze and hear the waves at night through a patio door like is in the living room, it would be excellent. Maybe some of your units are arranged this way. We will check next time.
However everything was wonderful. -

Truly enjoyed my stay. The unit had a great view of the beach from the lanai. The building was pretty quiet so you could hear the waves crashing on the beach even across the dunes. It was also convenient having the mcMenamins Sandtrap Restaurant across the street. Will definitely be back

We love to stay on the beach, watch a fire in the fireplace, and have golf courses near by. The unit has a nice flat-screen TV that doesn't take up the whole room. We appreciate the "comforts of home" with the option to eat out - either at the Sand Trap or the Pacific Way Cafe - wonderful food! When we notified the front desk that light bulbs were burned out, they were quickly replaced, and the daily cleaning service is great. Our only disappointments were that it was too rainy to play golf, and this unit has only a partial view of the ocean, so we had to step outside and lean over the railing to see it.

We were in Seaside for a friend's 50th birthday celebration. I booked in Gearheart since there was no room in astoria due of the Miss or Pageant. Not knowing exactly what to expect, we were thrilled with our room. I would go back to Gearheart by the Sea in a heartbeat should another occasion arise!
