Union, WashingtonLate winter getaway/Looking for some sunshine!
Left on 05/23/2013 for a stay in May 2013
This unit is ideal for a couple. We stayed (3) nights and enjoyed the ocean views from unit; taking walks along beachfront; eating/dining right across street; wonderful golf course; short drive to Seaside/Cannon Beach to explore. Our stay covered 5/7 thru 5/9/13. The weather was fair...partly cloudy, sunny, with temp.in low to mid 60's. The home itself was clean and well cared for by the friendly staff. We will stay here again!

Hi - We are the owners of this unit at Gearhart by the Sea. We try to satisfy our guests and ourselves by keeping our unit up-to-date, fully stocked with necessities, clean, and comfortable. Most of our guests have very positive comments and good experiences while visiting our unit and the Gearhart coast. We take all comments under consideration, whether positive or negative. We are happy for the opportunity to show our hospitality where you can relax and enjoy our home away from home. Btw, the view is wonderful. Thanks for reading our comments.

While we were at Gearhart House someone in an adjoining unit began using a jack hammer to remodel it. When we finally reported it to the office...no more jack hammer. Apparently the owner doing the remodeling had neglected to inform anyone what they were doing. The office staff was wonderful. We have stayed at Gearhart House many times. Our favorite unit is G672 but we stay in others if it isn't available.

Old Bldg, needs some serious renovation.
Has a musty smell. Room itself . . needs the same help. The pretty points on TP and paper towells didn't make up for the thick oily smear on the cupboard in the kitchen or the pubic hair found stuck in the remote control. But hey, nice view. And, the restaurant (McMenamins) across the parking lot was a nice break away from the room.Response from Gearhart by the Sea - 09/19/2011

This unit has been completly remodeled over the last two years and it is one of the most recommended rooms. The Gearhart House building has had several renovations to it recently as well such as paint to the building, new entry doors, new roof, railings, and runway carpets. As other reviewers have stated this unit is very nice and the owners have gone the extra mile on upgrades to this unit.

Our first time in Gearhart, We hit a magical weekend in Sept with great sunny weather and almost no wind. The walk to the beach was beautiful and we enjoyed playing on the sand and in the waves. We were a little surprised to see vehicles on the sand, but there is a no-vehicle area very close by.
The pool was great for the kids. The hot tub was in good working order.
The one bedroom unit was a good size and the deck and fireplace were appreciated.
The kitchen was decently stocked with pans/dishes and the unit was acceptably clean.
Safeway is a short drive away for items we forgot and the McMinneman's resturaunt was conveniently located (on the other side of the parking lot) and familiar.
Can't wait to go back. -

Oregon City, ORA memorable, relaxing stay and we can't wait to return!

My husband and I were introduced to Gearhart By the Sea in august. We went with his mother and brother for a weekend and stayed in another unit. We decided to return for a weekend.
We were prepared for the a cold, rainy weekend. We brought board games and a crock-pot for homemade soup. During the day, we walked down to the beach, swam in the pool and visited the local area. In the evening, we sat by the cozy fire and listened to the radio. I know, it sounds too good to be true! It was great.
We felt completely at home...in a good way. A wonderful time was had and we look forward to returning! -

Happy Valley, ORA Wonderful Time at the Beach
Left on 01/06/2011 for a stay in August 2010
We spent three days relaxing and enjoying the beach along with our 6 year old granddaughter. Even though it rained much of the time we could still enjoy the beauty of the ocean because of the great view from our room. The accommodations were comfortable and adequate for all our needs. This is our very favorite unit in which to stay and we will continue to request it.

My wife and I enjoyed our stay at Gearhart by the Sea. The room was comfortable and had a great view of the ocean. The apartment was fully furnished with everything you would need and easy access to walk along the beach which is empty at this time of year. The only problem was the town of Gearhart in early spring is closed during the week.

Portland, ORPerfect place to say goodbye
Left on 01/05/2011 for a stay in August 2009
We recently had a dog that had to be put to sleep. It was a very emotional time in our family. As we dealt with the grieving process, we decided the best thing to do was take a vacation and take time to relax in the place that our dog loved most, the beach.
We have stayed at Gearhart By the Sea numerous times and this was (as it always is) the perfect and much needed retreat. -

My lovely lady friend and I stayed for my birthday. Was very enjoyable. Perhaps a little more wood for the fire would be nice. It was a cold November day
