What Past Guests Are Saying
This place needs lots of work.
Doors didn't close properly, sinks did not drain, kitchen horrible, clodhoppers upstairs all night long. Have stayed at many condos at Gearhart over the years. This was the worst and a rip off.
Mercer Island, Washington
Fine Location, Updating Needed
Great location, love the proximity to the beach, but room definitely needs to be updated.
Comfy bed was it.
This unit seemed clean but was lacking in several areas. The master bath had a ridiculous sink that wouldn't drain and no soap dish. The kitchen is not set up. Fridge door opens toward the dining room, no coffee grinder, etc.. I wouldn't stay in this unit again.
We spent one night during a trip down the coast with friends from Florida. We needed a two bedroom spot that is pet friendly for our little Yorkie. Gearhart By the Sea is a favorite place to stay as we are fond of the Sand Trap Restaurant. Palisades 459 was adequate, but very dated. Overall nice stay and we will return in the future.
We traveled with family that has a small dog so we were forced to use a animal friendly unit. I was dreading it but was surprised at the condition of the rental.
Redmond, WA area
Enjoyed the stay...but
We have always enjoyed coming back to Gearhart by the Sea. The unit was clean, but won't be staying in that unit again, unless there are some upgrades and updates to the space. Especially the kitchen...it was horribly small and nothing had been really changed since it was built. Cooking utensils were not what one would expect for the cost of staying there.
Sun Lakes, AZ
We actually had to beg for toilet paper and basic supplies. We were told sight unseen that we had ocean front when all we had was views to the bakc of other condos that were on the ocean. Golf prices were rediculous and entertainment at the clubhouse was third rate at best.
The view, location and sunset were excellent. Everyone was very helpful. The bathtub area in the main bathroom in this unit was unacceptable. The grout needed to be addressed, the cleaning crew had done everything they could think of to make it presentable but it really needs to be redone.
New Years Getaway!
Nice family two bedroom condo
The room turned out to be nicer than what we expected. Upgrades throughout, although would be nice if they replaced the main bathroom tub/shower. Would consider staying in this unit again.
Felt like home.
While some things were broken or worn out, overall it was very comfortable and we had a great time.
It is our favorite place to stay on the Oregon Coast
We had a nice 2 bedroom condo with an ocean view. We were able to bring the small family dog with us which was desirable. We have stayed at Gearheart by the sea several times in the last few years. We always rent a 2 bedroom unit for 2 nights on a weekend and love the nice kitchen and usually a fireplace that comes with the room and the ocean view is beautiful. Since we prefer to bring the dog with us we wish more pet friendly rooms were available because we sometimes have to postpone our trip and wait for a pet friendly condo to be available.
