  The Barrabool Hills Estate property exceeded all our expectations for a fantastic family holiday . We found the property easily from with Google Maps and travelled with our 2 young children and their nanny. This wonderfully designed house sits atop a hill with a stunning view of the countryside and offers a high level of luxury and privacy. We loved the floor to ceiling glass windows/ doors which allowed light to flow through the house, and the wide open gardens/ fields our children could run around in. It is decked out with state-of-the-art equipment and furnishings, a great collection of coffee books and magazines, board games and videos, and is clearly a place a lot of thought and care has been put into. The owner Glen was there when we arrived, cleaning the place out himself, and we might have arrived a bit early because some of the towels were still not washed (we threw them into the washer and dryer ourselves). He had remembered a baby chair and travel cot for our baby, and clearly had a lot of trust in letting strangers with children use his beautiful house. We had no issue with child safety- the pool, which we didn't use, was fenced up with glass. We got our groceries from the nearby stores about 10 minutes away, drove about half an hour to get to the start of the Great Ocean Drive, and mostly stayed home to enjoy the books, games and dvds from what appeared to be a personal collection. The central heating was great and beds were very comfy. The highlight for my children was collecting eggs from the fat chickens in the coop outside and throwing a frisbee near the new vineyard! We didn't use the gym.
  
  We would highly recommend this place for anyone looking for a good rest and relaxation! For the space we got and level of luxury, it was definitely bang for the buck.
