Bed & Breakfast “de Hebkesberg”

If you enjoy country life, our B&B; is for you: a quiet night’s sleep, except perhaps for a dog barking in the distance, the rustle of cattle in the field or the cackle of our hens in the run. Greet the day with breakfast on your own private patio. We serve freshly baked rolls and eggs from the chickens. The surrounding area is ideal for cycling, but a lazy day reading a book in the hammock on the terrace is also an option.

“de Hebkesberg” is an apartment in a farmhouse just outside the village of Bergharen, in the area between the Maas en Waal rivers, some 10 miles west of the town of Nij...megen. This unique part of the Netherlands offers much for outdoor lovers: forests, sand dunes, polders where you can fish, canoe or walk. There is a large recreational lake within walking or easy cycling distance, where you can surf, swim and dive (various facilities available).

For garden lovers the area offers a number of inspiring gardens that are open to the public, various nurseries and the show gardens “Tuinen van Appeltern” only four miles away. The nearby towns of Arnhem (15 miles) and Nijmegen (10 miles) have much to offer and are easy to reach by bike.

On the ground floor of the apartment, there is a dining area with a refrigerator, where guests can make their own tea and coffee. The shower and toilet are also on the ground floor. The first floor is a large hay barn, with an area of about 50 sq metres, which has been converted into a comfortable living and sleeping area. The whole apartment has central heating. An added attraction is that you can sleep in a hammock if you wish.

“de Hebkesberg” sleeps a group of up to eight people, but if you come alone you are equally welcome and will have the B&B; to yourself.

  If it's peace and quiet you're looking for but close to urban life, then the Hebkesberg is for you. Comfortable beds and hammocks if you prefer - ideal for a group or family, but also a wonderful getaway for a romantic weekend for two. Excellent breakfast with fresh eggs from the owner's chickens. Helpful and very friendly hosts. Enjoyable walks straight from the B&B; in attractive countryside.
